You will never regret good work once it is done.

106/140 total

It was great to be back on the platform and redeem myself from the last meet. It was the first time I was able to get into a flow state of mind and just lift while having fun.

I appreciate everyone for the love and support yesterday.

Really big shout out to my coach for being there since day 1. We were able to collaborate and run a system that worked. Excited for what’s to come.

We had fun 😂

Im proud of this man for putting himself out there and competing against the best 110kg lifters in the country. I’ve been working with for about 5 years and we’ve put on 202.5kg on his total (446lbs)!

This may have not been your best performance, but this was definitely a stepping stone for both of us. For him to believe & trust me as coach since Day 1 means the world to me. Time to build 🦍

The Set Up

Something that can be used in sports performance, life, work, and training is creating a routine or even reciting a mantra. If you’ve had different things pop up in your head before you lift I hope this helps!

This is what I do:

1️⃣ before stepping on the platform I think about 1 important cue for my lift. This is what I’d refer to as your mental/thinking box.

2️⃣ mentally and physically prep yourself. I usually take a deep breath, tap the platform twice with my shoes and address the bar.

3️⃣ I set up. Get to my start position and countdown from 5 to 1 then just go. This helps erase all my thoughts before I start my lift. It forces me to hit the gas and commit.

Training your mind and mentally prepping yourself is half the battle. Let me know if this helps and share your set up 🙌

Strength or Abs? Por que no los dos??? 😱🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve known for a while and he’s always had a high standard with a drive to get what he wants.

He wanted to get back to his strongest, while cutting down to look like a fitness influencer. 😎

Without sacrificing any Korean corn dogs, while switching careers, and traveling a ton…

Abdalla has gotten to a point where he’s nearing his strongest while at very low bw.

Abdalla successfully:

☑️ Dropped 25lbs+
☑️ Gained 100lbs+ in strength overall since inception
☑️ Enjoyed a plethora of Korean Fried Corndogs (yes)

All he needed was the right PLAN, and some ACCOUNTABILITY and he BLEW past his goals.

Whatever you do in life, it’s not legendary unless your friends are there to see it. That’s my favorite thing about friendship, watching & supporting each other through life.

Here’s some hump day motivation for y’all.

In 9 weeks has been crushing his transformation (we’re not even done yet). Coach .tsd and I created an efficient strategy to help him lose weight, build muscle, & increase strength. In the short time we’ve been together he’s already lost 16lbs. He’s a prime example of trusting the process ✊🏻.

Who’s ready to get started 😈

Baby, you’re my forever girl.

In 2018 I was walking to the library with .tsd at William Paterson and we were trying to think of a cool name for a training company.

I graduated college and Dan took me out to lunch at Chipotle. He offered me a coaching position for in 2019.

2 years later I had the opportunity to help the company grow, grow as a coach and help open up this new training facility, The District.

I’m ready to change more lives, increase performance, & cultivate a community.

I wanted to do it all.

If you were to ask me what was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my fitness journey, this is what I would say:

Have you ever attempted a max squat, bench, or deadlift and get stapled? But still came in the next day to put in honest work?

Have you ever felt the weight of a heavy clean & jerk or sn**ch and have the courage to get under it then over your head?

Did you sacrifice important events, wake up early to do cardio, control your diet, training, and sleep 24/7?

These were all the things I didn’t want to do, but had to. All of the things that will make anyone quit & give up. I never wrote myself off because I wanted to be a great athlete, but an even better coach.

I wanted to learn as much as possible and experience things that most people haven’t done. I loved being a beginner and create opportunities to get better at something.

I invested in coaches who would mentor me (thank you) and teach me how to program, cue, be a professional and learn from their experiences. Experience is something you could never learn from a book.

Fitness should be a personal journey for anyone. It’s okay to try something new or go after 1 thing. For anyone looking to start training…just start and remember it doesn’t have to be perfect.

Even though I was an Exercise Physiology major I never had an outlet to show my passion for fitness.

I was going through a tough time in college with being lost, finding my identity, a break up, and trying to find sources of inspiration.

The stars aligned and I met at the soft opening at . I came everyday during winter break and I saw so much potential in the gym. I asked Maku to mentor me and since that day we’ve been day 1 brothers.

He taught me a lot about myself, finance, life, owning a gym, relationships, and learning how to be emotionally intelligent.

He gave me the keys to the kingdom and allowed me express myself through the gym. To help nurture a community and create networking opportunities with other lifters.

I started to write programs for free, help members who didn’t know how to lift, and help the gym grow. I had a new found confidence in myself and my abilities to coach others.

This was a pivotal point in my life & I owe it to him.

Me freshman year of high school 😎

I was weighing in at a buck thirty five with no muscle and athletic background besides dancing and martial arts as a freshman!

I was honestly always the last pick in sports (still am 😂). As well as the smallest fry in the group. I’ve always wanted to get big, build muscle, and become the kid who was low key strong.

I didn’t know where to start and I convinced my dad to get me a gym membership. Looking back, I wish I had someone to guide me with the right information. I looked online for more fitness content in the early days of YouTube fitness, bodybuilding.com programs, and forums.

Trust me, we’ve all been through it. Experiences of trial and error, watching zyzz videos (iykyk), body building motivation videos, and eating chicken and rice.

I continued to do the same thing with no sense of direction and then I met .tsd before I started college.

To be continued.
