Your customers' already short attention spans are stretched even more right now. So it has become critical that your marketing messages are speaking to them about how you help them survive and thrive.

What may seem like a huge crimp in your plans can also be seen as a great opportunity to hit pause and really review what your company is doing. The only businesses that are going to come through this crisis are the ones who seize the opportunity to get lean, communicate effectively with their customers, and deliver products and services that help their customers survive and thrive.

You need to be talking to your customers in ways that are relevant to them and their current situation. That should have already started.

So if you have a bunch of social media posts scheduled and running as if everything was "normal" (like I keep seeing everywhere)...time to turn those off and rethink. Everyone is living in a new normal right now. It's a new world. You don't have to talk about the obvious negative things going on, but you do have to adjust your messages and offerings to be 100% relevant to your people.
