Great to see Eric Sorensen in Freeport!

The unofficial count has me voted to a seat on the county board.
There were some victories last night and a few hard losses.
My win does not soften the blow of so many good, dedicated, abundantly qualified candidates that didn't make it through.

We move on and take some of their causes as our own responsibility.

Thank you to everyone who has helped me get this far. I will continue to work hard on this never-ending battle and look forward to a serving as a new member on the Stephenson County Board.

A vote to not opt in to this raise program, besides being directly contrary to the will of the voters, is to disregard those who serve our county. It's willfully ignorant, elitist, and simply rude.
That is why we need significant change to the Stephenson County Board.

Stephenson County Board votes against CNA pay increase It took the board until almost 9:45 Thursday night to finally vote 11-10 against opting into a state program that would increase CNA wages by up to $6.50 an hour. Nurses at Walnut Acres currently start out making $15 an hour.

Three weeks out. A lot of work has gone into these campaigns and there is still a lot of work to come. I hope you have a plan to make the best informed decision for yourself and our community.

Today I participated in the Freeport Park District and Freeport Parks Foundation Autumn Leaf Run at Oakdale Nature Preserve.

The parks system is one of the most valuable resource in Freeport and the larger Stephenson County. As a citizen of the area, they are always at the top of my list. That will continue as a county board member.

I’ve been out talking with many constituents in my district and handing out my cards. I appreciate the time I’ve spent with many of you to hear your thoughts and I hope I can represent you as one of the Stephenson County Board members.

The Stephenson County Democrats are having a day of action on Saturday, September 17 starting at noon.

We hope that volunteers can help with passing out yard signs and pairing up with others to go out and canvas for their favorite Candidate.

All of this is important as the Election is quickly approaching. If ever there was a time to step forward and help do your part, it's now. Besides, it will be fun, bring a friend, and make new ones. Even if you have never done this before, please give it a try. You will be takling to other Democrats mostly and giving them a reason they should vote in this upcoming Mid-term election.

I'm running to represent District E on the Stephenson County Board. It's time for new voices and new ideas!

I had a busy morning with others canvassing and helping with the backpack drive at Boys & Girls Club of Freeport & Stephenson County
There are a lot of community-focused candidates to look for on November 8!

Thank you to everyone who supported my candidacy for school board. We came really close, (within 20 votes) but ultimately it was short. The school board is a vitally important part of our community and only functions properly when citizens like you are engaged.

I have served as a substitute and student teacher in the district teaching at all levels, K-12, in a variety of subjects from Music to Math, Physical Education to Physics.
I have helped coach the high school speech team since 2010.
I have been teaching at Highland Community College since 2014.
I am an educator with a young family and a vested interest in the future path of our educational environment.
