When you think you look good running, but the pro photos suggest you peed you pants. Still riding high from the Annapolis 10 Miler 🏃🏻‍♂️✨! The race is always tough, but these photos say it all—😁, joy, and a whole lot of sweat! Grateful for every mile and every memory. 📸💪

Running faster and keeping folks safe. Medical Running is a rewarding experience. This is my 9th official year doing the as a medical runner. It keeps my ego in check and summer training consistent. What a beautiful day to run with friends, community and current/former patients.🏃🏻‍♂️😁

Got to try out the exercise before giving to clients. SmartCuffs are amazing. Easy set up and so many great benefits to blood flow restriction:
• Enhanced Muscle Growth: BFR allows for significant muscle hypertrophy with lower intensity workouts, by trapping blood in the muscle, which leads to increased metabolic stress and muscle protein synthesis.
• Increased Strength Gains: Even with light weights, BFR training can lead to strength improvements comparable to traditional heavy lifting, making it useful for individuals recovering from injuries or looking to reduce joint stress.
• Improved Endurance: BFR training can improve both aerobic and anaerobic endurance by promoting faster adaptation to training stimuli, which is beneficial for athletes needing to enhance stamina without overloading their bodies.
• Rehabilitation Benefits: BFR can accelerate recovery by stimulating muscle growth and strength in injured or post-surgical patients who are unable to engage in high-intensity exercise, thus preserving muscle mass during rehabilitation.

Double unders, handstand shoulder taps and 5 miles. Give me all the foods! 🏃🏻‍♂️🤸‍♂️💪. Wish I had a little more time so I could paddle today too!

11/08/2024

8 total miles! Just a few more weeks until the A10.

08/08/2024

Planned for 6 and ran 7. Legs feeling good! Just a handful of more runs before the Annapolis 10 Miler. Time to work on pacing and fueling.

Feels more like swimming then running in this humidity.

Legit enough to have swag! New T-shirts are in.

16/07/2024

Keeping it easy in this heat and humidity. Some runs you do fast, some with hills, some long. This run was like a systems check. Run slow and easy and listen to some sweet drums.

Cape Charles, VA! See you soon.

Rainbows and unicorns. 2.5 miles and a bunch of dips and pull-ups. I am about 9 months into this CrossFit journey. I remember doing this trip last year and being tired from packing up beach gear. Now I can rut my paddle board down with paddle and vest for all the kids from@house to beach. I PRd from carrying 3 beach chairs to now 6 from beach to golf cart.

Morning break Anyone else still do hot coffee on warm days?

01/07/2024

Another fast 4 miles. Love these cool summer mornings. Some runs it is good to work on tempo, pacing, speed and hills. Today, I focused on landing at my arch, speeding up and slowing down.

For my PT friends working with Hamstring Injuries in sprinting, here is a nice article on an assessment tool for sprinters as well as a review of common faults in sprinting. The Sprint Mechanics Assessment Score: A Qualitative Screening Tool for the In-field Assessment of Sprint Running Mechanics

Starting a business isn’t easy. It has made me grow in many ways personally and professionally. I can say it has had a net positive impact on my family. These girls are no strangers to seeing their parents do hard things. Then they made $50 selling lemonade in 2 hours!

9 easy miles. Meditating on the human potential. 2 weeks away from Acadia Half Marathon.

13/05/2024

Just a few weeks out from Acadia Half Marathon. 5.5 Sunday shakeout.

When I have one opening today, I get my recovery work on. Those 80 box step ups with 50 lbs got me good this morning.

28/04/2024

Richmond, you had me at good BBQ, Breweries and Coffee. Got 4 miles on around some of the best running trails and I am hooked on you.

Make running make sense

We will do plenty of extra research on lifting techniques or how to improve our pull-ups. But running we just assume comes natural. Spoiler 🚨: It doesn’t.

Thanks Dat for our Saturday run clinic. So many issues can be rooted from your stance and position. Sound familiar? Don’t let an “injury” hold you back from learning more about how you can get back to running the Creek!
This guy loves working with runners and it shows.

Looking forward to the next one!
