On our ride back from village Rumsu, we saw there was a old temple which had a very old architect, this attracted to our eyes and we were curious to know which temple is it. We got to this details about the Temple.

Temple name:- Tripura Sundari Temple
Location:- Naggar, Himachal Pradesh

This temple is a wooden pagoda-style that can be accessed via a short walk on a path from Naggar Castle. The gabled roof is a beautiful sight and signals the presence of an old temple. It is crowned with a three-tiered roof, of which the top storey is designed very beautifully. A big annual fair is held at this temple in the month of May, when processions of deities from local villages arrive.

It is a magnificent old temple built of deodar wood with a triple-layered roof. Of the many temples in Naggar, it is arguably the most beautiful. The conical shikhara sits proudly on top of the double slanted roof. The carvings on the right side of the main temple appear to be even older than the main temple itself; the lower two storeys are divided by squat wooden pillars.

The pillars and doors are all made out of wood and have intricately carved designs. The architecture comprises of stone and wood. A lovely, wood-carved Ganesha welcomes one into the temple that also has an open courtyard. It is a tranquil place and a must-visit when in Naggar. There are many other small temples in the complex, with many carved stones and ancient statues

This is a Hindu temple in the Roopkund area and is dedicated to the worship of Lord Vinayaka or Lord Ganesha. This is made inside a small cave with small, flat pieces of stones and inside is placed an idol of Lord Ganesha made of black stone. The beautiful place is though not very popular. It is usually a place visited by trekkers and travellers. There are number of metal bells tied here and this makes the small temple look even prettier.

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi 🙏

Dead Man's Fingers.

Monsoon has triggered the omnipresent, but hardly seen fungi to put forth myriad of different . The Dead Man's Fingers (Xylaria polymorpha) get their name from the grim resemblance they bear to a corpse's finger jutting out from the ground. This fungus resides inside plant tissues and is often seen manifesting on dead, rotting logs of wood (especially leguminous plants). The fungus is most commonly used in 'spalting' ie. treating wood to give natural colorations and patterns.
Fungi are saprophytes, ie. they thrive on the nutrition they derive from the dead and decaying lifeforms.
Death Is Life.
