In 1949, Kaprekar discovered an interesting property of the number 6174, which was subsequently named the Kaprekar constant. He showed that 6174 is reached in the end as one repeatedly subtracts the highest and lowest numbers that can be constructed from a set of four digits that are not all identical.

Dattatreya Ramchandra Kaprekar was an Indian recreational mathematician who described several classes of natural numbers including the Kaprekar, harshad and self numbers and discovered the Kaprekar's constant, named after him. Despite having no formal postgraduate training and working as a schoolteacher, he published extensively and became well known in recreational mathematics circles.

Makar Sankranti is a Hindu festival celebrated in honour of God Surya and will be celebrated on 14th-15th January. The day also marks the transition of the sun from Dhanu Raashi to Makar Raashi. People fly kites on this day and seek blessings from Surya God.

When Sambhaji Maharaj with Kavi Kalash were chained and stoned before they were brought in front by Aurangzeb. Both Sambhaji Maharaj and Kavi Kalash were bleeding all over. Aurangzeb was so happy that he got down from the throne to offer prayers. Kavi Kalash sang this poetry, comparing Aurangzeb to Ravan and Sambhaji to Hanuman.

Onake Obavva | A Brave Ordinary Woman Who Broke Skulls and Made History

This Episode is about an ordinary women stepping up to do an extraordinary feat.

Onake Obavva wife of an ordinary soldier, stood up to the situation and killed upward 200 soldiers of Hyder Ali.

Post the killing marathon, she fell down in exhaustion.
There are records which claim that she lived on to receive 3 bags of gold and she was paraded in upper and lower Chitradurga, the evening after the war.

The Karnataka government has ordered a celebration of ‘Onake Obavva Jayanti’ on the 11th of November from this year. The Kannada and Culture Department had proposed celebrating the birth anniversary of Onake Obavva, a woman-soldier who had fought against the forces of Hyder Ali in Chitradurga in the 18th century. A state-sponsored event remembering the valour of Obavva will be observed

BAKSHALI MANUSCRIPT:

- The Bakhshali manuscript was found in 1881 by a farmer in his field in Bakhshali, near Peshawar Pakistan.

- The Bakhshali manuscript contains the oldest recorded symbol used for zero.

- Carbon dating of the manuscript found that it dates from between the 3rd and 4th centuries CE.

- It has a dot representing ‘zero’ in it.

- It contains material relating to arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.
