Bulldog Baths Token from Gay Freedom Day in 1980

Bulldog Baths opened in 1978 and soon emerged as the largest gay bathhouse in the USA. It was located at 132 Turk Street in San Francisco, CA. It was known for its hyper-masculine atmosphere with a B**M theme and prison-like décor. This token was distributed to participants at pride parade events in 1980.

These are retired copies from a local elementary school. They have typical wear from heavy use in a school setting, but they are all intact. This wear includes stickers, tears, creases, repairs, writing, etc. I think they all have an associated reading level written on the title page. No duplicates.

⚡SOLD⚡Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark 3 Book Set. The nostalgia is real with these collections of short horror stories for children, written by Alvin Schwartz and illustrated by Stephen Gammell.

These were school copies with library catalog markings on the spine and minimal writing on the top corners of the title pages, as shown. Overall, they are in good shape. This series has been a victim of book banning across the country with cries that the contents are too violent and unsuitable for young children 🤷🏻‍♂️

This has been my best summer ever regarding unique opportunities to purchase some rad stuff, but now that school has resumed, my posts will become more sporadic. I teach preschool full-time, but I will always post items for sale as I find time. A big thank you to everyone who has made a purchase this year or who has engaged with my posts! This picture was taken last month by my homie when we celebrated my kid's 1st and 6th birthdays.
