I may be wrong, but I doubt it's possible to get more fiddleback figure than this! It's absolutely mesmerizing to watch the fiddleback shimmer when turning them in the sunlight. There's only a couple sets with this wood available!

Amboyna Burl Itomaki Set

Check out this incredible multi-tone Ambonya Burl! While most of the burl Elite Itomaki available are separately deep orangey/reddish or blondish, this particular set has a mix of the two colors (more orange than red, but still in that general area), with even shades of pale blue on some sides!

I have to say, this is one of my most favorite sets in the bunch (which is saying a lot, because they're all eye candy!) So much that I was initially planning to just keep it for myself. This particular type of Siamese Rosewood is simply incredible, and sandwiching it between Blackwood just makes the colors pop! It's a subtly orange red, but will darken to deeper red over time.

Glowing with fire-like brilliance, these itomaki have waves of orange and black, with magnificent tight tochi figure throughout every itomaki.

SUSTAINABILY SOURCED: This wood was harvested in the 1960s and used to make incense. The folks who processed the wood stored the remaining chunks in their cellar (as many woodworkers do), and recently their grandkids decided to sell these chunks of wood long forgotten in their grandparent's basements. Ben (over at Greenberg Woods) acquired this wood, which now glisten on this very fine set of itomaki!

Black & White Ebony Itomaki Set

We've got a real treat today, as this set is one of only TWO Black & White Ebony sets available!

This beautiful stabilized Black & White ebony comes from Ben over at Greenberg Woods. The itomaki are fitted with two African Blackwood caps and one Amboyna Burl cap on the ends!

Note: When preparing the taper for this set, I accidentally removed *slightly* too much wood on one itomaki, so it only has a tight fit when fitted in the middle holes. Because all zagane are slightly different, it might fit just fine on yours. That said, I will happily offer a full refund if it doesn't fit.

Mexican Royal Ebony Itomaki Set
(ROYAL 02)

This is another favorite set of Mexican Royal Ebony. I absolutely love the natural matching of deep brown (almost purpleish, but my eyes aren't good enough to verify that) heartwood with golden sapwood!

Another natural feature, this particular batch of wood has holes from natural wood-boring insects! Full disclosure, I've had this board for several years and the seller told me about the holes before I bought it. I loved the heartwood/sapwood combination so much that I didn't mind. Personally, I think it's cool to know that part of this itomaki was someone's lunch many years ago!

Note, all the holes have been filled with cyanoacrylate glue and is smooth to the feel. But they are still very noticeable.

Cocobolo Itomaki Set
(COCO 03)

Another set of Cocobolo itomaki which is very different from other sets of this type. This particular set is almost technicolor... assuming technicolor was had a sepia tone. The colors in every itomaki in this vibrant set ranges from yellows to oranges to browns and some blacks. Similar to kouki, the color will get darker and richer over time.

Figured Bubinga Itomaki Set
(BUBINGA 01)

This set features a particularly exceptional level of highly figured Bubinga. The hardness of Bubinga is similar to Karin wood, and this set has cascades of ribbons and swirls.

Although Bubinga is common in most woodshops, this high amount of figure is not easy to find.

Mexican Royal Ebony Itomaki Set
(ROYAL 01)

This is a very special set of Mexican Royal Ebony (also known as Katalox), as it features a rare fiddleback figure which is hard to find these days. It's hard to see in the pictures, but I can take some video to show.

This is one of the sets I want to keep for myself. Not only does this incredibly hard wood have a mirror-like shine, but this particular set has a rich blend of brown and black grain which has lots of character.

Birdseye Rosewood Itomaki Set (SOLD)

This is a unique set of Birdseye Rosewood (made with reclaimed wood) features deep swirls and a beautiful grain. Although difficult to see in the pictures, two of the itomaki have ever-so-slight purple shades mixed with the generally to***co colored wood.
