Space holder for embodied reconnection, stress and pain release, mobility and nervous system health.
Rewiring your nervous system is an interesting journey.
This was after 5 days of practicing this same move and for the previous 4 days I didn’t experience anything significant.
Then day 5 all of a sudden my body has a release and it the sensations in my body brought up feelings of dread, fear and anxiety.
You see our body affects our mind and our mind effects out body.
The important thing to do when you experience a release is to be with it.
Without shame, without judgment and without trying to attach meaning to.
Use self-compassion and allow yourself to feel and experience the release begin to dissipate.
This is rewiring your nervous system to be in safety and making space for fresh energy in your mind and body.
And I don't mean to thee old positive self talk method were you look in the mirror and tell yourself things you don't believe... This can actually be even more damaging to your healing process when your stuck in nervous system dysregulation!
If you stand in the mirror and say "you are amazing" when you don't believe that you are , your body says 🗣️ "LIAR!"
And that creates mistrust and that is threatening to your system. Thus perpetuating your dysregulation.
When we adopt self compassion instead, we create connection, trust and safety within ourselves.
Allowing our defence system to relax.
My favourite researcher and author on the subject of self-compassion is
Check out her books if your looking for a way to understand and bring more self compassion into your life.
Her work on self compassion was a game changer for me and has transformed the way I approach somatic healing.
Body based stress release system coming soon.

Keep giving because it's who you are, what you love and who you want to be.
Self-love means you also are giving and receiving to and from yourself.
🕯️When you are the source of your own light, giving amplifys your vibrancy and not receiving can't diminish your glow.✨
Questions to journal or ponder:
✏️💭What ways do I currently help myself feel heard, seen and valued by me.
✏️💭What are some easy ways I could start feel heard, seen and valued by me in my day to day?
This was my moms first somatic coaching session with me🥰 She was blown away by what we were able to achieve in one session and is excited for the next.
This woman is a true inspiration to me and is the reason I found my path to becoming a somatic therapist.
She has been doing the work to break the cycle of inter-generational trauma and is with me every step as I follow my goals.
Like if you got a momma doing the work
or supporting you in your dreams🥇
Diaphragmatic breathing sends signals to your parasympathetic nervouse system that you are safe! This calms the fight or flight response. The more you practice this breathing the more you are retraining your system to be in a calmer state.
And you can use breathing anytime, anywhere, not just in meditative position!
While dancing, reading, posing, walking,sipping......

It’s been a few months since my last panic attack. I’ve had some close calls but I have resources now that I use to help me before I get there.
The language of our body is our first language… I had forgotten how to understand my first language….maybe I never even learned how in the first place ❓

The body holds onto our stress responses. Instead of managing stress let’s start learning how to release stress.
Girls gotta laugh! Mmkay!
Someone told me once that I laughed ugly.... I was a teenager so of course I never laughed like that again for eternity!!!
How silly to think anyone could have an ugly laugh 🤦♀️
If you think you laugh ugly….
Just go ahead and ugly laugh…. Because it's really beautiful when joy comes flying out of your face like that!
Girls gotta laugh! Mmkay!
I didn't know how to deal with stress in my life.
On the flip side I didnt know how to live without overwhelming stress in my life.
These are some lessons I passed on to my kid without even realizing I was teaching them.
Unraveling 35 yrs of poor stress coping skills and integrating new ways of being is allot!
But I look at this pic and know that no matter how hard the journey to wellness may be for me sometimes, it's all worth it.
Today Joelle and I host our first Find Your Wild Retreat together!

✨Healing is an interesting journey.
⚡️You think you have healed or at least moved on and then your body reminds you that you never really did...just put it away... for safe keeping.
🤍In the healing process I realize that I might never fully.
💭and that's both beautiful and extremely hard..
I'm currently in Canmore.
🗻 although it felt good to get away my body continues to remind me my healing is still in progress.
📙I found this book of poetry while walking the shops downtown
💡and as I read each page I experience a complete stranger reveal their emotion true as it was felt and her release invites my own to show up without covers.
Don’t cry over spilled plants 🥺
I thought about coming up with some clever analagy for this one.
But really... I just tossed a stuffy down the hallway, it hit a plant off the piano and then face dived into another plant. 💪
Then I had to clean up the mess while my dog tried to help 😇
🙅My husband said "that's all you, I'm not helping with that mess"....
Then he picked up the broom and started helping 🥰
So what's the lesson? 🤷♀️
Don't cry over spilled plants!😜
I acknowledge that being strong, independent and resilient does not mean I can do everything myself or that I should be able to.
🤬The universe is sure testing me on this one right now.
🤕Some past trauma kept coming up for me in the form of shooting pains in my body when it was triggered.
🛤A couple months ago I attended a trauma release workshop because I knew I needed to find my way towards acceptance instead of constant repression.
The workshop surprised me.
I will never forgotten the the incidents that caused the pain but I began remembering the good that I had completely blocked out for over a decade.
☮️My perspective completely shifted and I finally reached the stage of acceptance
😭These past two weeks have been testing my acceptance as the past has come back to haunt me and is now affecting someone I love.
It's hard to see the good while experiencing the suffering in a loved ones eyes.
But I know it would be much harder if I was suffering my old pain when my strength is needed to help them through theirs.
🌺Celebrating the good days!
3 lessons from the the bad days.
1. 🌿Acknowledging that you are struggling makes room for self-compasion. Resistance elicits negative self talk.
2. 🌿Pre-plan self care. We are human, we are going to have bad days! If we don't take care of ourselves regularly a bad day can have a month's worth of frustration (or more) all coming up at the same time.
3. 🤍Sometime we need more help than we can give ourselves and that's ok. 🤍
(My mental health wasn't a problem untill it was a problem. In the past I could manage on my own, then the bad days started to take over and the good days felt like I was just picking up the pieces. I've been working with doctors and psychologist for 8months now and I've finally come to terms with the fact that I need more help than I can give myself and that's ok.)
Share me some bad day tea! How do you manage your bad days?
35yrs old and I'm still trying to figure it out.
Do you try to just work through it?
Do you have any stress relieving protocols?
Do you schedule stress relief in advance as a preventative?......(I'm thinking that's what I'm going to start adding in.)
Beating that morning drag with ease😎
A morning routine doesn't need to be complicated and complex.
Mine is:
Hydrate✅
10min stretch✅
20min of mindfull audio while getting ready for the day✅
Dehydrate ☕️😝 (COFFEE)✅
Fuel (breakfast)✅
20min quite time ✅
☀️when I first started developing a morning routine I was trying to be sooo productive! I read the productivity books about reaching your goals!
☀️I'd try to fit so many things in that it just made me not want to get up or I'd feel exauhsted for the day!
It was NOT sustainable for me
AND
every morn I was starting with a FIGHT against myself and/or putting myself down.
😡How aweful! 😭
A morning routine is a great way to set yourself up for the day.
(And I don't deny that being productive in the morning can help you reach your goals)
But my goal was not to be even more exauhsted than I already am in a day or to put myself down more than I already was.
I saw the value in waking up early but I had to create a morn that supported me, who I am, and what I need.
I have a crazy busy brain and get overwhelmed easily in a day.
So I need a morning that's not complicated,
And THAT actually helps me be more productive in a day.
Support yourself As You Are.
I'm curious, do you have a morning routine?
