Lady Lovat Primary School, Morar

Hello and welcome to Lady Lovat Primary School page!

I am a parent of 2 children at the school and created this page to enable us to share upcoming events and fundraising ideas we have for our school.

26/03/2024

The kids at Lady Lovat Primary School all have a love of completing jigsaws together but I have been told they’re working their way through the schools current supply at a speed of knots! If anyone is having a clear out or has any redundant jigsaws of around 1000 pieces could you let us know or drop off at the school?

Thanks so much!

Angela 😊🧩

It’s that’s time of year to spread a little Christmas cheer! And hopefully help towards making some pennies for a lovely little school.

We have organised 2 fabulous hampers and planning on picking the winners on the 12th and 13th December when the kids perform their school Christmas Pantomime.

In these hampers we have white, red, fizzy and mulled wine, biscuits, cheese, chocolates, coffee, beer, just lots of delicious goodies really 😋

Numbers are £2.00 and all money raised goes towards future trips for the kids or items they would benefit from in the classroom or enjoy playing with outside.

We’re such a small school, 14 pupils, so any money raised really does make a huge difference. Even if you’re able to purchase one number, every little really does help.

If you are not local to Morar I am happy to take the winning hamper to Fort William…unfortunately I don’t get to travel much further than that! 😉

Numbers can be paid for by
🎄 PayPal - [email protected] (please mark family and friends)
🎄 from me direct (Angela MacKay)
🎄 or by bank transfer (message for details)

Please feel free to share 🤩

photos attached show numbers still available 😊

Good luck and thank you! 💫

Reminder for parents at Lady Lovat Primary School, there is a PC meeting tonight online via MS teams at 7.30 🙂

A huge thanks to everyone that came along and supported our coffee morning yesterday morning ☺️. The kids did us all proud with their different roles of greeting people, taking orders and helping in the kitchen. Also a big thank you to everyone that purchased tickets online for our raffle.

We managed to raise £264.58 from the delicious goodies and £250.00 from the raffle, I’m sure the kids will put this to fantastic use in a future day trip.

We’d also like to thank Margaret MacPhee who kindly donated disposal coffee cups from An Cala for our event, it was very much appreciated.

We hope you all have a super Easter! 🐰

We are looking forward to welcoming family, friends and members of the community to the school this Friday morning! Here's our menu, and we might have a few more treats on the day 😋

13/03/2023

We are holding a fundraiser on Friday 31st March, from 9.30-11.30am. Please join us in the school canteen to eat some delicious breakfast baking, tea, coffee, smoothies and more. All proceeds towards school trips, organised by the parent council 🥐🍓☕️😋

06/06/2022

At the end of this term, our wonderful Lady Lovat teacher Miss Kordiak will be retiring, she will be so missed!! The parent council are organising a farewell gift to say thank you for all her years of hard work. Many of you in the area will have been taught, or have had kids taught by Mary, and if you would like to donate towards this, or add a farewell message, we would be very grateful. We are collecting through paypal ([email protected]) and BACS. Please just get in touch.
Pamela, Angela, Nancy and the parent council.

Amazing news for the 2022 residential trip to Loch Insh for the kids at Lady Lovat 🤩

📣 We have more GOOD NEWS! 📣

We have voted to donate
⭐£500 of Argos vouchers to New Start FW

and £300 to each of the following groups:

⭐ Lundavra Nursery towards play items
⭐ A Write Highland Hoolie (Mallaig Book Festival) to help get island pupils over to join in
⭐ Lady Lovat Primary School for their residential trip
⭐ Croileagan Grianach towards play area carpets
⭐ Sunart & District Agricultural Society towards fundraising costs for their show.

It is entirely due to the success of our weekly number draws that allows us to be able to support local causes like these. So thank you to each and every one of you who has bought a number from us.
It really does make a difference ❤❤❤❤

Thank you 😊😊

Hi guys, just a reminder that the Morar Scarecrow Trail starts this Saturday, 17th October and runs until Sunday 1st November. Trail sheets can be bought in Toys and Gifts, Jac O Bites Cafe and Arisaig Marina and can also be purchased direct from myself and emailed to you. Sheets are £3 each.

I took my kids around Mallaig yesterday to complete their trail and I have to say it was fantastic! I think I may have enjoyed it more than the kids! 🤩 There’s still time to purchase both trail sheets and raise a little money for our local schools. 😬

05/10/2020

Reminder for any parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, family friend, business owner, local resident that would like to give the kids something exciting to look forward to. If you have some spare time please, please can I ask you to take part and display a scarecrow in your garden? I know the kids would all love and appreciate it. Just drop me a little message with your address and scarecrow theme.

Unfortunately Arisaig are unable to take part this year so if any resident Arisaig would like to be included in our map please let me know.

Please feel free to share, remember “sharing is caring” 🥰

I went into Lady Lovat last week to help the kids make these beautiful handmade unicorn baubles, this one my daughter made and goes perfect with my tree! It also has some feathers inside which I think is an extra special touch!

The kids are selling these baubles for £5 each for school funds, there’s lots of different colours and if anyone would like to purchase one for a special someone please let me know.

Thanks so much! 👌🏻

We’d like to say a huge thank you to The Morar Hotel for all their help and providing their fantastic venue for us on Friday night, they really did go out of their way to accommodate us.

Another huge thanks to Eilidh Shaw, Ross Martin and friends for providing super tunes, the dance floor was busy all night!

Also to the teachers at Lady Lovat Primary School, all the children, parents, families, friends and the local community for supporting our event, it’s such a busy time of year and pennies are tight so it really was so amazing to see so many of you there, thank you all so much 🥰

A big well done to the raffle winners, the adult hamper was won by Donald Ian McDonell from Morar and the kids hamper was one by Julie Macaskie from Arisaig!

Now to look forward to another busy week before the school breaks for the holidays on Friday! 👍🏻👌🏻

13/12/2019

Morar Hotel have the bar open tonight for bar meals and beverages, perfect excuse to not have to worry about cooking! 👌🏻👍🏻

13/12/2019

So it’s finally here! Tonight is the night for “The 3 Cs” and what a perfect start to the day...clear sky and the suns out! So why not wrap up warm tonight and get in the Christmas spirit with some carol singing, then pop in to Morar Hotel to warm up with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. Then get your dancing shoes on for our family ceilidh! What better way to spend a Friday night! 🎉🎄

Christmas Eve Box 🎄

A special little box made up with some little treats to be opened on Christmas Eve! We will be taking per orders for these tomorrow night at our fantastic 3 Cs Event. I created this box at home and I’m planning a visit to the school next week to get the Little Elves, I mean children (!) to help produce more!

They can be collected from the school next Friday 20th or I can deliver to Fort William after this (if we receive any orders further afield!)

The boxes are £10 and contain hot chocolate and marshmallows, chocolate lolly pop, candy cane, 2 chocolate coins, 2 cookies, magic key for Santa and reindeer dust and of course can be personalised with a name on the top of the box.

All monies raise for school funds.

Please send me a little message if you’d like to pre order a box if you can’t make it along tomorrow night.

Any likes and shares would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!
