Let me tell you about my week!

I got to see and photograph this amazing aspiring ballerina, Karis , that I have known since she was a little girl in my ballet class. She is studying at the in NYC now and wearing her .america pointe shoes (Crescenda CL60) that we customized to match her skin tone. We met up at sunset under the Brooklyn Bridge and created so many amazing images!

This was the cherry on top of my long and exhausting week of traveling and visiting dance stores to show them R-Class pointe shoes. Thank you to for your time!

A few weeks ago, while going to a dancewear store, I visited what once was my school, Virginia School of the Arts. This week I saw an old coworker from my Capezio days which was so much fun! I share all of this because you never know where life is going it take you and how your past and present can merge into something wonderful. Be open to the possibilities!

The topic that Misty Copeland brings up is one I hold very close to my heart. I was DEVASTED at 9 when I was told I COULDN’T dance ballet in my childhood studio dance recital because I wanted to wear tights and shoes that matched my skin tone. My parents were told if I wanted to wear my flesh tone shoes and tights that they should take me to Dance Theater of Harlem or Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater I feel that everyone, no matter their skin tone should have the opportunity to dance and show their ballet lines in all studios. Though it seems like it's only an emoji this statement means so much more. It's a statement of representation on all platforms for all dancers. After a long day of dance, talking to Ms. Toussaint was very encouraging and uplifting! So grateful for this weekend! I really am thankful to CityDance for presenting me at Youth America Grand Prix. Tonight was the awards ceremony and I was grateful to place 3rd in contemporary. Thank you CityDance for your wonderful training! Congratulations to and this weekend. You both did amazing! Thank you mom and dad for continuously supporting me and reminding me to reach for the stars!

Last weekend I had the honor of placing top 12 & top 6 at the Youth American Grand Prix (YAGP) Youth America Grand Prix in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Thank you YAGP for acknowledging me. I am so grateful that CityDance presented me with the opportunity to compete at my first YAGP. Amazing job to my colleagues .t__dance and . It’s an honor to train with you all each day.
