Spelling Bee at Hartley elementary! The butterflies in the stomach, hoping to get a word that you know!
Congratulations to all the spellers that participated and good luck at the next level to the winner, Christian
And school officer Buck had his last day, and kids got to say goodbye to him. Good luck as you had to your next adventure!
It was a beautiful day of remembrance at the flag raising ceremony and breakfast at First Coast Technical College honoring veterans who have served our country.
My father was an army man, my father-in-law was a Marine, my brother is an Air Force lieutenant-colonel serving in Italy, and my nephew was in the Navy. I proudly have a connection to all four branches! Thank you and honor to Everyone who has served and is serving!
The FCTC flag raising ceremony honored our veterans for this special day of remembrance. We are so grateful for those who served and are serving our country!
At the Osceola PTO meeting, training for hands-only CPR (no rescue breaths) was presented, and questions were asked and knowledgeably answered. It was very educational, useful, and informative!
Stackable easier to carry chest forms were used instead of the former “Annie” mannequin. (Oh, and we learned that the Heimlich maneuver is now a copyrighted name since it’s originator has passed, and the family wants to profit from it. Now you might be told to do “upward chest thrusts” or some such name. It still can save a choking victim!)
I stepped in for a visit to the “innovation competition” held today. From what I saw, there are some amazing ideas out there with teamwork and creativity to make the shared projects into something that could be part of our lives in the future.
We had a combined workshop between the school board members and the county commissioners today. It was good to discuss items relevant to both boards and come with the united team. It was my pleasure to sit next to fellow district 3 representative Commissioner Roy Alaimo.
Very educational day with JaxUSA at FCTC. Learned about teaching students alternatives to careers that come out of four-year colleges.
Started with the main speaker, and then some breakout groups. Surrounding counties were represented.
Great day for Mason Elementary for receiving a check from the new 7-Eleven to be used for character counts in the school! Fun ribbon cutting ceremony and big check presentation to Principal Keaton today! (And there was cake!)
Fun “Steam” activity at Hartley elementary tonight! Families and friends used their collective minds to each make a miniature putt-putt course. Lots of creativity and cooperation!
My mother had this poem memorized and would quote it when I was young. This is the first time I saw it in print
🤍🤍
The results are in...after a long cycle and a lot of hard work and support, we can declare victory tonight!
