We are excited to announce that the Poplarville Hornets Alumni Foundation Hall of Fame Drawdown Banquet will be held Saturday, November 2nd, at 6:00 P.M. at the Blue Heron Barn Event Venue located at 377 Sam Smith Rd. in Poplarville. Tickets are available for purchase. Tickets are $100 per couple and covers dinner for two, one entry into the drawdown for a chance to win $1000, access to the silent auction, door prizes and entertainment.

Please message us if you would like to purchase a ticket(s). You are not required to attend to be entered into the drawdown.

The Alumni Foundation had the honor of hosting the #1 Celebration today on the PHS campus rewarding students and staff for their #1 High School ranking in the latest state accountability rankings!! Students were rewarded with free pizza, cupcakes, candy and drinks as well as a number of activities and time out of class! The faculty and staff was rewarded with a steak and potato lunch prepared by our Culinary Arts class!

A banquet in their honor will be Saturday, November 2nd, at the Blue Heron Barn. Drawdown Banquet tickets and more information will be announced soon!

Congratulations to Abigail Peterman on being selected as the winner of the uniform lottery sponsored by the PHS Health Council!! Students who donated used school uniforms were entered into a lottery drawing for $250! The Alumni Foundation partnered with a local business to award the prize! Thank you to all who participated and donated uniforms!

The Alumni Foundation was honored to be able to provide lunch to the teachers and staff at Poplarville Lower Elementary today for Teacher Appreciation Week! We utilized the skills of Chef Gerald Penton and his Culinary Arts students at the Career Development Center at Poplarville High School to prepare finger sandwiches and chicken strips for their enjoyment! We thank all of our teachers and staff for everything you do for students on a daily basis!

Congratulations to Kenna Graves for selling the most strawberries during the FFA fundraiser! Alumni Foundation Board Member and Owner/Operator of Grime Fighterz, Austin Darden, presented Kenna with $100 check for being the top seller! Congratulations Kenna!

For the 3rd consecutive year, the Alumni Foundation has had the honor of presenting the Poplarville School District Teacher of the Year with an award of $500! The majority of teachers and staff are made up of Poplarville School District Alumni who are pouring back into the community and district that poured so much into them! This year’s Teacher of the Year is Heidi Harriel!

Alumni Foundation President Rossie Creel presents a check for $500 to PHS Men’s Soccer Coach Luke Gipson to assist the Men’s and Women’s soccer programs with the installation of an irrigation system on their brand new practice field! Once again, we are grateful to help our Hornets!

Alumni Foundation President Rossie Creel presents CTE instructors Donna Baxter and Kelsey Campbell with a check for $500 to help with travel expenses for DECA students who qualified for National Competition in Anaheim California next month! We are grateful to help our Hornets!

The Alumni Foundation had the honor of recognizing the administration of Poplarville School District for achieving an "A" rating from the Department of Education! Each campus principal was presented with a banner to display on their campuses as well as a cake for their faculty and staff to enjoy. A special thanks to Ramey's Marketplace for providing the cakes!
It should be noted that Poplarville High School is the #5 ranked high school in the state of Mississippi and the #1 high school in the 4A Classification! It's great to be a Hornet!!

Thank you to all who attended and contributed to the Hall of Fame Alumni Drawdown Banquet last night! It was a great time and a huge success! We were absolutely honored to recognize all our newest inductees and celebrate their legacies! You are all forever etched in the history books of the Poplarville Hornets Alumni Foundation! Cindy Carroll and her staff at The Blue Heron Barn are absolute rock stars!!
