“Sitting Pelican” Unique Artist Proof (17'“x24”)
The Octopus has long been a fascinating creature to me. Their ability to transform into whatever the environment demands is so inspiring.
The balance of intent and letting go, what I like to call controlled chaos.

I have long been fascinated with the origins of surfing and surf craft. Having shaped boards from foam in the past, I thought it was time to try and create a replica of the ancient Hawaiian "Alaia".

Inspiration has many sources.
The energy of waves is endlessly inspiring. The way that water moves and changes, how it falls from the sky and mixes back into where it came from is mesmerizing. The element of water is so fundamental to our being.
"Polaroid" is a part of my series of vintage cameras. This one was based on a camera that I inherited, which I still use. The scene in the lens is a typical afternoon in Waikiki with a canoe paddling out, a surfer riding a wave, and Diamond Head in the background.
Behind the scenes in creating my largest painting to date for the Monsaraz hotel in Point Loma.
As a part of my continuing exploration into the act of searching for waves, I created this drawing of a Chevy pickup with a couple boards in the back. Reflected in the window is a barreling wave at the famous Blacks beach in San Diego. A world class pickup for a world class wave.
Afternoon on the water is often windy, and there is a lot of water moving around. The deep color of the sun beginning to set gives a sense of anticipation, as the movement of the water pulls the viewer into motion with the sea.
