The little green flying pig that greets guests upon arrival is one of my favorite details. Isn’t he just adorable?

Is there ever a “bad” time to visit the mountains? Recently, we have been asked by a few people when our favorite time to visit the cabin is. It’s a hard question to answer because there isn’t a bad time to go. Spring brings the sweeping views with pops of colors, summer makes me feel protected and adventurous at the same time, fall is Mother Nature front and center showing off, and winter brings a peace and stillness that soothes my soul. When are you coming to stay?

Staying at Flying Pig Hollow? We recommend hiking to High Falls from the NORTH trailhead. Look up “High Falls North Trailhead” on Google Maps and check out Dave’s review with directions. We suggest taking a screenshot of the review directions before heading out as you likely will lose cell service. There is a south trailhead as well but that is all steps down, which means all steps back up! 😅 *** This trail is not on All Trails and there is another High Falls in DuPont State Park, so just be careful you are heading the the correct one!

Clingman’s Dome is located on a beautiful scenic drive about 60 minutes from Flying Pig Hollow on the NC/TN border. The lookout is a half mile hike from the parking area and although steep, it’s worth it for the views.

The mountain is always alive, but she is starting to show off her color!

#1 is Dillsboro, which is Sylva’s super close next store neighbor. Come stay and easily enjoy both small towns!
