Morena ke Gajak!!
Winters and Gajak are synonymous, and yes, the Gajak has to be from Morena.
Morena is a settlement in the chambal valley of Madhya Pradesh and my Sasural being in Bhopal, the markets would be flooded with these in winters.
It's a pleasant sight to see them here too, but more of these stalls are visible in the Old Gurgaon region and this time we needed a few kilos to carry them overseas for someone missing this homegrown taste.
Walking down the streets of old Gurgaon, searching for Morena ka Gajak in the first wek of October was like a treasure hunt.
But our nose caught the aroma of ot being prepared and following it's trail we entered a narrow gali and what we experienced is a lifetime experience, sitting here in Gurgaon and witnessing the halwais of Morena craft out these delicate jewels.
