Reminder: Last week was the last sessions on Music and Movement at Smashed It Dance. please contact Dance 4 Fun at Sylvania who will be running a similar program for families 🙂

Good morning,

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this post Unfortunately, Smashed It Dance will be closing this term. LUCKY for us our teachers and most of the classes will be relocating to Dance 4 Fun at Sylvania 🙌🙌

As many of you know, I have been studying full time at University to finish my Bachelor of Education. The study load, in school pracs coming up and family commitments makes it impossible to do it all.

So what happens now?
Keep and eye on social media and emails for news about relocating classes to Dance 4 Fun. Miss Ashleigh and Miss Chantelle (from Dance 4 Fun) will be around to answer any questions.

Music and Movement will finish on Friday 28th May.
The last day for all other classes will be Saturday 12th June.

I want to say a BIG THANK YOU. This has been one of the most incredible experiences to date. I and my children have made so many wonderful, lifelong friends. The hardest part about letting you all know is coming to terms that I won't see you all each week.

UPDATE IN REGARDS TO THE NEW COVID RESTRICTIONS

EDITED at 4:35pm on 6th May 2021

We have just received clarification from the office for sport that masks must be worn for all indoor venues for everyone apart from people undertaking physical exercise. Meaning that masks must be worn before and after the dance class however, does not have to be worn while taking the class. All other staff and spectators are to wear masks.

Dancing is still on...YAY! But...

Everyone over the age of 12 will be required to wear a mask inside.
For classes on Saturday we are asking for parents to stay outside and NOT to enter the premises. Please wait for the teachers to collect the students outside the hall. After class the teachers will bring the students back outside.

Please note that teachers may need to wear a mask. If you are inside watching or assisting your child, please keep the talking to a minimum as it is hard to project voices from behind a mask.

We will have hand sanitiser at the door. Please ensure you use the COVID QR code to check in and if outside waiting for class maintain a 1.5m distance from other people.

NSW Health authorities have recorded its first community case of COVID 19 in 55 days, a male security guard. Dr Kerry Chant, NSW Public Health Officer, indicated that, at this stage, it is thought that the areas where the man visited are low risk but nonetheless, advised that we follow NSW Health Advice if you or your family have been in one of the venues outlined below.


There are a number of sites in Hurstville and surrounding areas that the person may have visited, that may affect our families so please read the below carefully.

Contact tracers are in the process of advising those who had used the QR Codes for the venues. There may be some instances where families have been to the below venues and not signed in.
