Flag Football Schedule! Times for Week 2 and 4 will be determined later. 2-3 grade will play in the East half of the new football/soccer field located at the baseball diamonds. 4-6 grade will play in the West half.

Coaches meetings were held last week and players were randomly drawn for teams! Here is this year's Flag Football roster sheet. If you haven't been contacted yet you should be soon! We will have a schedule posted tomorrow!

Bracket for our end of season tournament! Games start at 5:00pm August 25th. If you're looking for some free entertainment stop on by. Games will be held in the North East and South East fields.

Parent meeting for those registered in 5th-6th Grade Tackle Football will be Monday August 19th at 5:30pm. Meeting will be at the rec building at the ball diamonds. Anyone wanting to check out equipment over the weekend, get ahold of Marc at 785-953-0133 to set up a time. Anyone else not able to make this weekend, checkout will be at 6:00 on Monday. Directly after checkout on Monday, there will be a practice. Physicals, concussion forms, and payment must be brought before any equipment will be checked out! Also, some parents have not been receiving the group messages for some reason. If you are registered but have not heard from Coach Wagoner, let me know so we can make sure you're getting the information needed!

K-1ST Flag Football: This is an instructional league. Kids will learn the basics of football. Practices will be atleast one night a week throughout September. Practice nights will depend on coaches schedule. If numbers allow, we will scrimmage the last week!

2nd-3rd and 4th-6th Grade Flag Football: Games will be held Sunday afternoons in September. Practices will be determined by your coach. We plan on traveling to Colby one Sunday to play their teams again this season! Participants can sign up for both Flag and 5th-6th Tackle Football.

5th-6th Tackle Football: Practices will start August 19th. A KSHSAA physical must be completed before the first practice. Games will be played on Saturdays in September/October. This is a travel league, so travel to other towns is expected. Game times will vary depending on referee availability. Players in this age group can also sign up to play Flag Football on Sundays!

3rd-4th Grade Volleyball: This is an Instructional league for the girls to learn the fundamentals of volleyball. Practices will be in September and will vary depending on gym availability and the coaches schedule. If numbers allow, we will split teams and scrimmage the last week!

5th-6th Grade Volleyball: Games will be played Saturday mornings in September. This is a Travel League so travel is expected. Practices will vary depending on gym availability and the coaches schedule!

FYI: As you register for the upcoming events, you will notice the website isn't accepting payment. Go ahead and register without payment. Once this part of the site is set up, it will allow you to pay your balance. You can also pay by cash or check at your first practice! The website is new and we are new to operating the site, so please be patient with us as we make this transition!

Our 2024 State Team came back home with 4th Place! Congratulations on a successful season!

Oakley ends the game early in the 4th with a run rule over Scott City! Final Score Oakley-18 Scott City- 10. They will play in the Semi Finals against Osborne at 10am tomorrow!

Registration for these programs open Monday on our new website www.oakleyrec.com ! Everyone will need to set up an account their first time registering on our site. Info on account setup provided below. NEW THIS YEAR is 3rd-4th Grade instructional volleyball. Participants will learn the fundamentals of volleyball by practicing together. Nights are TBD and we will split into teams and scrimage the last week! Also we added a K-1 Instructional flag football age group. Same thing as the volleyball, we will meet and learn fundamentals and then scrimmage at the end of the season! 5-6 Grade Travel Volleyball will be held in surrounding communities on Saturday mornings again. Tackle Football practices will start the week of Aug 19th. All necessary equipment will be provided minus cleats. Players in the tackle football program are required to have a sports physical completed before the first practice.

It's back!! Gather your teams and get registered! Participants must be 16 years of age by July 28th. Teams can field either 6 male and 4 female or 5 male and 5 female. One coach can register that they have a whole team. Individuals wanting to play but aren't on a team can register as an individual. If enough register we will create a team! Register on our new website www.oakleyrec.com. Account setup instructions are posted below. The website is still being worked on but the registration part is active! There are separate registrations for teams and individuals, make sure you click on the right one!

I can't even begin to express how thankful I am for all of these people and groups! Also, thank you to our summer interns, Sarah Dardis and Tucker Matzek for all their hard work put in this season prepping fields and helping on game nights. I apologize if I missed anyone!

Good luck at State to our K-18 Girls who ended their regular season play on a 3 game win streak with wins over Quinter, Beloit, and Scott City! They finish regular season play with a record of 4-4 and the #4 seed at State!

July's Board Meeting will be 7:00pm on July 17th at the Rec Building!

During the last year, the Rec has been approached about taking over the Youth Tackle Football program. After multiple discussions, the board voted to adopt the program. We have been and will continue to work with the current OHS/OMS Coaching Staff and Athletic Directors to make sure we are providing the best programs from top to bottom. You will notice some minor changes this season. Priority number 1 is safety for the kids in our programs. The age group for this program moving forward will be 5th-6th Grade.

Due to multiple sports and church camps this week, we are short help and need a couple scorekeepers and one umpire for Thursday June 13th softball games! These are paid positions plus a meal at the concessions! Contact Marc at 785-953-0133 if you are interested on helping!

Join us tonight as our 5th-7th Grade softball girls kick off their season at Home vs Trego! Good luck to the K-18 Softball girls as they travel to Quinter! All games start at 6:30pm. Concessions open 6-8pm! We will have pulled pork, nachos, all beef hotdogs, and a wide variety of candy and drinks!

Both the K18 Softball vs Scott City and the 5th-7th Grade Softball vs Quinter have been cancelled for tonight and will be rescheduled!
