“There’s Only One Rule in the Jungle” - Matthew McConaughey

Every season is stout season and we have quite the treat ahead folks! May have threw a slight fermentation party with the additions of bananas, hazelnuts, cocoa nibs, raw cacao, milk sugar and Madagascar vanilla beans but it’s a promise you’ll enjoy it plus the other flavorful additions. More details to come.

Much love to the homies for allowing us to play in their garden 😜🌱🌿🪴🍀🍃🌾

Y’all ready for a Banana Split in a can?

Head over to Batch - Craft Beer and Kolaches now to pick up this decadent stout today before the weekend concludes. Ladies & Gents, we are happy to announce our collaborative release with our good friends Meanwhile Brewing Company in South Austin.
🪴🌱🌿🍀🍃🌾
Starting tomorrow February 20th at 3pm — we’ll be releasing Meanwhile in the Jungle both in cans ($20/4pk) and on draft! This Hazy IPA is laced with Columbus, Citra and Wai-Iti hops from New Zealand. To add an extra tropical punch we’ve dry hopped this IPA with Citra and HopBurst® Wai-iti from NZ Hops Ltd.
🪴🌱🌿🍀🍃🌾
With notes of pineapples 🍍 , peaches 🍑 and limes 🍋/🍈 this 6.5% ABV of an ale is pillowy soft and freshly “jucified” for your liking. We are hoping this tropical fruit bomb of an IPA can help you escape this dreadful “Icepocalypse” as warmer temps approach. What originally was suppose to be a Valentines Day release with live music, new cocktails from Meanwhile Brewing and a pop up tent from Urban Jungle Brewing to announce our location and dish out merch, we had to place those festivities to the side with all of this lingering snow and ice. Don’t worry, all of our announcements will follow next week 🍻
🪴🌱🌿🍀🍃🌾
Also the lovely folks at Meanwhile will be slanging fresh water to those in need. Please bring your own vessels to collect water if needed.

Hey y’all,
We have clean, potable water in our tanks. If you need water, bring some containers and *safely* swing by the brewery between 11am and 5pm.

We also have electricity if you need to power your phones.

❤️

18/02/2021

Hey y’all! Brewer Joe is back at it today from 11-6 providing fresh water from our tanks & a warm place to charge up your essential electronics.

We don’t have enough staff to offer food & beverage service yet. Just sticking to the essentials right now.

Stay tuned for more updates as we are able to add more services.

Please only venture out if you are close and it’s safe for you to get here. We ❤️ you, Austin! Let’s grab a beer when this is all over. 🍺

Windows of Opportunity!
🪴🌱🌿🍀🍃🌾
Defined as an opportunity to do something that is only available for a short period of time. It's something that you need to do quickly and seize the moment before the chance passes by. Basically, our approach on selecting this location to call the brewery home. This window will remain as a beautiful centerpiece to the brewery.
🪴🌱🌿🍀🍃🌾
Plotting. Planning. Strategizing. Organizing. Mobilizing. The motto to creating a new space in the craft beer industry to promote and strengthening diversity and inclusion.
🪴🌱🌿🍀🍃🌾
More details to come in this week’s announcement.

It’s funny how much this actually relates to Urban Jungle Brewing. So relatable that we have a very big announcement coming up! Every day we’ve been connecting with friends in the industry for advice, community for support and checking ourselves mentally as well as physically to bring this brewery together. Welcome to the Jungle, baby! This door is one of many that will lead everyone to a magical destination very soon 🔐

Urban Jungle (@urbanjunglebrew) is set to become Austin’s first Black-owned brewery, causing Austin's whitewashed beer scene to embrace a diverse new outlook.

“When it comes to beer and Black people, we’ve got C**t 45 and malt liquor,” says the soon-to-be brewery's founder, Shannon Harris. “That’s all that’s ever been pushed to our communities.”

Harris has committed himself to defying that stereotype by forming inroads at Austin breweries, producing countless homebrew batches, and creating a rigorous self-education program about the vast (and growing) world of craft beer. As his love of the category has grown, so has his consciousness about being the only Black person in the room— an experience he says is all too common in an industry dominated by white men.

To raise awareness about this issue (while also charting his growth as a brewer), Harris created the popular Instagram account @thebrewbrotha—a platform that’s cemented him as one of the city’s most exciting new brewmasters and a powerful advocate for taking on systemic racism in the field. He sees that as the only way to change an industry that, from its customer base to its ownership ranks, is overwhelmingly white.

“If you don’t have a diverse staff, you won’t bring in a diverse array of consumers,” says Harris, who’s already collaborated with local brands like @hisignbrewing and @redhornbrew. “People want to see someone behind the bar who looks like them, to be in an environment that’s welcoming to folks of all types.”
