What’s the only feast which falls on a new moon?

It's the Feast of Trumpets/Yom Teruah!

Christians over the centuries have separated themselves from their Hebraic roots causing the misunderstanding of key Hebraic Biblical idioms. (An idiom is a figure of speech.)

When Yeshua uttered the words concerning the Messianic Era in Matthew 24:26, "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in Heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father", He used a common Hebraic idiom referring to a specific Festival -- Feast of Trumpets/Yom Teruah.

It's the only Feast which begins on a NEW MOON. Messianic Believers understand this is more than a normal new moon. In Matthew 24 and 1 Thessalonians 5 "The day that no man knows" is a reference to the Feast of Trumpets.

If the weather (clouds) didn't cooperate at the beginning of Yom Teruah, it became impossible for the two witnesses to call the new moon which is a sliver at that time. The priests had to wait until the next day to begin the Feast. SO NO MAN KNEW THE DAY OF THE FEAST IN ADVANCE. This feast became known as the "DAY OR THE HOUR THAT NO MAN KNOWS."

Do not be deceived when told you are "not to judge". Scripture provides an understanding of what it is to be a righteous judge:
• “Do you not know that the saints [the saved] will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!” (1 Corinthians 6:2-3)

"Of His own will he brought us forth by the WORD OF TRUTH/TORAH, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of His creatures" (James 1:18).

IT'S ABOUT OBEDIENCE

It's not complicated. We keep the Commandments out of love, not obligation or for salvation.

"He who possesses My Commands and keeps them, is he who loves Me" (John 14:21).

"His commandments are not grievous/burdensome" (1 John 5:3).

“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments" (John 14:15).

I know I struggle from time to time with loving the "unlovely/unloveable", we all do. But, at the end of the day, it's about obedience.

James' instructions on righteousness: "This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God/Yahweh. Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. But prove yourselves DOERS OF THE WORD, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his [d]natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. But one who looks intently at the PERFECT LAW/TORAH; THE LAW OF LIBERTY AND ABIDES BY IT, not having become a forgetful hearer but an EFFECTUAL DOER, this man will be blessed in what he does" (James 1:19-25).

"For it is not those who hear the Law who are righteous in God/Yahweh’s sight, but it is those who obey the Law who will be declared righteous" (Romans 2:13).

"But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God/Elohim. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?" (James 2:14-26).

"For seven days eat bread made without yeast and on the seventh day hold a festival to the LORD" (Exodus 13:6).

The Messiah rose on the Feast of First Fruits and when He did, he fulfilled the Feast of First Fruits.

Jesus/Yeshua is the First Fruits:
✿ He is the beginning of the creation of Yahweh (Revelation 3:14)
✿ He is the first-fruits of the resurrected ones (1 Corinthians 15:20, 23)
✿ He is the first-born of Mary (Matthew 1:23-25)
✿ He is the first-begotten of the Father (Hebrews 1:6)
✿ He is the first-born of every creature (Colossians 1:15)
✿ He is the first-begotten from the dead (Revelation 1:15)
✿ He is the first-born of many brethren (Romans 8:29)
✿ He is the first born of the dead, never to die again (Colossians 1:18)

God/Yahweh commanded His people to always commemorate their great deliverance from Egypt through the Passover meal. "And this day will be a memorial for you, and you are to celebrate it as a feast to the LORD, as a permanent statute for the generations to come" (Exodus 12:14).

Paul instructs Believers to keep Passover, "Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth" (1 Corinthians 5:8).

Believers were instructed by Messiah as well, to continually remember His sacrifice. "For I received from the LORD that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus/Yeshua in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me." In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me" (1 Corinthians 11:23-25).

Albeit Lily and I follow the original lunar calendar and know true Passover falls on May 5th this year, we don't hold back still worshipping, mourning, and thanking our Savior on the Gregorian calendar dates.
Of course it's everyday for us!
Here's a little insight to the etymology of Passover:

Nisan 14 marks the beginning of this seven-day celebration, which includes:
1. Passover, the day Yeshua/Jesus was crucified, and is the first festival on Yahweh's/God/Yahweh's calendar.

2. Feast of Unleavened Bread – Leaven or yeast represents sin and we are to remove all yeast from our homes for this feast. We need Yahweh to live this "yeastless" lifestyle and the only way we get that is through the atoning blood of Yeshua.

3. Feast of First Fruits is Yeshua's Resurrection. Yeshua was the first to rise from the dead with a new body. So He is the "sheaf", the first of the harvest, that is waved before Yahweh in celebration and with thanksgiving.

Yes, every day is a good day to worship! We must remember to worship in Spirit and Truth. “Through Jesus/Yeshua therefore, let us continually offer to God/Yahweh a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name” (Hebrews 13:15).

Hebrew word “moadim” means “Appointed Time”. Because we can worship every day, does this mean we are to disregard and replace Yahweh’s Appointed Times?

Paul and the disciples kept the Appointed Times and Feasts. The Gentile believers of the first century were attending synagogues, observing the Sabbath and the Feasts. Unlike today, they knew their prophetic significance. Paul confirms this in I Thessalonians 5:1 "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I write to you."

Yahweh has specific times we are to set apart and come together as an assembly for worship. These never changed. Yet, today most of the church is in ignorant in the understanding of these days. We have been told because we can worship every day, we don’t need to keep Yahweh’s Appointed Times.

The Sabbath is one of the Appointed Times and is a perpetual covenant (Exodus 31:16). The Feasts of the LORD points to Yeshua’s past, present, and future, and is a picture of the redemptive work in our lives.

We have ignored Yahweh’s instructions, replacing them with traditions of men, mingling the worship of Yahweh with pagan images and rituals. “No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God/Yahweh. And I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the LORD and the cup of demons too; you cannot partake in the table of the LORD and the table of demons too” (1 Corinthians 10:21).

“They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’ You have disregarded the commandment of God/Yahweh to keep the tradition of men.” He went on to say, “You neatly set aside the commandment of Elohim to maintain your own tradition. (Mark 7:8).

THE TRUTH ABOUT "CHRISTIANITY"

The word “Hebrew” is Ivrie. The root letters mean to cross over or pass through. God/Yahweh’s chosen people identified themselves as Hebrews. Abraham was the first person to be called a Hebrew, even though he was from Ur of the Chaldaeans (Genesis 11:31). Abraham crossed over from being a worldly Babylonian to becoming a child of God/Elohim (Galatians 6:16; Ephesians 2:11–13 & Romans 11:11-13).

Once saved, you become a child of Abraham (Galatians 3:29) and one who has crossed over like Abraham.

Over time words can add meanings. Originally the word "Hebrew" was used to describe the physical descends of Abraham. Today, those who called themselves Messianic often refer to themselves as Hebrews. Because the most important characteristic of a Hebrew is a willingness to cross over from former lives in slavery and death to a life in covenant and loving obedience to God/Yahweh.

"If you belong to Christ/Messiah, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise" (Galatians 3:29).

"But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in (to believing Israel) among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches (Israel). If you are, remember it is not you who support the root (Abraham, Issac and Jacob), but the root that supports you" (Romans 11:17-18).

When evil seems to triumph, we are disheartened. We want justice. Sometimes it seems that evil has prevailed:
"From those who enjoy doing evil and rejoice in the twistedness of evil" (Proverbs 2:14).

We want to see judgment where God/Yahweh destroys evil. Although, judgment usually does't come immediately. We are told to trust and wait on the LORD:

Discernment is seeing the difference between truth and error. It is the ability to think biblically. Discernment is the faculty of discerning, discrimination, acuteness of judgment and understanding.

Scriptural discernment is to examine, prove, test and scrutinize. It's not what seems right, but what measures up to the Word, not anything else:

"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1).

"But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil" (Hebrews 5:14).

"And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ" (Philippians 1:9-10 ).

"But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil" (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22).

Our nursery tale version of Noah's ark is incomplete. There were two of unclean and seven (pairs) of clean animals: Then the LORD said to Noah, “Enter the ark, you and all your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this time. You shall take with you of every clean animal by sevens, a male and his female; and of the animals that are not clean two, a male and his female; also of the birds of the sky, by sevens, male and female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth.” (Genesis 7:1-3).

Also, overlooked is that Noah knew the difference between the clean and unclean animals long before the distinction given in Leviticus 11. Clean animals were animals that God/Yahweh approved for consumption.

"And you shall . . . make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the edible creature and the creature which is not to be eaten" (Leviticus 11:46-47).

Faith and obedience go hand-in-hand. Faith is the condition of our acceptance. Obedience is the evidence of our faith. Saving faith obeys, “Faith without works is dead” (James 2:26).

Salvation is a free gift, but does not give Believers the license to rebelliously practice willful sin (1 John 3:4-6). Those who are born of God/Yahweh cannot continue in sin (1 John 3:9)! Obedience is acting according to faith.

Spiritual maturity is tied to obedience: "For this is the love of God/Yahweh, that we obey His commandments and His commandments re not burdensome" (1John 5:3).

We are seeing occult teaching mixed in with Yahweh’s Word even in the Messianic movement. Appearing respectable, smart, authoritative, moral, or nice does not mean what a teacher says is true.

To have knowledge of God/Yahweh is to fear Him, to fear Him is to obey Him. Obedience brings discernment. There is only one truth and that is Yahweh's Word/Torah:

➜ STUDY THE WORD "Study to show yourselves approved" (2 Timothy 2:15).

➜ BE A FRUIT INSPECTOR "You shall know them by their fruits" (Matthew 7:16).

➜ BE A BEREAN Be Don't not accept everything you hear as truth even in the Messianic movement. Go to the Word and see if it is true, "Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so" (Acts 17:11).

ETYMOLOGY IS CRITICAL TO UNDERSTAND THE MYSTERIES OF THE WORD

The obvious question is would God/Yahweh instruct us to “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy,” if it was impossible to know which day we should remember?

1- “The seventh day is the Sabbath” (Exodus 20:10).

2- Jesus/Yeshua knew: He “went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day” (Luke 4:16).

3- Jews have been keeping the same Sabbath from sundown Friday night to sundown Saturday night for over 3000 years.

4- The calendar changed once, in 1582, from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar. Thursday, October 4, was followed by Friday, October 15. This change did not affect the weekly sequence. Most calendars still show Saturday as the seventh day.

5- In over 100 languages the name for the day that we call “Saturday” is “the Sabbath.” For example, “Saturday” in the Spanish language is “Sabado,” which means “the Sabbath.” In Italian, it is “Sabbato,”which also means “the Sabbath.” In Russian it is, “Subbota.” In Polish, “Sobota” , etc. Interestingly enough, in Ghana the day for Sunday, literally translated, means “White man changed this day!”

6- Webster’s Dictionary: “Saturday: the 7th day of the week.” “Sunday: the first day of the week.”

7- The World Book Encyclopedia: “Sabbath … It comes on Saturday, the seventh day of the week.”

Sometimes God/Yahweh heals instantly (miracle); most times healing is a process. Ultimately, Yahweh is our healer as He designed our bodies to self-heal (when we give it proper fuel).
► There is a Scriptural foundation for healing:
1. Read Scriptures concerning healing every day, especially when doubt comes to your mind.
2. Speak the blessings of Yahweh.
3. Then stand on His promises. Yahweh's promises are yes and amen.
"Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers." (3 John 1:2)
"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him." (1 John 5:14-15)
"For I will restore health unto you, and I will heal you of your wounds, saith the LORD." (Jeremiah 30:17)
► There is a biological foundation for healing. The Father gave us everything needed for health.
"Then God/Yahweh said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food"" Genesis 1:29
Life began in a garden! God/Yahweh designed food for heath: raw fruits and veggies. If you are sick, 100% plant-based diet will reset your body. Yes, the Father gave directions for which animals may be consumed after the flood, but if you're ill, return to the original garden diet. Your body will be nourished and sustained back to the manufacturers design.

"Repent" doesn't mean change your mind and just being sorry. Repentance involves an action, not just a feeling:
"Repent, then, and turn back (to Torah), so that your sins may be wiped away" (Acts 3:19).

"I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God/Yahweh in repentance and have faith in Jesus/Yeshua" (Acts. 20:21).

Say to them, 'As I live!' declares the LORD God/Yahweh, 'I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways!" (Ezekiel 33:11).

“Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death” (2 Corinthians 7:10).

It's important to know what the Scriptures says, not what other people think it says. People's opinions don't matter: "I feel", "I think", I believe". It’s not what a Scripture “means to me,” but rather what God/Yahweh meant.

When the teachings of men conflict with the Word of God/Yahweh, it would be wise to go with Yahweh.

The Bereans in Acts 17 diligently searched the Scriptures, seeking to learn if the Gospel Paul was preaching to them was true. We may be certain they held a common "orthodox" interpretation of the Scriptures they read by which they measured what Paul was saying.

There are basic rules of Hermeneutics or interpretation. First and foremost, context is king:
1. Scripture Interprets Itself
2. There is Harmony within the Scriptures
3. Contextual: Cultural & Historical Perspective

Today, we run into problems when we ignore Yahweh's Rule: Do Not Add or Subtract from Scriptures. We readily accept the "traditions of men" rather than the "Commandments of God/Yahweh" (Matthew 15:9).

Walking with God/Yahweh isn't always easy. In fact, Scripture says this is so, "For when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we were to suffer affliction; just as it has come to pass, and as you know" (1 Thessalonians 3:4).

"Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which comes upon you to prove you, as though something strange were happening to you" (1 Peter 4:12).

In following Messiah we have hope for a better future, as well as hope in this lifetime.

We no longer walk in the ways of the world (2 Kings 8:27; Ephesians 2:2; Colossians 3:7). In the New Testament, walking with Yahweh is often called "walking in the Spirit" (Galatians 5:16; Romans 8:4).

We apply 1 Corinthians 10:31 literally, "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God/Yahweh." Yahweh’s ways are reflected in our thoughts, our actions, our motivations, and our life choices because we spend so much time with Him.

"In fact, this is love for God/Yahweh: to keep His commands. And His commands are not burdensome" (1 John 5:3).

"If you love Me keep My Commandments" (John 14:15).

"And this is love: that we walk in obedience to His commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love" (2 John 1:16).

It's idolatry not only to worship a false god, but the true God/Elohim in a false manner.

It is satan who changes the LORD's Appointed Times/Moedem, "He will speak against the Most High and oppress His saints and try to change the set times and the laws" (Daniel 7:25).

Does it make any sense that the Father would command these Feasts forever -- and enforce them in the future Millennial Kingdom on pain of plague -- and not have them binding today? Today's church accepts and cherishes the enemy's substitute worship days and instructions.

Only in the Scriptures can we find the truth about Elohim's will for worship. The Most High God/Elohim has a schedule of appointments with His people. Elohim has given us instructions on how He wants to be worshiped and what days we are to keep.

Moedim are the LORD's "Appointed Times", not the Jews (Leviticus 23:2). The entire Master Plan of Yahweh revolves around the Messiah. Jesus/Yeshua’s life, ministry, sacrificial death, resurrection and role as King of the age to come is the focal point of Yahweh’s grand purpose on earth. This plan and purpose are revealed in His Feasts.

His Feasts were just as much a part of His Law as the Ten Commandments. Let us be like the Apostle Paul, who said, "I must by all means keep this feast."

One cannot serve two masters choose wisely as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. and remember we reap what we sow so for every choice we make we will reap the consequences whether it be positive negative Godly ungodly good or evil... and in the same respect weather would be positive negative Godly ungodly good or evil in the measure we give, we will receive in the same measure

The Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) are opposite to the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21). The Fruit of the Spirit are a natural growth in lives filled with the Spirit/Ruach haKodesh.

Our spiritual growth must be a continuous maturing in grace and an ever-increasing knowledge and understanding of our Messiah/Yeshua.

Each person must decide if they will be filled with the Ruach haKodesh or with the works of the flesh. God/Yahweh does this sanctification process in us, through the Ruach haKodesh, but the choice is up to each Believer. Yahweh respects each person's free will. We can be confident that He is faithful to complete a good work in you (Philippians 1:6).

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law (Galatians 5:22-23).

"Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus/Yeshua Christ" (2 Peter 3:18 ).

Truth is a matter of God/Yahweh’s Torah! If you want to know the truth, grow in wisdom and knowledge read Yahweh's Word.

The Sabbath is mentioned from Genesis to Revelation. Apostles did not do away with the 7th day Sabbath. Yeshua said “the Sabbath was made for Man (not only Jews) in Mark 2:27.

It is recorded in the book of Acts they kept the Sabbath 85 times! Why keep the Sabbath?
✔ It points us back to the Creator: Genesis 1-3
✔ God/Yahweh created rest: Genesis 2:2-3

Jesus/Yeshua said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them (fulfill is an idiom which means to uphold or establish).

The Law is not evil. It serves as a mirror to reveal the condition of our hearts (Romans 7:7). John 1:17 says, “For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus/Yeshua Christ.” Yeshua embodied the perfect balance between grace and the Law (John 1:14). In addiion, we have been given the means to overcome sin by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit/Ruach haKodesh.

GRACE:
● IS SUFFICIENT
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 corinthians 12:9).

● ABOUND IN GOOD WORKS "God/Yahweh’s grace makes us sufficient to abound in good works" (2 Corinthians 9:8).

● RUACH HAKODESH ENABLES
The burden of it is not ours. The Holy Spirit/Ruach haKodesh enables us to pursue righteousness, while having complete peace with Him. "I can do everything through Messiah, who give me strength" (Philippians 4:13).

● FREE FROM THE POWER OF SIN
The freedom grace gives is not freedom from the Law, but freedom from the power of sin. “In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God/Yahweh in Christ Jesus/Yeshua. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God/Yahweh as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace” (Romans 6:11-14).

● NOT A LICENSE TO SIN
“They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God/Yahweh into a license for immorality and deny Jesus/Yeshua Christ our only Sovereign and LORD” (Jude 3-4).

To understand what it means to be “grafted in”, we must look to the First/Old Testament, which is the dictionary for the Second/New Testament. The olive tree in Scripture refers to the House of Israel in covenant relationship with Yahweh.

Gentile believers are grafted into believing Israel. There is only one people of Yahweh. No ethnic group is granted preference and no ethnic group is excluded. In the eyes of Yahweh all the chosen are one people.

"But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. Note then the kindness and the severity of God/Yahweh: severity toward those who have fallen, but Yah's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for Yah has the power to graft them in again. For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree" (Romans 11:17-24).
