Demolition Means Progress
World class melancholia with major 7th chords! Dryly Peppy - The Current
Classic Guitar Pop - The So Lovesongs has been described as reminiscent of R.E.M.
Demolition Means Progress is comprised of guitarist and lead singer BJ Bonin, Mike McCloskey on drums/vocals, Grant Martin on bass/vocals, and Kristi Hatterschide on violin/vocals.. Their third album "Undefined Horizon" was released in September of 2020. Demolition Means Progress released their second album "Lovesongs for Saboteurs" in February, 2016. The LP features songs about an impossible work
Art imitates life? We wrote "Stars" about celestial events in Bemidji and here we have a celestial event in Bemidji.
Meteor likely caused bright light, boom in Bemidji A bright light followed by a loud boom in Bemidji Monday night had people wondering what was going on. The Beltrami County Emergency Communications Center received numerous reports of a loud explosion and bright flash in the sky before 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13. Reports of people seeing, hearing and...
We had some shows plus an EP in the works, but they are now on hold as BJ has to go overseas for work. Assuming they let him back in, we'll pick things up in 2024.
Thanks everyone for coming out tonight!

August is just around the corner, and we have shows!
Saturday August 5th at 10K Brewing in Anoka MN
Friday August 18th lunchtime at Waterworks Park downtown Minneapolis!
Hello Anoka! Saturday August 5th at 10K Brewing.
Also, we have a song coming out on a Depeche Mode tribute compilation.
Details for both coming soon!
1. We're almost done mixing our song for Phonophore Records' Depeche Mode tribute project! We still can't tell you which song it is (it's not Never Let Me Down Again- we're covering that one for ourselves), but we can say that dramatically different than the original. We channeled Chopin, The Who, and Tears for Fears when we recorded it.
2. We're also nearly done recording "Greed", a new song for our next record, and it sounds like Gang of Four.
3. Don't forget about our show on April 20th at the Driftwood in Minneapolis!
We're hard at work recording our next record, plus something special for Phonophore Records!
We start recording our next record in less than two weeks!
Also, we're booking shows for the spring and summer. Our next one is April 20th, details to come...

Wow, so proud to play w/this crew. Give Difference a listen on Spotify;)
Hey everyone! we are dropping a single, with the B-side "Difference" appearing on the streams tomorrow (it's already up on Bandcamp and Soundcloud), and the A-side following soon.
We had this idea to release a single on 7" vinyl, with a happy side and a sad side, using the hole as the nose of a face printed on the label (one side happy, the other sad). Fun fact: pressing vinyl is expensive. We're releasing it digital only for now.
"Difference" is the sad side. It features business jargon lyrics over sad chords, some backwards guitar parts, a sad violin, and roaring coda.
Give it a listen and let us know what you think of it!

Due to a recent horrible experience with breakthrough Covid, we are going to put off indoor shows for a while. We don't want to put anyone through that, so we are going to write songs and maybe put on an outdoor show this winter. In the snow. Where its cold but air moves.
