Damn, this year just flew by huh? Me & The Wanted are taking 2023 out at The Retro Ju**ie in Walnut Creek. It's been a while since I've played in CoCo County, especially Walnut Creek. That was my adopted stomping grounds when I lived in Dublin. It'd be great to see some of you folks from those "Abernathy's" days, as well as from my hometown of Richmond, friends from El Sobrante & Pinole...on in to Oakland, Hayward, Castro Valley and the 680 Corridor. Opening the show is a dear friend, one helluva guitar player, Al Smith. Joining Al onstage will be a couple of brothers that I've had the pleasure of playing with many times, in several different types of music, the Salinas Brothers, Steve & Pep.
Show starts early, and again, IT'S FREE!! We're guna have some fun y'all.

JOHNNY GUNN & THE WANTED BIO

Johnny Gunn is a Multi-Platinum Singer/Songwriter & Grammy Nominated recording artist, he is a seasoned musician who has written songs with Eddie Money, Tommy Castro, Tim Murphy, and has fronted bands, including Puro Bandido, The HazeXperience, The Royal Doggs, The Tomkatz and Back Road, He has performed and/or recorded with Eddie Money, Vince Gill, Paul Rodgers, Eric Martin, Cowboy Troy, Gypsy Rose, members of Tesla, Night Ranger, Metallica, Santana, Journey, Tower of Power and Cold Blood. His versatile style of singing and playing guitar comes out in his performances. And now, with the band he calls "The Wanted" backing him up, the live shows continue to get better. They will be performing songs from his catalog and some choice covers.

THE WANTED is:
John MacGregor, Keyboards/Vocals - "No synths", B3 and Wurlitzer guy, and a multi-instrumentalist, John has written, performed and/or recorded with Arm & Hammer, and music icons such as Marty Balin.

Larry Hart, Bass Guitar - has toured with Montrose, The HazeXperience, and has performed with Eddie Money, Bobby Kimball, Paul Shortino, Dizzy Gillespie, Chuck Mangione, and has recorded on numerous projects with Jeff Northrup, King Cobra and numerous artists to date.

Paul Branin, Guitar/Sax - has toured with Levon Helm, and backed up Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and others while working with Levon, as well as played with Rick Danko and Garth Hudson. He's also worked with jazz legends Jimmy McGriff, Hank Crawford, and Jack DeJonette. Other bands include Orleans, Robbie DuPree as well as numerous local and regional acts on both the East and West Coasts. He plays saxophone with Bay Area legend Lydia Pense and Cold Blood as well as New Orleans funk drummer icon Zigaboo Modeliste.

Raul Vargas, Drums - has been playing since 1972 specializing in Jazz, Rock, Latin, Funk and Soul music. He has opened for Ricky Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis, and George Thorogood. He has played throughout the United States in many bands including "JOEL", a Billy Joel tribute band and "Bump City" a Tower of Power tribute band. He is well known in Northern California as a solid player and is reunited with his high school bass player in Johnny Gunn & The Wanted. Stay tuned for this dynamite duo!

Christine Weber, Vocals - is known as "Miss Powerhouse", she has toured overseas entertaining our troops, and the Far East performing on big stages with Mo Betta Blues (featuring Earl "Good Rockin" Brown), has opened for major Rock and Blues acts, such as Tower of Power, The Temptations and Tommy Castro to name a few.
