Happy Saturday to you 👋
We are back to help you find new accounts and maybe a new Instagram bestie!
Together, let’s create and grow a supportive social space for all SEND parents to connect and support each other 🥰
Being a SEND parent is absolutely amazing but at times it can also feel like you have been put in maze with no exits whilst being chased by a giant chicken nugget 🤣
Even though friends and family try and be supportive unless you’re living a similar journey it is really hard to relate. Sometimes we just need to hear “omg me too!”.
Finding friends in your phone who you can share the sh*t show days with, talk to at 3am when you’re both still awake and share the minor yet bloody brilliant moments, is priceless!
Having someone who just gets it can be our life line!
So let’s just gather on a Saturday introduce ourselves and get .
There are no rules, just introduce yourself and follow the peeps who you want to.
To help us reach more families you can help us by sharing this post to your stories giving this post a shout out then go tag crazy in the comments to let your friends know about

“I love you, just the way you are”
Something we all love being told, with no if’s or buts attached.
Just being loved for being who we are, our differences and similarities is a feeling like no other.
Loving an autistic person opens our eyes to a whole new way of seeing and engaging in the world. Isn’t that fantastic!
Double tap if you agree ❤️
What we need more of is acceptance.
Acceptance that autistic children and adults see the world differently, may need difference approaches to support their learning and daily living needs.
Acceptance that it’s US that needs to changes. It’s US that should make adjustments, seek out information to make us better care givers, teachers, neighbours.
We need to accept autistic people for their individual selves and see their many many strengths and be there ready to support them with the areas they find difficult. We need to respect their feelings wishes and desires.
What does acceptance mean to you?
What difference would it make to your family?

Tag a friend who is doing an amazing job at being a special needs mum ❤️
You are so much more than just mum - you have to be your child’s advocate, their physio, their speech therapist, their ally, and you have to fight to make sure they have access to everything they need to get the best care, support for them to be able to fulfil their potential.
It’s a lot! It’s draining, emotionally and physically but full of such highs and lot’s of love.
This is just our little way to show we see you, we appreciate you and want you to know you are doing an amazing job!!
Taking the time to tag a special needs mum who is doing an amazing job could make a difficult day that little bit better. We all need to know we are appreciated x
Please take a few seconds to tag a fellow mum I am sure they would really appreciate it xx

Hey!!
We have been super quiet on here as our lives have been the definition of stressful!
We have been bumbling away in the background doing orders but haven’t had the energy to give Insta our attention.
Life just gets chaotic at times doesn’t it!
Hope you are all well and enjoying the small glimpses of sunshine ☀️

Just a Friday reminder that you are AMAZING!
Whether your mum bun has been in action all week and you have lost your patience and screamed like a banshee it’s ok!
Parenting is definitely a marathon that has its ups and downs but it’s worth every bit of effort.
At times it’s so easy to loose sight of the positives.
So here’s our reminder that you bloody rock simply got just being you!
Tag a friend below and tell them why you think they are amazing!
Sometimes we need to hear it to believe it about ourselves 🥰

Share if you agree!
Let’s get this conversation started!
Carol vordaman appeared on a segment of This morning today and spoke about how a school deemed her son ‘unteachable’ at the age of 5. He’s gone on to get a masters degree so that says something!
He was labelled as disruptive and his mum was told the school could not teach him.
There is so much wrong with that statement. The definition of unteachable is unable to be taught. NO ONE is unteachable.
We need change! We need this not to be a common occurrence. No one should have to fight against the system to be heard.
If a child is being disruptive the narrative of teachers, educators, parents, carers should be;
•What is the Why behind the behaviour?
•How can we help?
•What can WE change to support you?
•What are WE doing not doing that is causing this?
What training do WE need to access in order to better understand how you think, how you learn and what you need.
Until this narrative is the first point of call and not discipline then we will continue to fail children. As the adults it’s us that need to adapt and change in order to support the child in the way they need.
In terms of schooling this narrative will not mean that every school placement will work out in the long term but what it will mean is that the the journey is collaborative and the child and family are supported, listened to and the focus is on solutions not problems which makes such a difference.
What’s your thoughts? Tell us below…

Inclusion is a biggie isn’t it!
It’s a word that’s banded about but is it really understood?
It can mean different things to different people and look different depending on what’s needed (that’s a lot of different isn’t it!)
We could of written about so many different things that come under the inclusion umbrella but we wanted to talk about the things we hear as teachers that make us hold our heads in our hands.
Inclusion is at it’s most basic, including everyone as equals.
In a classroom this is one of the hardest parts, as it can be like juggling 32 balls with one hand whilst standing on a marble ( it’s also the thing that we both love!)
Although tricky there are however, things that can be easily addressed through having more openness to change. Changing how we think, how we teach and how we address all of the needs within the classroom.
Asking the question what do you need as a starting point? Then from the answer plan the activities and teaching around what is needed. This is much better than asking ‘what do they need to be able to join in with the class’. It’s about us being fluid with how we teach and not expecting everyone to fit in with us.
We have both worked with children from nursery up to post 16 so have seen the full range of ages. In our experience having open discussions in the classroom about our similarities and differences is key.
We should not be afraid to say the word disabled or disability. It should be spoken with as much ease as we say any other word. If the conversation around disability is started with children at an early age inclusion will be easier to achieve.
Children are so open to learning and full of questions allow them to ask the questions and use this as a way to discuss why some children need extra support, physical aids, why they stim, why they need to sit on a chair or why they look different.
If we find doing this difficult we need to ask ourselves why?
In the comments please let us know what situations around inclusion you have faced or what inclusion looks like to you.
⭐️ Share and spread awareness and understanding.
⭐️ As soon as the phrase ‘non-verbal’ is said people may make judgements and assumptions about a child’s ability and intelligence.
⭐️ This is so wrong! Non-verbal means that they currently don’t communicate through speech end of…. Don’t assume incompetence assume COMPETENCE but just in another form of communication.
⭐️ We have both been lucky enough to work with children who are non verbal but have SO MUCH to say!
⭐️ Non verbal does not mean no communication it doesn’t mean has no understanding and it certainly doesn’t mean quiet!
⭐️ It’s our job as adults and society to make adjustments and to change the way we communicate to support those who are non verbal to have the opportunity to communicate as well as their peers who are verbal.
⭐️ Other forms of communication are different not less.
⭐️ In the comments finish the sentence Non verbal does not mean………..

🍁 New Resources 🍁
Autumn is here and it’s the perfect time to add some new symbols to your repertoire!
I just love autumn and going on nature hunts and trails! Having symbols to support really adds interests, promotes shared attention and gives context to the words we use.
I went on a walk to get some ‘action’ shots and nearly got attacked by a group of very hungry squirrels 🐿 check out our stories!
To order all you have to do is message us and we will do the rest.
Tell us below what you think of the new resources

Life can be overwhelming at times but even on the darkest days there’s always a c***k of light!
Taking time to acknowledge the one positive in the middle of all the tough stuff can really help to keep your mindset positive.
So let’s share something positive that’s happened in the last week or share a positive about a friend 🥰🥰

We want to help everyone communicate!
We are starting to work on visuals for those who prefer to use visuals with text. With the help of some very ace people we are trialling these communication cards which can be worn on a lanyard or slipped in a pocket. The aim is to support those who suffer with mental illness, Autism, ADHD, selective mutism and Anxiety!
We welcome ideas on what would be useful so comment below or fill our DM’s guys!!

Let’s have a laugh!
As teachers we find ourselves saying some hilarious sentences we thought we would never utter as a teacher.
Here are just a few
💬 Can you stop eating the carpet please
💬 We wear clothes in the classroom.
💬 Poo stays in the toilet, give it to Miss Michelle please.
💬 Glue sticks are not for eating
Now your turn!
What have you said that you never thought you would as a parent?

DID YOU KNOW?? The brain processes visuals 60,000 times faster than text?
That's pretty fast!
Regardless of whether you're verbal or non verbal, neuro typical or neuro diverse - we can all find things overwhelming and tricky at times!
Visuals help to make life just that bit easier!
Have you ever tried following someone's verbal directions to the beach? We've usually lost the plot after the first line...but give us a map and we can work it out in our own time!
Don't even get me started on trying to put up flat pack furniture without a picture to follow!! 😱🤯
Regardless of where you are on your visual journey, we can help!
We can design and make personalised visuals to suit your needs.
Implementing visuals might just make your life that bit easier!

Want to know how to prepare your child for going back to school?
It can be an anxious time for parents and children!
This anxiety can be hightened for neuro diverse children and their parents.
Parents ….
Will they be ok?
Will they cry?
Will the teacher know what they need?
Children…..
Will my classroom be the same?
What will the toilets look like?
Will my jumper smell like home?
Here are a few ideas that can make the transition a bit easier for everyone.
👉🏼 Wash the school uniform and take out any scratchy tags. It'll make it softer to wear and smell familiar.
👉🏼 Start your new routine before the actual day. Talk about school, walk or drive past it and point it out but don't make a big deal of it. Just start making it the 'norm'.
👉🏼Have picnics in the kitchen using their new lunchbox, allow them to get used to how it looks, feels, smells and master opening it and closing it as well as the containers inside
👉🏼Be prepared. Use visuals or social stories to help. Have photos of the school, staff, new classroom, coat pegs, toilets etc, have them lying around so the child can access them over time and start to process and recognise key features. Less surprises on the first day!
Here are some of our bundles that might help with the back to school transition -
🌟 Daily routine bundle - seeing what's going to happen throughout the day can help reduce stress and anxiety.
🌟Social story - these can be made personal to the child and include as many details as necessary to help prepare them for school.
🌟 Calendar countdown - start using it a week before school begins.
