We have been a little quiet over here the last few months as circumstances in my personal life have completely changed... with a baby on the way! 👶🏻💕

With that exciting news comes the difficult news of New Moon for now and the coming future. As sensitivity to smell (ironically) and overall sickness were very strong in my first trimester, pouring was not an option. My second trimester brings a new position in my day job to adjust to and slowly turning our spare room (aka the candle cave and stock room) into a babies room. Because of this, New Moon needs to be put on the back burner until all this newness is more settled.

The timing of getting pregnant 1 month after starting this business was a blessing but also caught me off guard by not being prepared for the symptoms I was about to experience that would really slow things down to a stop. That being said, I am so excited to be a mom and at this time, my energy and focus needs to shift.

Thank you all SO much for an incredible launch, feedback, reaction, and continued support over the last 6 months.

So.....we need to clear house to make some room for baby! Everything on the website is that last of it and from now until we sell out, everything is 15% off!

In closing off this year and first month of business, I thought this would be a good time to introduce myself here 🤗

I’m Lisa - owner and maker of New Moon Candles!

Candles have always been a weakness of mine - I am shamelessly that person sniffing all the candles in my sight wherever I am. When the harsh paraffin candles I would buy started giving me constant headaches, I discovered soy as a more natural and cleaner option. Over the last few years I’ve lost a bit of my creative side, so trying my hand at making my own soy candles seemed like a perfect fit. It definitely was more of a science than I thought, but I instantly fell in love with the art of it.

For a while now I’ve been working on the craft and got to a place where I wanted to share what I’ve been working on with other people! Making something with my own hands and putting it out into the world has definitely been one of the most vulnerable feelings I’ve had, but I’m so glad I did it.

I’m so grateful for the support from everyone over this last month and I’m so excited for this coming year to see where New Moon is headed! 💫

For those sensitive to scents or who light candles mainly for ambiance - Neutral is here for you 💛

Always trim your wick to 1/4 inch before every burn! Natural cotton wicks will tend to mushroom a bit on the top and it’s super important to trim that off. This makes sure you get a clean burn with no soot or smoking. It also allows your flame to be at the proper heat and length 🔥
