Happy Mother's Day

Luke 7:36-50:

Jesus is invited to eat at the home of a Pharisee named Simon. While they are eating, a woman who is known to be a sinner enters the house and approaches Jesus, washing his feet with her tears and anointing them with ointment. Simon thinks to himself that if Jesus were a prophet, he would know what kind of woman this is and not allow her to touch him. Jesus, aware of Simon's thoughts, tells a parable about two debtors who are forgiven by a creditor. He asks Simon which of the two debtors will love the creditor more, and Simon replies that the one who was forgiven more will love him more. Jesus then turns to the woman and points out that she has shown great love and devotion to him, whereas Simon, as the host, has not even offered him water to wash his feet. Jesus forgives the woman's sins and tells her that her faith has saved her.

The main point of this passage is that Jesus is more concerned with the heart of a person than their outward appearance or reputation. The woman, who is considered a sinner, shows great love and devotion to Jesus, while Simon, a respected Pharisee, is more concerned with appearances. Jesus is also emphasizing the importance of forgiveness and the idea that those who have been forgiven much will love much.

1. Social media; Social media platforms have become an integral part of many youths' lives. While these platforms offer opportunities for connection, creativity, and information sharing, excessive usage can lead to life wastage. Scrolling through feeds, watching endless videos, and constantly checking notifications can consume hours of valuable time hence wastage of life.
