South African Police Discovers 20 unidentified bodies outside Klerksdorp.
The South African police has found twenty unidentified male bodies, wrapped in white plastic bags, and with severe body burns on Monday, 14 and Wednesday, 16 June 2021.
These bodies were found at separate locations in Orkney outside Klerksdorp.
The police recovered six of the bodies outside an old and unused mine shaft ventilation in Lawrence Park, Orkney. The remaining bodies was discovered along Ariston Road near the railway line in Orkney.
All the deceased are suspected to be illegal miners commonly known as “zama zamas” operating in obsolete shafts in Orkney and Stilfontein.
Post-mortems will be conducted to determine a cause of death for these men.

Zimbabwe Re-imposes Lockdown too curb Covid-19 Surge.
Zimbabwean government on Monday will reintroduce a lockdown as a way to curb rising coronavirus cases in the country.
Vice President Constantino Chiwenga Announced this 12-hour curfew Saturday night on national television.
The vice president who doubles as Zimbabwe’s health minister, said all gatherings except for funerals would be banned starting Monday.
Only 30 people would be allowed at funerals as he blamed complacency for the recent spike in cases of covid-19.
He said, “Our vaccination against in COVID-19 is going on very well.., "The country is however experiencing a surge in cases.
The last seven days has seen 596 new cases and 26 deaths, as compared to the same period in May last year where we had 132 cases and six deaths.”
He said this may look a bit draconian, but the measures are necessary to save lives, It is important that the people of Zimbabwe should embrace these measures.
He stressed that, citizens eligible for vaccination to come forward and willingly get vaccinated if the country is to move towards achieving herd immunity, and the vaccination target of at least 60% of the population which translates to about 10 million Zimbabweans.
South Africa Plans to Regulate Crypto in Phases

As retail interest surge, South Africa seeks to, by tightening rules, curb growing cases of fraud and market abuse, and improve the management of cross-border flow of assets.
Crypto assets will be brought into the South African regulatory purview in a phased and structured manner. however, reiterated that with or without regulation, crypto assets remain inherently risky and volatile.
The South African Reserve Bank is considering electronic legal tender for general-purpose retail use.

Millions of different types of seedlings were distributed in Ghana’s 16 regions.
“As part of the programme, we are seeking to work out a formula where the trees to be planted will be economic trees. We are talking about the Timber, Wawa, Neem, Rosewood, Shea trees. The rationale for this intervention is so that in planting the trees, we are also investing for the future,”- Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, Ghana’s Lands Minister.
The government aims to plant the trees mostly on degraded land.
Nigeria: Armed gunmen kill 1, abduct 10 from a Polytechnic.
At least 10 people have been kidnapped, and one person killed in Kaduna state, north-west Nigeria, after an armed gang attacked a college on Thursday night, as reported by local media and confirmed by the police.
In a memo on Friday ,signed by the Acting Registrar, Mahmud Aliyu Kwarba, students were asked to vacate the school premises.
” This is to inform all students and the entire Polytechnic Community that following the sad incidence of attack by Kidnappers that occurred last night which created serious tension amongst students, the management of the Polytechnic has suspended all academic activities indefinitely... Students are to vacate the school premises immediately".

The United States on Thursday condemned the Nigerian government for suspending Twitter, and called on the African nation to reverse its decision.
This was made known by U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said in a statement.

South Africa expels Lesotho diplomats over sale of prohibited alcohol. The illegality has been described as an abuse of diplomatic privilege.
The foreign affairs ministry said South Africa has given the diplomats and their families 72 hours to leave the country.

COVID-19:
90% of African countries will miss the September target to vaccinate at least 10% of their populations against COVID-19.
Africa requires an extra 225 million doses to be able to vaccinate a tenth of its population as a third wave of the pandemic looms on the continent.
Matshidiso Moeti, the WHO regional director for Africa, at a weekly news briefing said,
"With vaccine stocks and shipments drying up, the continent's vaccination coverage for the first dose remains stuck at 2% and at about 1% in sub-saharan Africa".
"Vaccines have been proven to prevent cases and deaths, so countries that can, must urgently share COVID-19 vaccines. It's do or die on dose sharing for Africa."
