𝙄𝘾𝙔𝙈 | Ma'am Sheila Marie T. Apostol, the esteemed Regional Coordinator of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council, and Ma'am Imelda T. Decena, the accomplished Project Development Officer III and Standards Section Head at the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 02, recently conducted an insightful seminar on "𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙅𝙪𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙅𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙛𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝘼𝙘𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙖𝙬 (𝘾𝙄𝘾𝙇) 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧(𝘾𝙑𝙍𝙍𝘾𝙔)" on May 11, 2024.

This seminar was attended by Bachelor of Science in Social Work Students of SJCB, who showcased their passion for advocating for the rights and well-being of vulnerable youth. Under the guidance of Ma'am Sheila Marie T. Apostol and Ma'am Imelda T. Decena, these students gained valuable insights into the complexities of the juvenile justice system and the importance of effective case management for CICL.

Ma'am Sheila Marie T. Apostol and Ma'am Imelda T. Decena, through their mentorship and expertise, empowered these social work students to become future leaders in the field of juvenile justice and welfare. Their guidance and support have equipped these students with the necessary tools and knowledge to advocate for justice, equality, and rehabilitation for CICL.

As we celebrate the seminar's success, let us recognize the remarkable efforts of Ma'am Sheila Marie T. Apostol, Ma'am Imelda T. Decena, and the whole BSSW Students of SJCB. 𝙄𝘾𝙔𝙈 | A successful seminar on " 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮-𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙞𝙨𝙠 𝙍𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩" was held on May 11, 2024, bringing together prominent speakers Sir Narciso B. Corpuz and Ma'am Minaflor B. Mansibang. The event, attended by enthusiastic participants, primarily comprised Bachelor of Science in Social Work Students of Saint Joseph's College of Baggao.

Sir Narciso (Pong) B. Corpuz, the LDRRMO III (MDRRMO), shared valuable insights into the role of gender integration in disaster risk reduction. Sir Pong highlighted the need to recognize the unique vulnerabilities faced by different genders and the importance of inclusive approaches in disaster management. His engaging presentation called for empowering women as active agents of change in building resilient communities.

Moreover, Ma'am Minaflor B. Mansibang, the Social Welfare Officer III OF DSWD R02, tackled the pressing issue of climate change. She highlighted the impacts of climate change and the urgent need for responsive strategies in mitigating and adapting to climate challenges. Her thought-provoking insights awakened the social work students to the critical role they can play in addressing climate change.

The seminar provided a platform for social work students to gain knowledge, foster collaboration, and actively contribute to gender-integrated disaster risk reduction and climate resilience efforts. It equipped them with practical insights and strategies to promote gender equality and inclusivity in their future roles as effective social workers.

Held last April 20, 2024, we had the honor of having Conchita R. Maddela, Officer II at the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (Regional Office 2), as the esteemed Resource Speaker, supported by Ms. Kazleen M. Tumaneng, Labor Communications Officer.

This enlightening seminar delved into the complexities of international migration, shedding light on the challenges faced by migrant workers and the legal frameworks in place to protect their rights. Through the lens of OWWA's Program on Integration and Welfare Services, participants gained valuable insights into the crucial support systems available to migrants.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Maddela and Ms. Tumaneng for their outstanding contributions and dedication to advancing social work in the context of migration. Their expertise and insights have equipped us with a deeper understanding of the issues and empowered us to foster inclusive environments for migrants.

𝙄𝘾𝙔𝙈 | Police Corporal Judith A. Galla, an exceptional Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) Investigator stationed at Baggao Police Station. Her commitment to upholding the provisions of 𝙍𝘼 9262, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙣𝙩𝙞 𝙑𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝘼𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 𝘼𝙘𝙩 𝙤𝙛 2004, is truly commendable.

On April 20, 2024, Police Corporal Galla exemplified unwavering compassion and determination in her mission to protect the rights and well-being of women and children. Her tireless efforts in investigating cases, providing support, and advocating for justice are making a lasting impact in our community.

𝙄𝘾𝙔𝙈 | Sharing an inspiring seminar experience with Ma'am Chanda T. Api, RSW, a remarkable Division Chief at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Policy and Plans Doctor of Public Administration. The seminar's empowering theme "𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩" tackled the importance of promoting gender equality and inclusivity in our society.

Held on April 13, 2024, SJCB Bachelor of Science in Social Work Students delved into thought-provoking discussions, fostering a deeper understanding of gender dynamics and the significance of providing gender-responsive support.

Ma'am Api's expertise and passion ignited a fire within us to challenge gender biases and dismantle systemic barriers. Her insights shed light on the pressing need for gender-responsive policies, programs, and services. We left the seminar equipped with powerful tools and strategies to actively contribute to creating a more equitable society.

𝙄𝘾𝙔𝙈 | Honoring 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙅𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝘼. 𝙂𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙖, a passionate investigator at the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), dedicated to safeguarding the rights of the vulnerable. The theme centered around "𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙄𝙣 𝙀𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮 𝙎𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨," shedding light on the urgency of ensuring safety amidst crises.

In this seminar held on April 13, 2024, Bachelor of Science in Social Work Students gathered to gain valuable insights into effective measures needed to protect children during emergencies. Heads Up Ka-JSWAP|| 2023 Oath Taking Ceremony of Newly Registered Social Workers in Region 2 , was held at GTA Bldg., Pagulayan St., Balzain East, Tuguegarao City, on November 18, 2023, with the theme "Onward Agile Social Workers: Signifying Commitment, Exploring Pathways, and Moving Forward Beyond Experiences."

SJCB Bachelor of Science in Social Work Pioneers, namely Mr. Jerick Kate Gawiran, RSW, and Ms. Virginia Lacuata, RSW, attended the 2023 Oath-Taking Ceremony of Newly Registered Social Workers as part of their success for passing the Social Workers Licensure Examination (SWLE) held last September 2023. Mr. Jerick Kate Gawiran, RSW, one of the passers, expressed his words of inspiration on how his dreams came into REALITY.

This significant event symbolizes their commitment to serve the community and promote social welfare. On this solemn occasion, they pledge to uphold the values of compassion, integrity, and respect for the dignity and worth of individuals.

We, the Junior Social Workers Association of the Philippines National Council advocates and protects LGBTQIA+ safety, access to identity- affirming healthcare and appropriate facilities, rights to housing, rights to employment and much more. As we have reiterated always, LGBTQIA+ rights are human rights - and we must do better to turn equity into reality.

We will always be with you as we raise awareness of the issues faced, creating a safe space for LGBTQIA+ people, building and supporting the community, encouraging/supporting acceptance and inclusivity!

I am (Name) from (Regional Chapter) of the Junior Social Workers' Association of the Philippines National Council and I am one in breaking the barriers by empowering individuals, groups, and communities to provide a better service to humanity.

As we celebrate World Social Work Day 2023 with the theme: "𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬", we promote overcoming challenges and have a strong desire to assist different communities, our nation, and our world for a better place for all.

As social work students, we strive for knowledge and excellent skills to have great potential in helping people to help themselves. A social worker provides the proper knowledge, creative mind, and a good heart to extend helping hands in delivering quality services and approaches in the most effective and efficient manner to individuals.

We social workers are the hieroglyph of the future. Together, we sustain goals and create powerful changes by empowering thousands of lives for a better generation.

The social work profession requires purity, genuineness, empathy, positivity, care, and love to be an effective social worker.
