Food is a basic human need, a source of nourishment, and a fundamental pillar of well-being. However, for many communities worldwide, securing a consistent and nutritious food supply remains an ongoing struggle.
👉Limited Access to Traditional Food Networks
👉High Food Prices
👉Nutritional Disparities
👉Environmental Impact
👉Lack of Entrepreneurial Skills
👉Vulnerable Groups..are interconnected issues that contribute to this persistent problem.
We are proud that the entreYOUTH project managed to address these challenges through a comprehensive curriculum, training resources, and community engagement initiatives, and it empowered youth workers to become agents of change!
+
Did you know?🤔
Because of the problems that arose with Covid-19 and have persisted since, prices are disproportionately high compared to average income levels. This means that even when food is available, it may be unaffordable for a significant portion of the population, leading to malnutrition and hunger.
+
Did you know?🤔
Marginalized communities often find themselves geographically isolated or economically disadvantaged, leading to limited access to traditional food supply chains. These communities may reside in food deserts, areas with few or no grocery stores, leaving residents with no choice but to rely on less healthy, processed foods.

🌍🍽️ The UN marks the 29th of September as the International Day of Awareness on Food Loss and Waste, with this year’s theme being called “Reducing food loss and waste: Taking Action to Transform Food Systems”. 🌱🌎
🌱 Entreyouth is dedicated to equipping youth with the know-how and experience to provide added value in alternative food networks by embedding sustainability and circular economy practices. 🌿
🚀 Our project is also proud to announce the launch of our “Community food-sharing cloud platform.” 🌤️
Through this platform, individuals, supermarkets, companies, restaurants, etc., can announce any food surplus and declare its availability. 🥦🛒
🤝 Additionally, people in need, NGOs/cooperatives that deal with urban/community redistribution, waste selectors, and processors can sign up to request food demand. 🤲♻️
📚 Lastly, the platform also contains links to the curriculum created covering the basics of circular food economy and food enterprising, as well as the Train the Trainer Toolkit (TTT) created for youth workers, combining different elements and pedagogies, built on the EntreComp competence framework. 🎓

What is Circular Food Enterprising?
Circular food enterprising, also known as circular food systems or circular food economy, is an approach to food production, distribution, and consumption that aims to minimize waste, reduce environmental impact, and create a more sustainable and efficient food system. It is inspired by the principles of the circular economy, which seeks to eliminate waste by designing products and systems that promote reuse, recycling, and resource efficiency.
The entreYOUTH project is on a mission to bring together businesses and young entrepreneurs as part of its activities to create circular food enterprises!

When a group of people have a common goal and come together to achieve it, this is called teamwork. Although each member performs a specific task, everyone is on the same page.
The idea is to ensure that everyone's efforts optimise the ex*****on time of the tasks. The understanding and unity among the members will translate into better results.
For that reason, teamwork requires everyone to be focused on their respective tasks in order to achieve the proposed objectives.
Benefits of teamwork:
Development of assertiveness, a social skill that allows you to clearly and respectfully state your opinions, beliefs or emotions. Being assertive will also help you to defend your rights, but respecting the opinion of others.
Strengthening interpersonal relationships.
Working towards the achievement of established objectives in order to reach the proposed goals.
Managing emotions. In a work group, emotional intelligence will be your greatest ally. When faced with a difficult moment, you will be able to think more clearly and not let yourself be carried away by your impulses. In addition, you will also be able to deal with the constructive criticism that will arise.
Development of empathy, you understand the emotions, feelings or thoughts expressed by your colleagues.
Acquisition of skills such as leadership, critical thinking and creativity, three skills that will be in greater demand in large companies by 2025, according to the World Economic Forum.
If you walk alone, you will get there faster. If you walk together, you will go further.

How are Community Gardens Revolutionizing Urban Food Provision❓
👉Community gardens serve as gathering places for individuals and groups to cultivate fruits, vegetables, and other goods.
👉They promote sustainable food practices by reducing pesticide and fertilizer use through organic farming techniques.
👉They contribute to cutting food transportation emissions by encouraging local food production and consumption.
👉They foster a sense of community and inclusion in urban areas, breaking down social barriers and cultivating connections among neighbors.
👉By working together in community gardens, people form relationships and support networks that extend beyond the garden itself.💯
Overall, a community garden can be a rewarding way to contribute to your community while also promoting sustainable food practices and healthy living!
So, why not finding a community garden near you and get involved today?👌

Dare to put into practice an excellent way to reuse and recycle organic waste, promoting the circular economy from your own home!
More than half of the waste we generate at home is organic. It is in our hands to reuse it, and composting is one of the best ways to start.
When we do home composting:
➡️We reduce a large amount of organic waste that would end up in our cities' landfills.
➡️ We obtain one of the highest quality fertilisers for our plants, without pesticides, herbicides or chemical products.
➡️In short, it is an easy way to create more environmentally friendly crops for our planet!
