What an AMAZING weekend for our team! We had seven boats compete in the Lake Oconee tournament, and we had anglers on site at the Ogeechee Seafood festival, volunteering their time to get back to the community! We are so appreciative of our sponsors and boat captains for giving us this opportunity this past weekend, and look forward to many more!

We are super proud of Carson Goode for his presentation last night about preparing for a tournament! Eliot (his dad) had part of the presentation and also just supported Carson.

It was a great presentation and great information for the anglers and the captains. He touched on different aspects of preparing including before you leave Richmond Hill to what to do during practice and how to tackle preparing for the tournament.

Let's talk fish care. We will still be dealing with warm water temps this weekend so icing down live wells will be important. Cooling live wells 5-8 degrees and maintaining that throughout the day will drastically improve the chances your fish go back to be caught again another day. See the table as a reference on how much ice to cool your livewell gallons. Add ice and recirculate. After several hours do a water exchange to flush and add ice. Every boat should leave the dock with ice for your live wells. Ice is cheap but the resource we love is not. Let's take care of them for the next kid to catch.

Here are the 20 Anglers competing in the Georgia High School Kayak Fishing State Championship next weekend at Waterways. Its been a long season and these Anglers are ready for the Championship. Families & Coaches will start arriving around Tuesday. If you see any of these Anglers out around town, Congratulate them and welcome them to our Community. Thursday June 1st kicks off our 4 days of Events. All this is made possible by so many great sponsors. I cant Thank them enough. RHHS Wildcats have 14 Anglers that are competing. On May 14th at the SAF Georgia High School Kayak Fishing Tournament at Lake Lanier our Wildcats showed out once again for the final regular season Event. They had another great Event taking 4 of the 5 Top Prize Categories once again.

Congratulations to Owen Osden for the Win and also for Big Fish of the tournament. Owen took home over $400 in prizes

2nd Place goes to Branton Champion. Branton took home over $160 in prizes.

3rd Place goes to Ryan Fitzgerald. Ryan took home over $140 in prizes.

4th Place goes to Aiden Pluff. Aiden took home a prize pack from NRS of $90
