Elizabeth Warren: ‘The Organ Transplant System Overall Has Become A Dangerous Mess’ 17/08/2022

We are deeply troubled by this testimony .... organs treated worse that airlines treat luggage.

One contractor has the contract to coordinate all organ donations and has had the contract for 36 years without being challenged nor replaced.

They have not disciplined bad players nor offered oversight as Senator Warren says "because you have never faced any competition."

It is a monopoly receiving millions of dollars from you and me.

There is a fear that they would ruin the transplant system if another oversight organization is selected.

Listen to these few moments of testimony.

Megan is still cooking but she would love to meet that special person with an O+ blood type who is willing to share a kidney with her. Megan would love that person forever ... oh wait, Megan already loves everyone forever!!

Are you that O+ person or do you know the special loving giver of life ready to donate??

A kidney transplant from a pig to a human has worked. What you need to know 25/04/2022

Someone shared this article with me yesterday ....

A kidney transplant from a pig to a human has worked. What you need to know Surgeons at New York University’s Langone Transplant Institute have successfully performed a pig kidney transplant to a human. Can this save human lives?

Today is WORLD KIDNEY DAY and it is another incredibly sad day for our family because even with a few momentarily optimistic moments we have not had a loving caring person with an O+ blood type to step up to hug Megan with a life-saving gift of a kidney.

Now, it is not all bad because Megan is doing great and it is easy to forget at times that there is a ticking time bomb going on inside of her. Those small kidneys continue to lose their functionality day-by-day but thankfully she is still on peritoneal dialysis so her care can be at home and in the evening while she sleeps.

Megan loves to hug ... Megan loves every single person she has ever met and frankly, she is known for those loving hugs of hers!! Megan knows she needs a kidney ... she wants to get back to living life as Megan rather than limited Megan. She wants to sleep over at her sister's ... she wants to go to Paris ... she wants to live.

Because there is no immediate threat, Megan's team is not interested in kidney donations from those who are 55 or older because our kidneys would only last a few years inside Megan and then she'd have to go through all of this again.

If you have ever thought about being a life-giving hero we ask that you pray about being a donor for Megan (You must have an O+ blood type.). If you have any friends who have ever talked about being a living organ donor then please call them and please share this on your social media.

Please be sure that your driver's license and family know that when you finally take your last breath that you are willing to have your organs donated to someone like Megan (She has about 3 more years on the kidney list until she is at the top of the cadaver list of donors.)!

If you have questions please call our kidney team at Jefferson. Their telephone number is 215-955-6734.

and use this hash tag on your posts at least today ... World Kidney Day

This showed up in a post today but immediately it made me think of Megan Delaney !

She lives each day with joy and love and laughter not knowing what the time ticking kidney inside of her has in store.

It's the season of giving and thankfully Megan is in the best possible health she could be in thanks especially to her mom, Donna Delaney . But, Megan desperately needs someone with an O positive blood type to be willing to share life by donating her a kidney. We only need one kidney to live but Megan's kidneys only survive because of peritoneal dialysis.

think about it ... pray about it ... oh and if you are 55 years and older forget about it because Megan's kidney team wants her kidney to be one that will last for a good number of years and are older kidneys won't do that.

Can you give the gift of love this season so that Megan has more days to treasure?

Please pray with us!

A young and healthy O+ potential donor has stepped up for MEGAN!

We are only in the initial steps but this is the best news we have had; a wonderful birthday gift!

26/08/2021

Megan Delaney is the SHARK TALKER!

Thanks to the ARC of Atlantic County, Megan and others get out on the "high seas" out of Cape May once a year.

This is Megan's third straight year of reeling in sharks. This year she caught seven including this Tiger.

Now, if finding an O+ kidney donor was as easy for Megan.

Keep spreading the word...do you have a friend or family member who has always sensed having a higher purpose on their lives? A call to being a living donor.

20/08/2021

Today Ms. Megan has another birthday ... she will wake up connected to a peritoneal device that insures that she is able to celebrate her special day. However, she will have to reconnect to the machine in the early evening at a time when most of us would be finding ways to celebrate our birthdays.

We are praying and hoping that this will be the year in Megan's life when someone special will share life by donating a kidney. Of course we know the giver of life must be O+ and not any other blood type.

There are several celebrations planned for Megan and her beautiful smile will be shining!

Are you the one she is waiting for or perhaps it is one of your family members or friends? Think about it. Pray about it. Ask your needed questions.

Megan is doing all she can to keep a smile on her face! She is maintaining her kidney friendly diet and lifting up prayers that some incredible person with an O+ blood type has the gift of a kidney for her.

As we move out of the global pandemic, once again it is time to think about who you know who has talked about being an organ donor. Some very special person with a huge heart and two strong kidneys who is willing to share one kidney to extend Megan's life.

Please help us spread the word ... Tell the people you know that there's this amazing young woman with an incredible smile who is waiting for a kidney (She still has about 3 years or more to wait for a cadaver kidney on the two kidney lists she's on.).

There are many good reasons to continue to wear your mask ... you just might be carrying the virus that can end the life of someone whose immune system is weakened.

To those obstinate objectionable people who somehow feel so put upon by wearing a mask ... would it bother you if you were the one who ended the life of someone whose life was saved by a transplant?

Squishmallows Are Taking Over 24/03/2021

One truth about Megan is she loves to hug people! These months since the global pandemic began have been sad months for her but if we get vaccinated hugs will be returning.

Who knows we might need to ask for proof of vaccination to get a bonus Megan hug.

But, we know what Megan really needs and it's a KIDNEY HUG from someone with an O+ blood type.

This story reminded us of the amazing person Megan is ... have you thought of someone you know who might be the perfect kidney donor for Megan?

Are you considering donating a kidney?

If you are, here is some basic information for you to consider:

1. You should be in good overall physical and mental health.
2. You must be 18 years of age or older. Older donors (55+) are usually not the first choice for potential recipients but there are always individuals in critical need of a kidney so even an older kidney would be a gift of life to them.
3. Medical conditions such as: uncontrolled high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, certain infections, or an uncontrollable psychiatric condition may prevent someone from being a living donor.
4. Most medical expenses associated with living-donor kidney transplants are covered by the recipient's insurance. Depending on financial eligibility, donors may qualify for assistance with travel expenses, living expenses, and other non-medical costs related to their donation (Megan's transplant groups all offer such compensation.).
5. Research shows that there are few IF ANY long-term effects on a living kidney donor. Your one remaining kidney can efficiently and completely meet all of your body's needs. (It is important to have annual check-ups with your personal doctor and go to follow-up appointments with the kidney team.).

There are experience professionals who can answer questions you might have. Megan's teams have designated individuals to help make your donation to Megan a success (Remember O+ blood types only.).
