Abandoned WNY - Urban Exploring
Welcome to the Abandoned WNY Page. I’m Sean and love documenting abandoned places all over WNY.
Hey there, Id like too Kindly remind everyone to NOT name the location of the places I post (for our enjoyment.) saying what or where an abandoned building is putting it in jeopardy. Kids will go, vandals will go, scrappers will tear it apart, fire bugs will damage these places beyond repair. Please, please, please out of respect to those who came before us, those who built these beautiful places with their blood sweat and tears, DO NOT NAME THE LOCATION. I have these rules for good reason and in my exploring career I have seen way too many historical buildings absolutely destroyed. Thank you again.

NOTE - NO VANDALISM

Please note that the true name of this location has not been disclosed to prevent theft, vandalism, and arson. Abandoned buildings are vulnerable and I do not want my work contributing to their decline
Update!!! Todd has been located safely!! Thank you for every post, share, and tip that was called in.
Please help us locate Todd Wright, who has been missing since April 10th. He was last seen at 4265 Genesee St. and might have 1 or 2 dogs with him. Wright may be suffering from a mental illness, and his family is concerned about his well-being. If you have any information, please call 716-686-3501.
J.N. Adam Memorial Hospital - ENJOY
LOCATED BEHIND FENCING ON PRIVATE property in Perrysburg, New York, are the remains of the J.N. Adam Memorial Hospital. They still stand, despite having laid empty for years, yet another historic hospital site that’s too expensive to remove or rehabilitate.
The hospital was opened in 1912 by a former mayor of Buffalo, New York, James Noble Adam, who also owned the J.N. Adam & Co. department store. Its primary purpose was to treat victims of tuberculosis. This hospital was known for what was called the “Sun cure,” or “heliotherapy.” This involved relying on the rays from the Sun to help cure the patients of their disease.
In 1960, the hospital was converted from a tuberculosis hospital into an institutional mental facility. It finally closed its doors for good in 1993 and has not been reopened since. Officials have looked into tearing down or refurbishing the remaining structures at the site, but since both options would cost millions of dollars to implement, no one has been willing to pay, and the site continues to deteriorate.

A guest room at the abandoned Fallside Hotel in Niagara Falls, NY. Fallside Hotel was a key part in Niagara Falls tourism industry and when that slumped the hotel eventually closed. The abandoned Empire Hotel in Sharon Springs, NY. The Empire Hotel was one of many hotels in a town originally built because of the belief that the area's sulfur springs were curative. Abandoned for years, the Empire collapsed in 2019.
