HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
One Town One Sport Ph joins the nation in celebrating the International Women's Day. Women are taking the lead in nation-building through sports, like the Philippines' first Olympic Gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz, among others.

This month, One Town One Sport Ph has plenty of activities in store to celebrate all the Juanas of the nation. Mabuhay!

Today's Physical Welness activity was graced by Ms. Jamie Lim - twice SEA Games champion (gold medalist) and a Summa Cumlaude in UP Diliman. She talked about getting the kids to dream, persevere and do your best, leaving the kids with a reminder na "Mag-aral ng mabuti".

We are equally grateful to One Town One Sport Movement Philippines for the brief talk on why hydration is so important, followed by the distribution of water bottles to all participants.

Central Judo Club hosts the 1st Batang Maynila Invitational Judo Tournament

This February 2023, Central Judo Club (CJC) will host the “1st Batang Maynila Invitational Judo Tournament”. Founded by Sensei Anghel Mira in 1963, CJC was re-established in 2019 through the initiative of the Philippine National Judo Team led by Head Coach Franco Teves. The team promotes the sport in the grassroots level, immersing in marginalized areas with disadvantaged background to build positive identities and relationships and break from the stigma of discriminative and oppressive stereotypes. Trainings are free of charge. This endeavor holds the promise of the team slogan – Judo for All. Pilipinas, Isog! In 2022, as COVID-19 restrictions were slowly being lifted by the government, CJC was granted a venue to put up a dojo in Sampaloc, Manila with the help and approval of Ms. Janet Kho Alcoran (Barangay 545 Zone 54) and Ms. Guia Castro (Barangay 484 Zone 48). CJC was recognized by the City of Manila through the efforts of Councilor Joel “JTV” Villanueva.

With a total membership of almost a hundred and of various ages as young as seven (7) years old, kids who spend most of their time under the heat of Manila sun and its busy streets are now given a space to develop their strength and potential, and a shot at possible future scholarships through said sport. CJC was able to produce one (1) scholar, Adrian Cadampog, currently enrolled in the University of Santo Tomas, and trains three (3) scholars, Jhenica Raijah Serrano, Aisaac Lordee Alcantara and Amare Vicente, currently enrolled in the National Academy of Sports. CJC also aims to produce future members of the Philippine National Judo Team.

The 1st Batang Maynila Invitational Judo Tournament is a celebration of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and friendship among judo athletes as young as seven (7) years old from different LGUs nationwide. Said tournament will run on February 18 – 19, 2023 at the Dapitan Sports Complex, Sampaloc, Manila as matches start at 9am.
