New leather key fob pattern I made this week. The natural color one was first, you can see the stitching is better on the second and third fobs.
3D printed blaster, put some resin on to decrease the print lines. Now I’m on to sanding. I’ll be making a leather holster for this once complete.
Completed the core of the helmet today minus dye/color.
I’m working on a new pattern this week. An armored helmet. It’s more intricate than anything I’ve done before. I’ll keep posting pictures as I make progress. This is the middle portion of the core helmet.
Steel City Con March 31 - April 2, 2023, we’re there this weekend.
Two knife cases I completed yesterday from a leather pattern I created. One for a Buck knife 110+ and the other for a Buck knife 112+.
I used a 5-6 oz (~2 mm) vegetable-tanned leather. The belt loop and back/closure were exact to the pattern. The front piece that covers the knife was wet molded to the knife and was a little larger to hang over the back piece. This was trimmed before beveling and burnishing.
Tip: cover your knives in plastic wrap when wet molding to protect your knives. This also gives you a little more space in the case for fit.
I took some better photos this evening. Also posted the bag on my website.
These are the items I’m working on leather case patterns. The knives will be separate but I’m going to make a combo for the multi tool and flashlight.
Tonight I’m continuing work on the sunflower bag. I’ll also be designing some cases for a couple knives and a multi-tool/flashlight holder.
I worked on these cases the past weekend.
Painted and dyed the lid for the sunflower bag last night. Put antiquing gel over it also.
Sunflower bag progress - finished tooling, next dye and paint.
*Sunflower bag update*
Progress last night after the initial picture. Beveling around the edges.
I received an order for a mask last night so I’ll have to continue progress after the order is complete.
New bag in progress. Tooling sunflowers 🌻.
Finished this cover for a zippered wallet today. Tooled leather, airbrushed, and painted. Enjoy!
Creating a Sporran bag from scratch. I created the pattern, artwork, and now I’m working on the physical bag. Cut and punched the holes first. Next tooled in the design, dyed the leather, sanded the surface, placed and cured the glue, added gold leaf, pulled and brushed off the excess, and sealed it with resolene. I’ll finish putting it together tomorrow.
I’ll be posting this purse on my website soon. I need to take some more photos.
