I want to make jewelry not just because it’s aesthetically pleasing, but for a real purpose: to help people find their stories and in turn, their inner strength.

Hey lovelies! I hope you're all in good health and good spirits. ❤️ ⁣

I wanted to let you folks know that the QC Order form will remain closed until further notice. Unfortunately, that means I won't be able to make any holiday orders this season, but you can still shop at other small businesses! 💕⁣

For those who have already placed their orders and who haven't been contacted, I will be in touch soon. In the meantime, stay tuned for some photo shoot content by the lovely 🥰 ⁣

Thank you for the love & support. Stay safe! 💕

To everyone that liked, commented, shared, and bought jewelry from Quartzy Crystals between July 16-August 16: thank you, thank you, thank you! I received a total of 31 orders, with 50% of the proceeds totalling an incredible $463.25 in donations to Black Solidarity Fund.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Since its launch back in June, The Black Solidarity Fund has received over $800,000 and counting. This $463.25 donation will make a difference to the 70+ charities, including Africville Museum, Tropicana Community Services, Nia Centre for the Arts, and the Remix Project (more organisations have been tagged in the second post). These charities span across the country and are advancing social, cultural, economic and political opportunities for Black Canadians. The full list of charities is in my bio.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We all have a roll to play when it comes to fighting anti-Blackness. I’m a strong believer in doing what you can with what you have. I love making jewelry with a purpose and this time the purpose was more than just reminding us of our inner strength; but lending strength to the Black community. ⁣

Thank you again to all of you who contributed in some way to this initiative! Love you all. ❤️

I woke up today thinking about all the times I (un)knowingly let fear of ridicule, judgement and failure stop me from doing what I wanted to do. And then I remembered all the times I did push past my fear and how happy I was doing it. Living in comfort will get you no where. Taking risks is where you grow. This post isn't just a reminder for all of us, but an affirmation that I'll be using to continuously push myself past my boundaries - even when I'm scared or uncomfortable. When was the last time you did something that scared you?

The last few months have taken a major hit on the collective Black psyche as we see the blatant disregard for Black life and feel the traumas unfold in our communities and abroad. ⁣

Anti-Blackness is everywhere, it's seeped into our media, education/justice/healthcare systems, and the way we perceive the world. Unconditioning our minds to understand that these systems do not protect us all is a lot to unload because it also means throwing out old ways of thinking - but it HAS to be done! Lives are at stake. I can't stress enough how important it is for all of us to put our collective effort into creating change and supporting our Black community. ⁣
I began Quartzy Crystals as a self-healing journey for myself that eventually turned into making jewelry for others to find their own inherent strength and power. Right now, our spirits may be low, but I want to do everything in my power to help my Black community embrace their strength. From July 16 - August 16, 50% of the total profit made from Quartzy Crystals orders will be donated to CanadaHelps’ Black Solidarity Fund. The fund includes more than 50 charities supporting Black people across Canada (check the link in my bio).

Now is the time to make the change; commit yourself to helping those who have been underrepresented and whose voices, ideas and LIVES have been stifled. Quartzy Crystals wouldn’t be where it is without the support from you all. Please show the same love by continuing to donate, follow, buy from, attend events for and sharing content from other Black businesses, creatives, organizations and movements. ⁣

Graphic by the amazingly talented Black graphic designer ! Thank you once again for helping bring my vision to life.❣️
