Do you know those projects that you assume are going to be incredibly difficult? And then you do it and it turns out that it’s exactly as hard as he thought it was going to be? Possibly worse? This is one of those!

After this incredible Scott Walker was damaged in shipping, I was tasked with repairing the finish (thanks to ) then on to completely rewiring this to accommodate a new set of controls :
Master Volume
Tone controls for each pickup
switch 1 Single/parallel/humbucker switch 2 Coil Tap Bridge
switch 3 Phase
Switch 4 Effects Loop on/off

While I was in there I upgraded the pickups and properly shielded the electronics cavity, everything sounds great and is nice and quiet.

once upon a time I would’ve rather rebuilt this entire instrument before I would even take a crack at trying to rewire something like this. I’m really happy with the way that it turned out.

Ahh , the dreaded stripped truss rod. 😱 be kind to your truss rods and make sure who ever is working on your stuff has ALL the Allen wrenches. New truss rod replacement, beautiful full refret ( by .pickup.truck ) and new Quarter Pounder bridge pickup.

I can only claim credit for the basic shape and silhouette of the body on this bass but I’m still very proud of it. asked for my help for this amazing gift she made for . It makes me super happy to be able to contribute to a really cool guitar made by one incredible, talented person for another incredible, talented person.
