The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Cellular On Patrol Program would like to welcome our newest members of our team, this COP Training Course and Workshop was held at the East Patrol Substation. Members also received additional skills in CPR and Tourniquet Application.

These skills can be taught to your community by the BCSO Deputies and COP program members.

Our Cellular on Patrol Program is a unique and exciting program that gives residents an opportunity to work closely with law enforcement to make their neighborhoods a safer place to live.

COP Member Christina gave her time today assisting Sheriff Javier Salazar and Deputy Hernandez with SCORE unit co-facilitating a Scam and Fraud Awareness Presentation to the VFW Post 4815 veterans and community members.

This presentation can be given during your HOA meetings or stand alone awareness for your neighbors in your communities and can be taught by our COP members.

We were out this evening giving the Southton Meadows community a presentation of our Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Cellular On Patrol Program in Southeast Bexar County.

We received numerous applications and inquiries about getting a program started!

Members of our Cellular on Patrol Program were out in Balcones Creek supporting a back to school drive.

Our members were able to network, recruit and unite with community members in and around this area of Bexar County. We had a lot of fun today and were appreciated by the community.

Several of our Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Cellular On Patrol Program members came out to the newly developed Brookstone Community off of Evans Road and presented COP Program information to enhance community safety in this area by recruiting new members and providing safety tips.

Walnut Pass COP Member James McCoy teamed up with Deputy Hernandez today to conduct a directed patrol for the Walnut Pass community.

They accessed the community park addressing the needs for additional lighting and safety concerns.

Social Crownwood COP Program Breakfast and surrounding COP member meet

At this weeks training course, we highlighted Cellular on Patrol Members Stanley Smith, John Alexander and Vince Linnert with their commemorative service patch for answering the call of immediate assistance when asked.

We also gave service awards the the Nupp’s for their commitment to the program, community safety and aiding the Bexar County Sheriff Office.

We also highlighted both COP members Albert Castle and John Alexander with service awards for their commitment to the program, community safety and aiding the Bexar County Sheriff Office.

The Balcones Creek C.O.P. Team had an awesome meeting tonight, they spoke about upcoming patrol assignments and planned for community events with our SCORE unit and highlighted the positive reinforcement from their residents.

This morning at the monthly EAST C.O.P. breakfast, Deputy Hernandez and Deputy Tafoya highlighted a few of our Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Cellular On Patrol Program members from Crownwood and Summit Ridge with service awards for their commitment to the program, community safety and aiding the Bexar County Sheriff Office.

Several of COP Members participated in the Weston Oaks Community Spring Fling Event, the program donated piñatas for their festivities and we spoke about crime safety tips along with recruiting for the COP program.

This evening Deputies Hernandez and Turbeville spoke to the Walnut Pass Community during their HOA meeting, we highlighted COP Member Gary Kressbach with a service award for his commitment to the program, community safety and aiding the Bexar County Sheriff Office.

Sheriff Javier Salazar would like to highlight the C.O.P. program again on a grand scale to the communities as we did back at the East Neighborhood Safety Meeting last year. Deputy Hernandez and available COP members will giving a presentation and will have a table set up for a membership drive.

Today we highlighted Wortham Oaks Team Leader and Team Members with service awards for being in the Cellular On Patrol program.

Clifford McCarter started their program in July 2022 and has since grown a team of 11 members.

In total they have committed 463 volunteer hours to patrol their community and surrounding areas making a safe place to live in and aiding the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office by being the eyes and ears! 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽

Deputy Hernandez and Turbeville will be reaching out to program members to set up more service awards. 🫡

This community now has 10 applications submitted to start a program.

Community Policing is a Community Partnership!

On Tuesday January 24th, 2023 SCORE Deputies Hernandez and Turbeville will be attending Weston Oaks community safety session located at 12500 Reid Ranch, starting at 6 PM to 7:30 PM.

We would like to have several Cellular on Patrol members assist us by promoting the program, this community is very eager to start a program and we currently have seven applications from this community alone so far for the February C.O.P. training class. We want to welcome them with a strong show of force.

The C.O.P. Members that attend would speak about the program and what success you have had along with some constraints, if faced with any. Deputies Hernandez and Turbeville will be leading the session with crime prevention tips, and the Q&A forum.

There are 60 community members that have RSVP’d for the session and we now are expecting more.

They would like to film a segment tomorrow Tuesday December 20th at around 12pm. We will be meeting on WEST.

Several of our COP members assisted the SCORE Unit with a Special Operation, they utilized their skill sets developed by the COP training program and of their countless hours of being active in the program. This was a successful operation and we will be having more in the future.

We had a training class yesterday at the East Patrol Substation. We had members from Wortham Oaks, Crownwood, Villages of WestCreek, MesaCreek, Balcones Creek, Ventura, MacArthur Park and Hunters Way.

Our program membership cannot be thanked enough for their continued efforts to make their communities a safer place to live. They play a vital role be being the eyes and ears for the community and the BCSO.

We will be meeting at a minimum once a month in different areas of the county with additional training sites added along with having our program membership assisting the SCORE unit with upcoming operations.

Our next training class will be in North Bexar County, details to be announced soon!

Several of our COP members showed up to facilitate our program to the Ventura community and surrounding neighborhoods during a safety meeting at the Spring Meadows Elementary School.

We had a great turnout by the community and provided presentations on how to keep your property safe from burglars, how to report illegal activity, and how to empower the community to keep their neighborhood safe by joining our Cellular on Patrol (C.O.P.) program. Additionally, Sheriff Salazar provided an update regarding proactive measures in an effort to decrease crime and deter criminal activity along the FM 78 corridor.

Bexar County neighborhoods looking for 'eyes and ears' volunteers amid safety concerns BEXAR COUNTY, Texas—Interest is growing in a Bexar County neighborhood program after recent crime incidents.Members say one catalyst was the sexual assault case

Deputy Hernandez is requesting several of our members to assist our SCORE unit in December in several special daytime or evening operations. Functions will be covert/observation operations working in partners or alongside with a Deputy. Ops will be about 3-4 hours each assignment.
