As a Secretary of Academy of Pediatrics, Vadodara, I, Dr Afsana Patel is pleased to share an update on our recent Kids Kidney Konnect Program. This initiative was designed to raise awareness and provide support for children with kidney related issues, ensuring they receive the best possible care. This was a full house event with maximum interactions, all the faculties were awesome and many senior pediatricians also appreciated this K*K program very much.

As a Honourable Secretary of AOPV, along with the support of our Enthusiatic President of AOPV, herewith i am sharing the glimpse of World ORS Week & World Breastfeeding week celebrations, carried out at different Medical colleges & Prestigious Institutions of Child Care of Vadodara City!!

AOPG Photography Competition was held to celebrate World Environment Day, theme of 2024 is Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience. We have distributed the certificates to the winners of it. First prize was given to AOPV President, Dr Snehal Shirolawala, Second prize - Dr Ramesh Bajania & Third Prize - Dr Anita Kothiala.

Complementary Feeding Day was celebrated very widely on 06/06/2024 at different medical colleges and different institutes of child health, namely SSGH, KGPCH, GMERS Medical College, Gotri, Parul University and Sumandeep University. Theme of 2024 is C4GP - Complementary feeding for Growth and Prosperity.

As you all know, we celebrate 21st March is celebrated as "World Down's syndrome day". And we have planned a lot of events at AOPV & VAHA along with IMA, for entertainment, health issues, transition care and awareness for these specially abled children between 21st to 31st March. AOP Vadodara hosted a CME on VPD surveillance in association with health department VMC, and WHO on 13th March 2025. It was indeed an interactive and interesting panel discussion where lots of doubts cleared regarding VPD surveillance.

World obesity day. A panel discussion was conducted with Medical students at Parul Medical College by VAHA, AOPV & AOPG. Thanks to Dr. Ridhhi Patel for moderating the session wonderfully and Dr. Prashant Modi for taking the lead and organising it so well.

AOPG presidential action plan IMPACT T o T was conducted by AOPV in association with UNICEF and PSM department, GMERS on 2nd March, 2024.

AOPG presidential action plan, ENRICH was launched and conducted on 18th Feb, 2024 at KGPCH by AOP Vadodara. We are thankful to all the esteemed teachers for sparing their time and helping PG students to sharpen their clinical skills.

🫀Congenital heart disease🫀 awareness day celebrated jointly by Academy of Pediatrics Vadodara and Sumandeep Vidyapeeth by organising CME on Pediatric Cardiology and Echocardiography Workshop on 15th February 2024, Thursday from 9 AM to 2 PM for Postgraduates and Medical officers of Private NICUs. 48 delegates👩🏻‍🦰👨🏻‍🦰 Participated. 3 wonderful, highly narrative and scholarly lectures were taken by our esteemed Faculties ( Dr Chintan Bhatt, Dr Bhadra Trivedi and Dr Cinosh Mathew) followed by Live Demonstration of all views of 2-D Echo on patients and Hands on experience to all delegates on patients. GMC has credited 1 credit hour. Thanks 🙏🏻again to Dr Chintan Bhatt for planning such academic feast, Dr Manish Rasania sir, Dr Snehal Shirolawala mam and Team AOPV for micro planning of CME, motivating and encouraging such activities for PG delegates. 🙏🏻

International Epilepsy day Awareness Programme was celebrated by Academy of Pediatrics,Vadodara along with Department of Pediatrics, Dhiraj Hospital, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth on 14th February 2024, Wednesday. Around 20-25 patients 👶🏻👧🏻🧒🏻 of Epilepsy with or without neurodevelopmental delay were invited. Poster presentations 🌅🌁🌉and Skit presentations regarding Myths, primary management, treatment and drug defaulters were done by students of Nursing college under guidance of Dr Smruti Patel and Dr Vishal Patel. Snacks🍐🍊🥪 and coloring kit 🎨🎨🎨 distributed amongst patients. Thanks to Dr Manish Rasania sir, Dr Snehal Shirolawala mam and Team AOPV for their constant support and motivation.🙏🏻

AOP Vadodara conducted various Anemia awareness day programs in Vadodara city and nearby towns too. Hope these little efforts bring major changes in well being of children.

Successfully completed first CME of the year 2024. We were delighted to have Dr. Suhas Prabhu for this vaccine CME as guest speaker. We sincerely thank Dr. Suhas Prabhu and Dr. Bhupendra Kapadia for accepting the invitation and enlightening us with pure science. We thank all delegates too without him this event would not have been successful.

4th February - World Cancer Day.
AOPV along with KGPCH and Other NGOs, with the help of Dr. Urvinder Kaur and other members tried to bring smiles to pediatric cancer patients. They enjoyed Music, Dancing with Zumba dancer, Magic show, Dance performance , gifts and snacks.
We can just pray God to bless them with happiness and freedom from this deadly disease.
