Thank you to everyone who helped make our event such a huge success! The families who joined us all had so much fun!

Three years ago (April 19, 2020 to be exact), our country was undergoing lockdowns to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Many public spaces shut down entirely, and large group activities were cancelled. As such, our organization was unable to continue our mission to bring kids and families to games. But that didn't mean we'd stop bringing smiles to as many children as possible. In the midst of the shutdown, children continued receiving top-tier medical treatment at Cincinnati Children's. Many families traveled from miles away to receive care and stayed at the Ronald McDonald House, Cincinnati, Ohio. This wonderful organization provides housing for families while children receive medical treatment. Unfortunately, due to their weakened immune systems, many of the kids and families were unable to even leave their rooms during the peak of COVID-19 cases. Therefore, we made a visit to Target and purchased nearly all of the coloring supplies they had on the shelves. We also sought out one of the few remaining Xbox consoles in the area, as well as four controllers, a headset, and an XBOX Ultimate Game Pass so that children could play with their family during their stay, or even play online with their friends back home!

Today we are happy to report to you all, our amazing supporters, that the XBOX has been a huge hit. To date, over 193 different games have been played for over 261,115 minutes (that's 4,342 hours, or 181 days!) We hope that this time spent gaming with friends and family has made their time between treatments just a little more enjoyable.

Hey Everyone!
We are proud to announce that we have our next big event scheduled for this Sunday, August 6, 2023 and it's shaping up to be our biggest event in our history!
It's been a bit too hot out lately to bring the kids to the Reds game, so we decided a nice trip to a pool would be fitting! We purchased a total of 120 tickets to Coney Island for children and their families to enjoy a picnic and fun in the water. We were happily surprised to see that all 120 tickets were claimed in under a day! However, our wait-list also began to fill up quickly and a total of 120 additional guests signed up for the event over the following days. We do have some room in the budget to purchase additional tickets for some of these guests on the wait-list, but it will be difficult to bring all 120 with our current funds. We'd like to avoid leaving anyone out of the event, so today we are starting a short, 4-day fundraising campaign to purchase additional tickets!

Special thank you to the Springdale Lowe's Home Improvement for donating storage boxes for our charity's tshirts! Our board members sorted and inventoried all of our tshirts for our upcoming events! We are finalizing dates, but coming up this summer and early fall we will be bringing kids and families to: 1 reds game (with fireworks!), 1 Coney island family day, and 1 fundraising pub crawl! They have been working with us behind the scenes to provide souvenir t-shirts for all of our events, and today they came through big time with a delivery of awesome shirts for our pubcrawl participants! Register today to get your shirt!

Did you know our kids events shirts serve multiple functions?
1. Camera operators love seeing kids in the stands, and kids love seeing themselves on the jumbotron! So the bright safety-green colors help our group stand out a little bit!
2. Speaking of standing out, have you ever tried keeping an eye on a child in a crowd? Now what if that child was wearing the same colors as everyone else?! No thank you! Our bright safety green colors are also a safety measure! Though the children are always accompanied by their parents or guardians, we want to ensure everyone in our group is safe, so our volunteers also keep an eye out for a green shirt wandering away from our group.
3. Publicity! Being a small charity is hard! Billboards are expensive! So we let our actions speak for themselves. And when other fans see a group of kids all wearing our logo, it helps us build awareness for our cause, hopefully leading to additional support to make future events possible!

We had a fantastic time watching the Cincinnati Cyclones get a win over the Komets yesterday!
Over 110 people attended the game with us.
We all had so much fun!
Thank you to the Cyclones and Aramark Concessions staff who made this event so much better.

We're Back.....

tomorrow is the day!! We are SO EXCITED to get back to doing what we love!! tomorrow looks like it may be our biggest event EVER! Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years! We are ready for the Cyclone's tomorrow night!!

We currently have 78 people registered to attend our first post-pandemic kids event at the March 19th Cyclones Game (with more registering every day!) With tickets, souvenir t-shirts, the in-game meal, snacks, drinks, and other game day specials, it costs anywhere from $20 $30 per person. You have the ability to help us fund these events without spending a PENNY!

We are proud members of the Kroger Community Rewards program. A great program that allows you to link your Kroger Plus Card to SGFK. At the end of each quarter Kroger will make a donation based on how much our members have spent at their stores!

It does NOT: raise the price of your groceries, require donations at checkout, use/affect your fuel points, or cause any added cost to anything you do!

It does: take about 2 minutes to do via the app or website.
