Happy international Orangutan day! I'm throwing back to one of my favourite drawings of this stunning creature.
Hi everyone,
I'm sorry I haven't posted anything in ages! I have found less and less time to draw as I approach the final few weeks of my masters. I've have been experimenting with a few different media in my spare time and I can finally share this portrait of Jeff which I completed for a friend. I had a great time experimenting with acrylic painting but I think I will make a return to pencil.
I have recently been playing around with some embroidery too so let me know in the comments if you would like to see some of this!

After a very busy couple of months I have finally completed this full body portrait and mounted it ready for its trip to its owners. I usually steer clear of complete body portratis but I have really enjoyed working my way through this piece using a combination of fabercastel polychromos, a slice ceramic blade and acrylic paint for texture.
I cannot wait to see what it looks like in its new home!

Another little progress shot for you! I'm a bit unsure about the body on this little guy. I think I may have overworked some areas. We are getting close to the end now.
Taking the time this weekend to finish a bit more of this portrait.
Back to work on my A3 monster! I thought drawing the curly fur on this pup would be stressfull but I have had the most therapeutic afternoon.
Happy Bank holiday!
I though I would brighten you fay with one of my favourite portraits. I'm obsessed with the little dinosaurs on his bucket hat. I've been really busy recently and I'm finding it challenging to create new content as regularly as I used to. I'm hoping to have new content soon so please bear with me!
I've spent some time considering whether to share my portraits on my feed. Many of these were completed for family or friends making them so lovely to complete.
This one was a juxtaposition of two images to create a gorgeous family portrait. I was working a lot with fineliner at the time and I really loved the effect it achieved. Portraits really push your observation to get the proportions right. I struggle with capturing personality in my portraits so its definately something for me to develop in the future.
Let me know in the comments if your would like to see more of my portraits as I have a few I can share with you all!

New update for you all! Now onto the tricky part, time to tackle all the golden curls on this wonderful pups body!
Progress ...
Its been a busy few weeks for me, but I'm hoping to have some new content to share with you all very soon. This piece is A3 so has eaten up my weekends. I've been working on a mixed media technique for the coat, trying to build in some texture. I've possibly gone a bit too thick in some areas but I'm learning so much as I progress through the painting.

Finished my research report so I'm hoping to be back to posting more regularly. I've got a little progress update for you all.
A little progress update for you all. I haven't had very much free time recently to spend drawing. I'm sorry that I haven't had much to share with you all. I have set my goal to have at least 1 new post a week until my schedule calms down. I'm loving working on this portrait, its definately a challenge to capture the golden and pink tones in this pups coat. Let me know your thoughts so far.

Hi everyone, I'm so sorry that it has been a while. I've taken a bit of a break from instagram as life has really taken over in the past few weeks!
I hope you are all keeping well and as a weekend treat I'm sharing my current work in progress. This is a bit different to anything I've done before as it will be full body and A3!
I promise to keep you up to date with my progress on this one.

I completed this portrait of a weimaranar over the weekend. I enjoyed working with the cool tones on the coat but in hindsight I would have used a beige tone rather than grey but I enjoyed working with a different colour palette. I chose a weimaraner to experiment with creating the coat of a short haired breed. I'm not certain I achieved everything I intended to with the coat, its a bit smooth for my personal preference and I think some shadows are a bit dark however, for a first attempt I am not too disapointed and I have definately picked up some pointers for next time.
A snnek peek at a personal project I'm working on. Some of my shadows are little bit heavy but I have decided to leave adding details with my slice blade until the ver end. I've loved working on the cool grey coat of this weimaraner, picking out the sutble pink and stone undertones. I'm trying to keep creating new content for you all but Uni is a little bit crazy at the moment so please bear with me!
The perfect personal gift for family and pet lovers alike.

A4 pencil portrait of Suki!
I had a lot of fun working on this birthday gift. I found the colourings a bit challenging, it was hard to get the right balance between the yellow undertones and orange overtones but I think I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
If you are looking for a gift with a personal touch drop me a message on messager or at my email: [email protected].
Finally finished this hansome chap and sent him off to his new owner. I am immensely proud of this drawing using it as a learning experience to study the huge variety of colours within a black coat. Sam was the best model as he has split colourings in the light resulting in warmer tones on the left side of this portrait and cooler blues on the right.
I still have not perfected my style yet but I definately feel this was a step in the right direction. I would love to hear you thoughts/feedback.

I did a number of portraits during the Christmas period and I have been torn whether or not to include them on my feed. This is a family portrait I completed for a close friend. This portrait was definately a huge challenge, and it forced me to fine tune my observation to capture the resemblance.
Let me know in thr comments if you would like to see the other portraits I completed. ( I'm sorry about the festive decor, I failed to take a photograph without any staging!)
Just a little WIP for you! I'm really enjoying working on this portrait of Sam. There are so many colours within his coat so its taking me a while to get the balance just right.
What are your thoughts so far?

A4 watercolour of Maisy
Imidiately I was captivated by Maisy's eyes! They had the most amazing golden glow which I really wished to capture in her portrait.
I recently invested in some new media so I'm looking to do a bit of investigation with soft pastel portraits- leave a comment if you have any tips!

Pencil Portrait of Ruby a proud member of . I really enjoyed building the texture in her fur and I experimented with using acrylic paint to build a textured base for the pencil drawing.
I extend a huge thank you to for having me on their giveaway!

Happy New year everyone!
This was one of my favourite portraits to work on as I instantly fell in love with those steely blue eyes. It was certainly a challenge to capture all the character in her expression.
The portrait was complrted using Arteza watercolour pencils and Faber-Castell PITT liners.
I am taking bookings for January and Feburary now and I'm currently working on some highlights to make the process much easier for yourselves!

My final Pet Portrait from the lead up to Christmas. I completed this one using Faber-Castell PITT markers and a white liner for detailing.
What a rollercoaster 2020 has been! There have been so many ups and downs but I'm definitely ready to welcome 2021. I have taken a bit of time over the past few days to look at the progress I have made with my art. I have attached my very first drawing for you to take a peep. It has been a year of experimenting for me and I've worked with a number of different medias and styles. I am so grateful with how supportive you have all been. I have finally settled on a style (well 2) and my 3 most recent works (to be posted soon) made me so proud of my progress. I'm very much overly critical of my work but I have settled on comparing each drawing to my first to look at progress rather than focus on negatives.
I worked on some portraits which were completely out of my comfort zone and I will be posting these throughout Jan. They are by no means Perfect but I was pleased that I felf confident enough to give it a go. This is the end of my huge messge, I wish you all the best for the new year and the adventures, challenges and discoveries it may bring. ~Robyn
All my Christmas comisdions have now been gifted so I can finally share them with you. I loved working on this Whippet and attempting to capture their proud stance. The pop of colour provided by their red coat put this drawing up their with some of my favourites!
I am once again taking commissions and I still have availibility for January so drop me an email if you are interested.
I hope that you are all keeping well ~ Robyn

One of the many drawings I got up to in the lead up to Christmas!
I felt so privileged to have so many commissioned pieces over Christmas. This year has been such a huge journey for me. 12 months ago I was hessitant to pick up a pencil an create, I mostly drew to cope with aniexty and stress. This year has been a whirlwind but it has taught me to love creating again. I have spent so many hours drawing and thank you all for such a welcome reception.
I'm taking a break from drawing this week but I have plenty of drawings to share with you. I have dabbled with a few styles so I would love to hear your feedback! ~Robyn
I hope that you are all enjoying a well desreved rest! I am taking a small break until the new year but wished to thank you all for your support this year it has been incredible. This whole venture started completely by accident and I would like to thank eberyone who assisted along the Journey. Wishing you all the best for the new year!
Wishing you all a very Merry Chistmas!
Happy Weekend!
I'm sorry I have been MIA for a while. I have been working on a research report for my MRes. I have also been very busy working on lots of Christmas portraits which I can share with you all very soon.
Here we have a gorgeous little goose I was asked to complete. I stuck with watercolour for this one and a classic orange and blue combination.
Does anyone have any tips to get the crease out of my page? I forgot to use my clips whist it dried 🤦♀️
I hope you are all having a well desereved rest over Christmas!

I have some huge deadlines for my research project coming up and I have been working on a lot of Christmas Commissions! Here is a sneak peak of what to expect as the own of this portrait let me share this one early ❤
I've had bit of an experiment with this one using watercolour as a base, before layering my usual ink and gel drawing. I'm actually really happy with the result!
