On being a Wildflower

Hello Wednesday!
Today I want to share with you this beautiful bear enjoying the leaves falling down on this deep day of autumn.
Here in eastern Canada all leaves have fallen down and is looking more like Winter (LOL), but you know, is still fall and I love it! So here is this beautiful bear that I drew because I was reminiscing about the time I lived in BC.

I just realized I never posted these mushrooms or other crafts here on my Instagram, mostly I have posted them on Facebook.
Well, I wanted to show you all a little bit of my table when I attend craft shows since today I am waking up early to pack to attend one!!!

Today I will be in at the Lions Club for their Fall Craft Fair ✨ and these are a few of the pieces I have crafted to sell here ✨

When I attend a local craft show, I have a forest themed table 🍃 because I just like the enchanted forest theme so much!
I sell my stickers, cards but also my polymer clay and lots of wire wrapped or natural stone jewelry.

My best sellers are actually three: stickers, rings and the polymer clay mushrooms ✨ and to be totally honest, I just LOVE the face of kids when they get to my table and start trying to decide which sticker they want for their water bottles ✨✨✨

If you are interested in anything you see in these pictures, let me know! I ship everything! I sometimes don't post them here because I have a worldwide audience and shipping rates can be terrible (for the USA a small packet goes for about $11 cad, Europe is $13 cad and funny enough, the most expensive one is to ship here in Canada for about $23 cad!)... So I post mostly things that can be shipped as 'lettermail' since those I can ship much cheaper using stamps.

Kind of late, I know. I actually woke up super early today, I was wire-wrapping pendants at 5:30am I KID YOU NOT! And then I continued with many other little tasks that I have to do in preparation for the craft fair season that's upon us!! I start my first craft show of the season next Sunday and I am excited and also WAY BEHIND on so many things I had planned to do!!! 😅 But oh well!!!

I ate and took a very needed nap and I thought 'I have to say happy thanksgiving because I am very grateful!!!' and so, here it is:

I am thankful for being able to work on my creative and artistic passions. I am thankful for my husband who not only supports me through any weird idea, but who spoils me every time he cans (for example, he cooked another excellent meal today: My favorite food plus he made me sweet potato pancakes for the holiday!). I am thankful for the family I was born in, my parents and siblings who although far away, I know I always have by my side. And I am thankful for this life, it may be a simple life in the eyes of others, but it is the best for me ✨.

It's October and I have been saving this Spooky boi for this month!
I present to you a Naked Mole-Rat dressed as an Oracle!!!

This guy was part of the 6th Issue of The Rodent Club (the Enchanted Forest issue) and I thought it would be perfect for 's yearly celebrations!!!

I will not be making the list in order or complete, but I have a few illustrations I want to feature for and this one is for prompt #10 called FORTUNE.

Oracles were priests or priestesses who were sought for advice and prophecy of your fortunes according to the gods in Ancient civilizations (such as the Greeks), they are usually depicted as mysterious and with different shapes not typical to the human form due their connection to the Gods.

So, i think this guy is perfect for this prompt.
Besides that, I also want to submit this piece fir by and .art for the prompt lurking, as Oracles are described to lurking in shadow corners just observing the world around them and interpreting divinity signals (I know it's still far ahead hehe, but I want to participate and I don't think I can follow the order, sorry!!! ).

I just want to say that this summer was hard, we experienced two huge losses and I have been consistently struggling healthwise BUT, our summer season at Shediac Craft Shop was espectacular ✨✨✨ .

Thank you everyone who supported the shop and our shelf ❤️ , the shop is closed for the year, but this is only a see you later!

We will be at multiple craft shows during the holidays, including the Shediac Christmas Market Hosted By Shediac Craft Shop ✨and we are preparing a truly magical forest experience (to be previewed soon!).

In the following days I will be posting a calendar of events where you will find us in the following months. And as per the Giant Lobster: we'll see you NEXT YEAR BIG GUY! 🦞

20 yrs ago, around 6pm Alex and I were finishing after-school activities and were chatting on the sidewalk right outside the main entrance of our high school and that's when we became boyfriend and girlfriend.

This is something I could talk about for hours because I am just so happy I found my soulmate so early in life, and I am absolutely proud of everything we have gone through together and everything that we have achieved. But I will summarize to not bore you:
I love this man with all my heart, he truly is my everything, he is the first thing I see in the morning and the last I see before going to sleep at night, and that's how I like it.

He is my best friend and permanent support, the one I know will always be with me. We are not perfect, but we complement each other SO WELL.
What were the chances I was gonna meet another weirdo who loves animals, nature, music, and science and is an overall atypical like me, but at the same time so different from me, that we make a great team! Someone ready to leave everything he knew behind and search for what we both wanted in life... it's been the best 20 yrs of my life, and this adventure continues!

This was our first photo together, so that means I was 15 and he 16. Wearing our high school uniform (yellow t-shirt) at the school's picnic tables. Time has gone SO FAST.

Cheers for a long life with my one true love, may we live happily ever after forever.

Yay! So how about tomorrow I host a little live drawing session after I finish work? Who's in???

I would like to just spend the session making sketches of animals since I am planning the following issue for The Rodent Club.
So I will look for reference photos to have ready, but I want your suggestions!!! I will sketch ANY animal, but I want your ideas because honestly, this will be more of a drawing practice session for me, I have to keep developing my skills, and what better opportunity than to host a little meeting here online. So it's gonna be sketching, sketching, sketching!!!

Last time we had fun talking about so many different stuff, so be ready if you wanna know anything about my work, about life in general, you can ask questions!! And I will try to keep you entertained. Afterward, I will leave my live video in my reel section so if you cannot attend, at least you can listen to it while you are doing something else later (I love listening to live streams while I work hahaha, also podcasts YAY!).

Okay so shoot your ideas!!!

September is here! The weather has cooled down here in the Canadian Maritimes and I can't wait for fall ❤

Are you excited for September? Do you have plans for the coming fall?

I have a big anniversary coming up, I have been so busy (and sick at times) that I haven't planned anything yet but I am starting to seriously think about it xD (good thing it's at the end of the month!)...
This holiday season husband and I have decided to join as many local markets as possible, so we are excited about that. Also, we are excited about our new items (polymer clay) which I will start posting soon.

The Rodent Club's holiday themes are also pretty exciting!
I will be announcing the themes from here to Next year in a post soon.

to my beautiful Benny.
It's been more than 2 months since he and my sweet Toppie passed, and I don't think the pain of not having them here goes away, you just get used to living with the hole they left.
Benny was my heart gerbil, he and I understood each other so well. He was a rebel, but also a snuggly little meatball. He became my world and so noticeably, I became his.
Losing him has been probably the biggest loss in my life, many of you may be thinking "he was just a tiny rodent" but you know, his true size to me was all of that space that didn't form part of his body, so to me, he was immense.

I used to wake up every day and Benny was waiting for me, looking patiently from his wooden house when I first raised my head, he would look at me saying "banana mom!" and I would go, set up a cup of oats in soy milk and grab a banana to share with my boys. I would usually have to wake up Toppie, but Benny was ready!!! I opened his terrarium and he would stay to eat his banana and then the world was his oyster! He would go out and explore while Toppie would stay still sleeping (after munching his banana piece xD).

This photo is from when it was just Benny, Alex & I. We work from home so he used to invade our desktops and be there all day with us, he would jump onto my shoulders and observe my work from there.
Benny changed our lives in the most amazing way, I wish he had lived to be 5 yrs old or more but life isn't fair... Cancer, the same thing that took his brother, eventually took him.

Now I look out my window every day and say a few words to him and Toppie. Some days ago, Benny's plant finally grew some flowers. A rebel as always, he waited for a really smokey day to put out the most beautiful tiny deep dark pink flower. As tiny, unpredictable, and gorgeous as he, thank you, my perfect boy.
Mom loves you.

Hello Tuesday!!!
I have been very weirdly sick (and out of here) for a while. It's a long story so I will leave it for another post.

But in good news, I am feeling better since I discovered the source of my symptoms... and THE RODENT CLUB SHIPPED YESTERDAY GUYS!!!!... Sorry I have been out so much, I was beginning to think I was crazy because I was just getting sicker and sicker and had no idea why...

ANYWAY.
I'm behind on everything because of this so I gotta run. Enjoy this Mousa Troopa... hahaha mouse dressed as Koopa Paratroopa from the past issue of the Rodent CLub... and have an awesome Tuesday!!!

Hello, Sunday afternoon! Just chilling at home, drawing up some commissions and the stickers for the next issue of The Rodent Club while the rain was falling outside the window and the weather is nice...

So today to continue with the nice chilling vibes, I bring to you my Kare Toad... this is a cute orangey gerbil (named Kare because he was inspired in 's very own tiny Kare doing a perfect pose in a photo) and he is dressed as Toad from the Mario Bros. Universe.

This was one of the stickers part of the 5th issue of The Rodent Club (the one that shipped last month) and this was MY FAVORITE!!! Toad is my favorite character from the Mario movie, I love him because he is ready for action with his backpack full of useful stuff. He is short, chubby, and cool, so I want to think of myself as that HAHAHA, I identify with that little weirdo a lot and it was important to me that the Toad sticker was cute and has as many details as possible, so hopefully this was accomplished (I was honestly scared of coloring that backpack lol!).

A Yoshibara on this beautiful Tuesday!
The beginning of the workweek for me this time, I had a very restful long weekend and I am recharged to keep up this new issue of the club that is cooking MAGICALLY 😉✨

Yoshi the green dinosaur first started as a sidekick of Mario in the Nintendo games, but it was so popular that he got his own game (and HOW COULD HE NOT? Yoshi is ADORABLE)... and then, all the other Yoshi colors came along!!!! I just love all of them, but I do have a soft spot for the cyan one and the pink one hahaha.

When I was trying to come up with an idea for the Yoshi character in The Rodent Club, I really wanted to keep the fact that he can carry someone in his back and that is why I thought of the capybara mash hihi. Capys are big and strong, so it seemed like a perfect combo. Although, please let capybaras be, don't try to get on top of them.

What are your plans for this weekend?
I plan to spend it like this little hamster I drew for my 4th issue of The Rodent Club: PLAYING!!! Here in Canada, we have a long weekend that is named differently in each province LOL (for real!).

In general, we have a "Civic Day" this following Monday, which means most of us have a free day from work (YAY)... but in some provinces, it has a specific name because is the Provincial Day ❤

For example:

Here in New Brunswick, it's "New Brunswick Day"
In British Columbia, is "British Columbia Day"
In Saskatchewan, is "Saskatchewan Day" ... and you get the gist of this...

BUT, in some provinces is called very differently, like in Nova Scotia where the same holiday is named "Natal Day" (weird uh? it sounds like Christmas-related to me lol), or in Alberta where is called "Heritage Day" ...

ANYWAY, I have three full days of summer fun ahead of me, I plan to go to the beach, keep up a few things with my little business and also, hiking a little bit YAY!!!

What are your plan for the weekend? Tell me! (Resting IS and should always be an option too!)...
