Space Shuttle Videos
Video educational tools for the STEM/Science/Space classrooms re: the Space Shuttle program. MovieM
Tom R. Chambers has set up this page for educators to use these Space Shuttle videos as teaching tools in the classroom and/or via Zoom. He hopes they will motivate and inspire both the teacher and student.
Not only do the videos exist for informative and inspirational projections, but also as catalysts for the students to do the same via video editing software.
MovieMaker and FilmForth were utilized for the production. These free, software tools are easily taught to students so they can do the same via research and access to NASA images/information.
This "knowledge visualization" process is one of motivation and ownership which empowers the students to move forward with their learning. There is also an excitation factor of creating a viable product for consumption by others.
There is also the possibility of incorporating "Literacy Through Photography" by encouraging the students to write about the images.
Chambers is a former research analyst at the Lunar Receiving Laboratory during Project Apollo (1969-1972) and an educator of middle school Technology Applications (2007-2013).
