Yesterday we held a volunteer appreciation event for our regular Textile Exchange Volunteers!
We missed National Volunteer Week by a little bit, but the theme this year was "Volunteering Weaves us Together". It takes volunteers like these wonderful ladies to build, operate, and sustain organizations like ours that benefit so many. Together they help weave the very fabric of what it means to be a community. Thank you all for everything you do!
Huge thank you to Tina for putting this event together! (We didn't get a picture of the spread of food... But no one left hungry that's for sure!) And thank you to the Community Sector Council Newfoundland and Labrador for sponsoring the event.

It's summer job time again!
We are looking for some high energy, motivated individuals to join our team this summer! We have positions at both Textile Exchange and Karma Kafe. **some positions are pending funding approval
Server/Barista (Karma Kafe)
Kitchen Help (Karma Kafe)
Labourer/Program Assistant (Textile Exchange)
All positions have a June start date, and the pay rate is 14.50. Minimum of 8 weeks employment. Must be between the ages of 15 and 30 to apply.
We would love to have you as part of our team!

We have lots of new additions this week and a great variety of baked goods available!

Our Christmas wreath sales at Karma have exceeded our expectations. We are now in need of supplies to meet our growing demand for orders.
We pride ourselves on re-purposing and keeping recyclable materials out of the landfills. If anyone has any old wreaths to give, your donations will be gratefully accepted at the Karma Kafe tomorrow between 10 and 3.
Don't worry if it's already decorated. We will give it a beautiful holiday make-over.

One thing we need above all else is bedding! As you begin getting ready to add layers to your own bed, if you find items you no longer use please keep Textile Exchange in mind.
We are now accepting the items listed in this post!

We appreciate your ongoing support and look forward to serving you soon!
It's the moment we've all be waiting for!
Starting today, we are officially open!
This means you can come relax and chat with others in Kozy Korner or browse all that Textile Exchange has to offer.
For now, we will operate Tuesday - Saturday from 1pm - 5pm. Please keep in mind, we are completely volunteer run so keep up to date with any closure announcements through this page!
We will be expanding our offerings and will introduce some programs as time goes on. There has been much happening in our building in Templeman and so much more to come!
Also, we would like to announce our Fall Auction to support further upgrades to the building! Keep an eye out as we begin making posts, the auction will run from October 17th to 24th. You will notice the changes happening in our auction group in the coming days.
It's been a long road to get here. But we continue this work in honor of the woman who started it all. Without Flo Cross' vision to help keep textiles out of the landfills, and to create a space where needs are met without the concerns of price tags this would not be possible. It's all "for the children"
Thank you to everyone to this point who has supported this cause in anyway so far. May it be a donation of your time, money, or kindness.
A grand opening will be announced in the near future.
