The 'new' Labour Government may look familiar.

That's because they've all been in previous cabinets and overseen:

🥀 The worst NHS waits in the UK.
🥀 The steepest decline in education results.
🥀 Economic growth below UK average.

Expect more of the same failures from Labour.

Disappointing to see that the new UK Labour Government has decided not to proceed with the plans to help the Welsh NHS with its long waiting lists - so much for this new Welsh Labour Government and UK Labour Government partnership!

So many people are sat on long waiting lists with their health deteriorating, and this proposal by the previous UK Conservative Government would have helped tremendously.

We desperately need to see real action to bring our waiting lists down.

This is Baroness Eluned Morgan.

Tomorrow, she will become the third Labour First Minister of Wales of this year. 🥀

She runs the Welsh NHS and has presided over record waits for treatment. 📈

She backs 20mph zones, but was BANNED from driving after being caught speeding four times. 🚘

It was fantastic to meet and listen to Robert Jenrick in Usk yesterday evening. It was great to hear his plan for , Wales and the United Kingdom. It was also great to hear the changes he wishes to apply to the party.

24/07/2024

A coronation as expected.

I wish her well, but let’s not forget Baroness Morgan has been a senior Labour minister for years.

The problems go far beyond Vaughan Gething.

There’s something rotten at the heart of Welsh Labour that a new leader won’t solve.

Caerphilly Conservatives believe that more work needs to be done to insure that these services work together across the borough - with better coordination from Welsh Government and local authorities.

WE PLEDGE: No ifs, no buts, no more powers to Cardiff Bay.

But beyond that, we believe that more power should be given to the people.

The Survey – Cynefin Caerffili CIC 11/07/2024

Caerphilly Council are looking to develop a cultural arts centre within the town itself; Cynefin Caerffili - driven by the need to save the historic Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall. The aim is to establish a creative hub, dedicated to nurturing local talent and culture.

The plan is to provide the people of Caerphilly with somewhere free to access, alongside other facilities such as cinema screens and studios. It is aimed at driving social impact and preserve cultural heritage, as part of the overarching Caerphilly Town 2035 regeneration project.

In order to find out what people think this project needs the directors are conducting a survey to help shape the creative hub.

There are growing numbers of innovative individuals and businesses that are based throughout Caerphilly County Borough and the town itself who work across creative industries. These have contributed to the growing demand to cultivate new talent locally and creating new employment opportunities for people all over Caerphilly.

Please take the time to participate in the survey to give your thoughts on the project and help the directors understand what the priorities are of the residents in Caerphilly.

Council facing £24m bill for plans to improve recycling rates 09/07/2024

This shows such a complete lack of planning from those responsible at CCBC. Directives from Welsh govt. have been long established. The changes implemented at recycling sites have had negative impacts as it is - closing more centres cannot be the solution. Waste management across the borough needs to encourage all residents to adhere to proper waste disposal guidance and advice. Is there any wonder that Fly-tipping and illegal dumping of waste is a scourge of so many residents in Caerphilly?

Council facing £24m bill for plans to improve recycling rates Sweeping changes to waste and recycling collections in Caerphilly County Borough could prove significantly costlier than fines for non-compliance.

Very proud of this young man. He may not have won, but he gave the campaign his all and spoke eloquently and graciously in defeat.

Well done to Caerphilly Conservatives for giving Brandon that opportunity and experience. I too have always loved supporting and encouraging young people that want to represent their communities, as that was me, a long time ago, and I was lucky enough to have that guidance and encouragement. I hope that Brandon will have inspired others to stand too, and I am sure he has. Brandon is an impressive young man, knowledgeable and is driven by wanting the best outcomes for those where he lives in Caerphilly.

This won’t be the last time we see him. He has a bright future ahead of him!

Well done, Brandon Gorman 👏🏻🌟

In the aftermath of the general election we must come to terms with the UK’s new political landscape. It’s as important as ever that everyone should recognise that any political activity no matter how seemingly insignificant is of tremendous value in itself. Understanding what is happening in our local area and across the country and holding those responsible accountable with popular participation is vital. Getting involved can also afford us all enormous benefit in that participation.

We need more Conservative voices. People’s priorities should not be taken for granted - not ever. The new UK government and Welsh government need to be held to account with people’s concerns across Wales being overlooked and priorities not being heeded across the region. It is so important that we strive to ensure people’s voices are listened to and heard.

Help us with that endeavour. If you’re thinking about joining our association don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our social meets are good natured and fun events and a great place to meet like minded people. If you would like to get involved and help us to ensure people’s voices are heard - get in touch and join today!

Well done to David TC Davies, Brandon Gorman, Rachel Buckler, Nick Jones, Hannah Jarvis Nathan Edmunds for Torfaen for their valiant efforts across our region of South Wales East 👏🏻

Politics is brutal, it takes a lot to be a politician and/or candidate. There are so many factors that play their part in your result, as well as your personal efforts, that are out of your control.

A massive thank you to everyone that went out and voted Welsh Conservatives, it is much appreciated by us all 🙏🏻 and to all our members, staff and candidates who worked tirelessly throughout the campaign. It is not the result we wanted, but we need now to regroup, reflect and now look forward to the next election.

It is all of our jobs as opposition politicians to now hold the Labour Governments in both Westminster and Wales to account, and to fight for what we believe to be right and for what benefits for our constituents. It is important we now do this with laser focus, as a lot of at stake. I am particularly concerned about women’s basic rights.

Congratulations to all the winning Labour candidates across my region, I look forward to working with you to achieve the very best we can for my constituents across South Wales East.

We lost some incredibly talented and hard working Welsh Conservative politicians last night, some great men and women, who have been strong advocates for their areas, which is tough to take. I look forward to their come-backs!

Particularly hard to see my local MP David TC Davies lose his seat. I don’t know anyone that has worked harder for his constituents over the last two decades. David and his staff have been fantastic and I thank him/them for all that they have done for Monmouthshire.

As a Conservative Party we need to reflect, regroup, listen to our members and remember what it is to be a Conservative, what it is to be a Welsh Conservative. I want to play my part in helping to rebuild our Party in Wales. We have credible, positive plans to put forward ahead of the Senedd elections in 2026, focusing on the people’s priorities. We will come back stronger 💪🏼🔵🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

On behalf of Caerphilly Association thank you to those who voted Conservative within the new constituency. 👍

At this time it is important that Conservative voices continue to speak up and hold the Welsh Government and UK Government accountable. Caerphilly Conservative Association will persist with it’s endeavour to assert resident’s priorities across the region.

🌟 Together for Caerphilly – Vote Welsh Conservative! 🌟

Dear Caerphilly,

I hope this message finds you well. As we approach the upcoming election, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt commitment to our beloved community and outline the key points of our campaign.

Caerphilly has always been close to my heart; it’s my home and I am deeply invested in its future.

Now is the time to shape a brighter future for our home. The Welsh Conservatives are ready to lead Caerphilly with dedication and innovative solutions.

✅ Thriving Economy: Support local enterprises and generate new job opportunities.

✅ Top-Quality Healthcare: Our pledge includes reducing waiting times and providing healthcare services to meet the needs of our community, with a focus on reforming the disastrous GMS contract.

✅ Safe Communities: We plan to increase police presence and implement community safety initiatives to make our neighborhoods safer.

✅ Exceptional Education: We are dedicated to investing in our schools and securing a bright future for our children through reformed education. We need to focus on the need of our community, and not simply pander to academics.

✅ Managed Immigration: We will implement fair and controlled immigration policies that benefit our community. Unlike Reform UK, we will be honest on immigration and not promise net zero immigration with exemptions lists to make the stats look low. We won’t commit to uncontrolled immigration like the Labour Party.

Your support is crucial in making these goals a reality. I kindly ask for your continued dedication and efforts as we approach Election Day. Together, we can build a better Caerphilly.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our community.

Tomorrow is an opportunity for those in Caerphilly unhappy with the current state of the NHS in Wales to send a message to the Labour Welsh Government by voting for Brandon Gorman Caerphilly’s Conservative candidate.

Overall responsibility for the NHS in Wales is devolved and since 1999 has been administered by the Welsh Government.

In Caerphilly we have the benefit of having Brandon Gorman (Caerphilly Conservative candidate) as our prospective parliamentary candidate in the coming general election. Brandon has extensive knowledge of the problems facing our health service and social care in Wales. He has gained a thorough understanding of exactly what is required to boost primary care in Caerphilly and has set out how with his depth of expertise he will hold the Welsh Government to account regarding its management of the NHS.

During his leadership campaign First Minister Vaughan Gething set out his ‘Welsh NHS Covenant’. Mr Gething had pledged to ensure that spending on health and social care in Wales does not fall below that of England. According to the latest Welsh government statistics, Wales spends 8% more per person than England on health and 44% more on personal social services. Some might say that this is a worthless promise when it comes to changing the lived experience of any Welsh person using the NHS. Wales has an older and more sparsely spread population than England. Wales also has higher cases of ill health amongst the population in comparison. As a consequence the Welsh Government has to spend more to deliver the same care.

If Vaughan Gething had wanted to make a real promise, he should have vowed to pass on all the funding Wales gets for health spending on health spending. Across Wales people are rightly angry at the Welsh Labour government who are planning to cut the funding of our health boards by £65 million while then wasting over £100 million on creating more politicians in the Senedd.

Labour’s record in Wales stands as a stark warning as to what a Labour Government would look like. In Wales, we have the longest waits for treatment in the UK, with over 20,000 patients still waiting over 96 weeks for treatment after 25 years of Labour failure. The Labour Welsh Government refused to create surgical hubs and diagnostic centres to bear down on long NHS waits and wasted funds on more politicians and 20mph speed limits.

Brandon Gorman made it clear that he is concerned about the state of the NHS in Wales and believes that he is the right candidate to ensure that Caerphilly residents concerns are not only heard but are attended.

“I will work to boost primary care in Caerphilly by collaborating with local GP’s. I will demand the Welsh Government apply any changes.
As someone who was born in Caerphilly Miner’s hospital and has lived in Caerphilly all my life I have seen the decline of services available to local people and think it is something of real concern. I will hold the Labour Welsh government to account from Caerphilly, for all of Caerphilly.” - Brandon Gorman (Caerphilly Conservative candidate)
