The Principles of Business class explored various business ownership models through a marshmallow tower exercise. The corporation, despite its abundant resources, discovered that extensive start-up paperwork and board processes can significantly slow down efficiency. Meanwhile, the partnership thrived in collaboration and idea-sharing, constructing the tallest tower with fewer resources. The sole proprietor completed the task swiftly but recognized the value of a partnership for enhanced brainstorming and shared expertise.
Then, I gave them fresh marshmallows to eat 😉.

We missed our connecting flight due to United Airlines being short staffed, and their ground crew and unable to unload then load our plane in a timely matter. We were rebooked on the 7:30 pm flight which was delayed until 9:30 to wait for other connecting flights to arrive.
The very best part of traveling with the FBLA kids is how they can roll with the punches and make great memories no matter what. At this point, they were all delirious after a week of nonstop activities, but managed to create memories for a lifetime. Being stuck in an airport has a way of bonding a group.
Introducing a made up game of “Ninja” where the rules are also made up as you go.

FBLA Nationals ~Atlanta, Georgia. It has been a very busy couple of days so far with more to come!

24/06/2023

A quick reminder while packing for Nationals. There will be FOUR days of FBLA dress attire. Atlanta will be in the high 80’s to 90’s with humidity. Make sure to pack enough clothes for each day. Undershirts are strongly recommended if you plan to wear a shirt more than once. NO hats are allowed anywhere during the actual conference. You will be able to change when we are doing other activities. Any disregard to the dress code will result in a phone call for your parents to come get you. You can get your blazer the night we leave from my classroom, so please make sure to leave enough room in your suitcase for one!

FBLA Regionals. We came out with first place in Game Design, Website Design, Mission and Pledge, and Community Service Project. So proud of all the hard work the kids have been putting into their events. FBLA requires a very self motivated mindset, and these students have what it takes!

This semester’s Design and Modeling class launched their Skimmers today, and learned about how important measuring is when trying to achieve the win for distance. They also had some super creative designs for the Ankle Foot Orthosis challenge. It’s sure been a fun class so far!

I am beyond impressed with the group of FBLA kids that came to help out with the Boys and Girls Club fundraiser. It is an incredible amount of work in the kitchen and serving food, but these kids did such a great job. Thanks to Mrs. Smith for spending the evening with them, and staying when I had to leave. It takes a village, and this community sure seems to prove this time and time again!

There is a new crew for Flight and Space this semester. Most can make a paper airplane, but attempting to launch and land one on a target always proves to be more challenging than they realize…even at only 1.5 meters away!

Way to go Wells FBLA. These kids worked three very long days of concessions for the WREC classic (14 hour days). I am constantly in awe of what a great and responsible group of kids I get to be around. 26 kids total in FBLA, and they all showed up at some point to work. Some of these kids stayed morning until night to raise money for State.
Thanks for the support and we will see you Wednesday for our chili lunch fundraiser! 🌶️
