The Arcane Moth
Hi! I'm Madi! I'm a multimedia artist creating Earth-inspired pieces. Original work on my website đ⨠My name is Madi!
I sell my work under my shop name The Arcane Moth. I am a q***r multimedia artist based near Atlanta, Georgia. My work is directly inspired by the magic of nature and fantasy themes. I sculpt with polymer clay and ceramics, paint with acrylics and oils, draw with colored pencils, and work with natural and foraged materials as well!
I only have a couple fairy desk trinket boxes left from my last collection!! đ§ââī¸đđ¯ī¸
Each box features handmade books, candles, crystal balls, paper scrolls, and tiny illustrations! The books are made from recycled cardboard and secondhand leather scraps and are carefully painted with shimmery gold and silver inks. The scrolls and illustrations are made from tiny torn pieces of watercolor paper, aged with a tan wash, and drawn with a very fine prismacolor pencil tip! The candles are made from polymer clay and their stands are made from different metal bead caps. The crystal balls are glass marbles on metal stands as well! đŽ
Each one has lush mossy patches, a fabric lining to protect your secret treasures, and my logo and signature on the bottom!

Deep within the forest, three portal doors exist only between the trees' dancing shadows, whispering faintly of worlds yet to be discovered. The Astral Realm, the Druidian Domain, and the Elven Passage.
Each of these three unique pieces is entirely hand sculpted from ceramic clay, kiln fired, and hand painted. Felt lined backing, signature plaque, wooden display stand, and certificate of authenticity included.
I am so proud of these pieces and poured so much love into their creation đĢļđģ I hope you all enjoy :)

Lots of handmade mini mushroom sculpture jars are looking for loving homes!! đđŋđâđĢ
These enchanting fungi are all individually sculpted from polymer clay and shaded with chalk pastel pigments! They're mounted on mossy cork bases with my logo engraved on the bottom, and feature teeny tiny handwritten identification labels đˇī¸ đ§đģââī¸

Ahhhhh!! đ¤Šđ¤Š I officially have mycology posters & individual prints of my original mushroom sculptures!!! đđâđĢđ
I am SO proud of how these turned out đĨ° I've been wanting to do this for quite a while! I do all the photography, editing, printing, and packing myself so I can be totally in control of the print quality over the entire process. It took a couple weeks to get these exactly how I wanted, but the time was so worth it to have such crisp and vibrant prints of my sculptures!!
It's so cool to see my 3D works in a 2D format! I also made some stickers of a couple of these (The inky caps and parrot waxcaps!) The posters come in 5x7 and 8x10 on cardstock and on premium textured paper, I'm hoping to get some larger scale posters made in the future :) The individual fungi prints are 4x6!
Let me know what you guys think and if you have any requests for more specific mushroom sculpture prints!! I hope you enjoy these as much as I do đ
âĸ
New mini mushroom sculpture jars will be up tomorrow!! 3 pm EST đđđŋ Handmade with polymer clay :)
For the past several weeks I have been doing a TON of prep for a weekend of markets. I made dozens and dozens of mushie jars, invested a lot of time and money into new prints and stickers of my work and made over 50 pairs of earrings & necklaces.
Super unfortunately, the weather for the markets was absolutely roasting and not a lot of people came out to shop đ
đ Success at live events is never guaranteed, it's always a coin toss. I'm definitely bummed out, I didn't break even and that hurts (financially and emotionally!) It's exhausting to put so much effort in and not see it pay off, especially since creating is my full time job.
Although that's the tough reality of live events right now, the bright side is that I get to share everything I made with you all and give all my pieces a chance to find loving homes in totally new places!! I'm really proud of everything I've been working on, and I hope you all will enjoy them as much as I do!! đ
Thank you guys so much for supporting and enjoying what I do!!! It means the absolute world to me!! đĢļđģđđŋ

I am thrilled to reveal my newest original sculpture box! Every piece on this enchanting trinket chest was slowly hand crafted over a few weeks & dozens of hours. These elaborate boxes are always truly a labor of love, and I am so proud of the final piece! đ
Within the Lilac Sanctuary, an enchanted hidden world unfolds. Sitting atop the mossy lid on a stack of handmade books is a lavender snail surrounded by her lush garden of fungi & fairy miniatures.
Opening the lid of this box reveals a fairy's secret library, overflowing with dozens of meticulously crafted miniatures. Small glass bottles full of natural and hand foraged ingredients, acorn cap bowls filled to the brim with ink-dyed salt crystals, books crafted from recycled cardboard and secondhand leather scraps and illustrated with metallic gold ink, tiny hand-illustrated vintage posters, clay fungi, tiny moveable brass keys, clay candles on decorative stands, watercolor paper scrolls bound with twine, and more.
The inside of this box is lined with a soft black fabric to protect your treasures. The underside features a laser engraving of my logo and my original signature.
Comes with a signed certificate of authenticity đ

These teeny tiny mushroom sculptures were carefully handmade from polymer clay, colored with chalk pastel pigments and mounted on stained wood plugs! I made some watercolor-aged paper labels for the bases as well. I had to use my magnifying lamp and the smallest pencil I could find to write the species names on them!
From left to right, the mushies are Mycena toyerlaricola, Amanita muscaria, and Mycena interrupta!
FRIDAY MAY 24 at 6 pm EST // I will have a new collection of pieces with handmade fairy miniatures available! (Trinket boxes, sculpture jars, wall hangings) It will be my last release featuring minis for quite a while as I'm feeling inspired to work on larger ceramic and oil painted pieces!! đ§đģââī¸ Hope to see you there đđ

This one of a kind original sculpture box is the only remaining piece from my last enchanted miniatures collection. A hand sculpted & painted barn owl sits atop her mossy cage surrounded by carefully crafted magical mini objects. â¨
I am working on a new collection of pieces with fairy miniatures that I plan to release in about two weeks - this will be my last sculpture box collection for the next several months as I am feeling really inspired to explore my ceramic work and large scale oil paintings this summer đ So if you are interested in a curio jar, sculpture box, or fairy miniature wall hanging, this will be the last opportunity for quite a while!! I'll announce the release date very soon :)

I am super proud of this new sculpture jar!! A pair of Suillus grevillei with a curious snail friend đđâđĢ Every detail is hand sculpted from polymer clay and colored with chalk pastel pigments.
Some super interesting things I learned about this mushroom while researching for this piece:
They are most commonly known as Larch bolete! They are primarily found growing in the soil under larch trees from mid summer to late fall in North America and Europe.đ˛
It is an edible mushroom, though the slimy layer on the cap is typically removed to avoid stomach discomfort. (Never consume wild fungi without proper identification and preparation!)
Suillus grevillei have a beautifully symbiotic relationship with the larch trees they grow beneath! Their specific symbiosis is called ectomycorrhizal association.
The mycelia of the bolete dive deep into the soil under the larch trees and form attachments with their root tips that allow the two organisms to exchange nutrients with one another! The trees provide the mushrooms with necessary carbohydrates and the mushrooms aid in the tree's ability to better absorb water and minerals from the soil! Many plants and trees in coniferous forests rely on their fungi friends for survival, and vice vera.
Wow. I just love fungi so much :))

Hi friends, I wanted to really sincerely say thank you so much to everyone for supporting us through our doggie emergency last week. We were able to cover the bills with all the help which is so incredible and means more than I can even begin to explain. I am so thankful for this community, all the kind words and loving energy sent our way every time we've gone through a rough patch means the world every single time. đĢļđģâ¤ī¸â¤ī¸ Thank you thank you thank you!!!! đĢ
I am still working my way through packing up orders, I am hoping to be back to my usual routine by next week with new things to share :)
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!! đ

Hiya friends, we had a very long night with our pup Sandy. She has chronic allergies that are very difficult to manage and had a worse than usual allergy attack last night. She was acting very erratic for several hours and kept hurting herself so my partner took her in to the emergency vet. She is doing alright and is on meds that is helping her, but it has resulted in a huge emergency bill we can't afford đĩâđĢ It seriously turns my brain inside out to see how much it costs just to keep our pets safe and healthy.
For the next few days I am offering 15% off everything I have available with code "Sandy" that will go towards the vet bills. This is her second emergency vet visit in two weeks and it's so shocking how quickly it's all added up.
I am heading out of town with family for a couple days but can send out orders today and this weekend when we return. I have lots of originals searching for homes and now is a great time to grab one if you've had your eye on something. Any extra support would be so helpful right now đĢļđģ thank you so much!!
The last two mycology sculpture jars still available from my recent spring collection đđ A two-toned bolete and a morel!
Lovingly handmade from polymer clay and colored with chalk pastel pigments & acrylic paints đ¨ Small identification labels made from watercolor paper are displayed on the removable glass cover. The mushies are mounted on mossy corks engraved with my logo and signed!

After dozens and dozens of hours of carefully handcrafting every single detail, I am SO proud to reveal this new one of a kind piece. đ¸đ¤ I originally released this box two weeks ago, but it just didn't feel like it was quite done yet so I took it down to add a bit more to it :) The little Mycena mushies I sculpted onto the corners added exactly what this box needed to really come to life!!
This one of a kind original sculpture box features a magical handmade & hand painted polymer clay frog surrounded by lush moss and tiny amanita mushroom caps. Clay Mycena vitilis fungi appear to grow whimsically from each corner.
An abundance of hand crafted miniatures hide within the box's lid, including glass bottles full of dried flower petals and foraged lichen, handmade books made from secondhand leather scraps and recycled cardboard and hand painted with metallic gold inks, hand illustrated vintage posters and scrolls, and more. Lined inside with felt and signed on bottom.

Hi friends, can you let me know if you see this post? Something went super wrong the last couple days and all of a sudden nobody could see what I was sharing. My post yesterday (which I've since deleted to try and reshare) only reached 11 people in five hours. đŗ I'm assuming it was a glitch but it's very concerning that it happened twice in a row.
Anyways, I'm hoping this time my new original sculpture box "The Owl Apprentice" will reach people. This one of a kind piece features a lovingly sculpted and painted clay owl surrounded by dozens of enchanting handmade miniatures. Countless hours went into each step of the creation of this piece and I am so in love with how it turned out and so proud to show the finished piece. It was my first time ever sculpting a bird and I'm ecstatic that she turned out how I was hoping she would!
I used so many different materials for this one! If anybody has any specific questions about my processes or materials I'm always happy to answer. The owl is sculpted from polymer clay and painted with acrylics, the mushroom caps and candles are also polymer clay. The scrolls and little vintage posters are torn watercolor paper I aged with a watercolor wash and drew the illustrations with a prismacolor pencil. The wand is a skewer I secured into a power drill to use as a mini lathe and shaped with metal files. The books are made from secondhand leather scraps and recycled cardboard and are hand painted with shimmery metallic inks. I made the crystal ball and candle stands from metal bead caps. The cage is the only thing I found premade but I added the moss and sculpted on the teeny tiny fungi đ
Looking for a loving home now on my site. đĢļđģ Hope you all enjoy her as much as I do :)
Some new lovingly hand sculpted clay mushroom displays! An enchanting cluster of Amethyst deceivers, a peachy bicolor bolete, and a magical morel! đ
Each one is individually made from polymer clay and colored with chalk pastels and acrylic paint. They are mounted to mossy corks with my logo engraved on the underside and have a tiny handmade watercolor paper identification label on the removable glass cover! â¨
These 3 one of a kind pieces are available. đĢļđģ Ships free in the US! đĻ

My first ever color prints are officially flying into the shop next Saturday 3/30 at 3 pm EST!! đĻđĒ˛đ¸
YOU GUYS. THE QUALITY OF THESE đŠđ¤đģâ¨â¨ I was finally able to invest in my very own professional printer and have been BLOWN AWAY completely by the vibrancy of the colors, the level of detail that was preserved from my original paintings & illustrations, and the incredible textured papers I'm able to print on!!! It seriously looks no different than my original artwork and the handmade cotton paper seriously made me do a happy dance when I pulled my first test print out đēđŧ
The three prints I will have are of my Attacus Atlas oil painting, Lamprima Adolphinae oil painting, and Anthurium prismacolor pencil illustration!
I'll have these on a high quality textured paper with standard cut edges as well as this premium cotton paper with torn edges! They'll be available in a few sizes :) the ones I'm holding here are 4x6 inches!
âĸ
Howdy! I've been a bit quiet lately, my partner Shane and I have been settling into our new place!! Sandy has been sooooo excited to have her very own backyard! đŗ sunbathing tummy rubs make her a very happy gal :) Shane finally has his own studio room and it's been so wonderful to see him have a space for creating again!!! I cant wait to do lots of projects with him :)
Our house has a sweet barn in the back that we're going to do our messier projects in (I'll probably do most of my ceramic work in there, larger paintings, and woodworking) but it needs a new roof and a deep clean before we can start setting up things, we're hoping that will happen soon đ¤đģ Super eager to get in there and make it a functional space!
Georgia local friends, I'll be at the Marietta Artisans Market this Saturday morning! It's my first event of the year and I'm really looking forward to it!
I'm working on a pretty big collection of mushie curio jars and enchanted miniature trinket boxes & wall hangings! I'm planning to release them on the 30th so keep an eye out for more peeks at the pieces and info! đ
I'm working on a new collection of wall hangings (like this one!) & trinket boxes topped with magical handmade miniatures! đŽđī¸đ¯ī¸đ§đģââī¸
I always get a lot of questions about my minis and where I find them, but they're all individually handmade by me! If you're curious about the materials I use, the little books are made with recycled leather scraps and cardboard and are hand painted with gold and silver ink, the glass bottles are filled with natural dried flowers like lavender and dandelion fluff, the tiny vintage posters and scrolls are made with watercolor-aged paper and illustrated with prismacolor pencils, I make the tiny pink salt filled bowls from acorn caps, crystal balls from marbles, candles and fungi from polymer clay, and the decorative candle and crystal ball stands are metal bead caps I stack together!
Keep an eye out for more info about the new collection, it'll be a fairly small one and my miniature work always goes super quickly! đ°ī¸

I want to super sincerely say thank you SO MUCH for all the love on my artwork the last few weeks!! đĢļđģđ⨠Three of my videos in a row blew up and there are a ton of new faces here!!!
It's been quite a rollercoaster and I had to step away for a few days to catch my breath. There's been an abundance of positivity and kind words, which has been overwhelming in the most amazing way. Thank you so much to everyone who took a moment out of their day to spread so much love or share my work, it means the world to me!!!
Unfortunately (and WILDLY unexpectedly) there have also been hundreds of creeps who had nothing to say about my art and everything to say about my appearance, and THAT has been overwhelming in the most uncomfortable way. I wasn't sure if I was going to make a post about it, but I figure it's important to bring attention to the reality of what women & fem presenting folks deal with online. Even just a simple 2.5 second clip of me smiling and waving before showing my work was enough for hundreds of men to feel the need to comment on me / my body or message me very uncomfortable and invasive things.
I am already very anxious about being in front of the camera, I have to convince myself to post my face like once a month just so people can know who is behind the work on my page. Situations like this where I'm just being bombarded with harassment and objectification make me never want to show my face again đ
Just wanted to be honest and share a bit of what has been going on behind the scenes, I know so many others can empathize with stuff like this. Being a full time artist on social media is always a WILD ride and you never know what to expect next đŗ
Anyways, I am settling into the new house and have a lot of exciting projects planned :) thank you so much for joining me on my creative journey!!! I cant wait to show you all what I make next!!! đą

Mini mushroom curio jars drop today at 6 pm EST!! đđ§ Lovingly hand sculpted from polymer clay đĢļđģ
I wanted to focus on some mushies from the genus Mycena for this collection! I made translucent Mycena vitilis, deep red Mycena toyerlaricola, glossy blue Mycena interrupta, and vibrant orange Mycena leaiana. I think the blue ones are my personal favorite :) đŠĩ
I have various shapes & sizes of curio jars for each type of mushie, they are each sold individually. Last time I released the mini curio jars they all found homes super quickly, so set an alarm for this evening if you'd like to grab one!! đ
