CONGRATULATIONS!

START OF SCHOOL YEAR 2023-2024

LOOK ll Twenty-three public elementary schools, three public secondary schools, and one private secondary school in San Juan District received financial assistance from the Ilocos Sur Electric Cooperative (ISECO), August 25 at San Juan South Central School.

ISECO's select top management and representatives from each school were present during the distribution of cash assistance amounting to P3,000 per school recipient as part of their Brigada Eskwela engagement to all schools in the Province of Ilocos Sur.

The teachings and legacy you've shared will never be forgotten, Ma'am Amy.

6 SJD schools receive STARBOOKS software

School Heads and ICT Coordinators from six elementary schools of San Juan District attended the STARBOOKS Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony between DepEd-Schools Division Office of locos Sur and Department of Science and Technology-Science & Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) at the Philippine Science High School-Ilocos Region Campus, San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur, June 20.

The participating schools: San Juan South CS, San Juan North CS, Labnig ES, Camindoroan CS, San Isidro ES, and Don Francisco Quilala MES, were the first 6 schools in San Juan District among the 157 STARBOOKS software initial recipients from SDO Ilocos Sur.

Present in the MOA signing were SDS Dr. Joel Lopez, ASDS Dr. Nestor Heraña, CID Chief Dr. Jose Bueno Jr., and dignitaries from the RO1 and Ilocos Sur DOST-STII.

STARBOOKS, short for Science & Technology Academy & Research-Based Openly-Operated KioskS, is an online and offline e-library conceptualized by the DOST-STII. It is the Philippines' first Science & Technology Digital Library in a Box.

Launched on June 14, 2011, STARBOOKS already received numerous awards and recognitions in the country and abroad.

With the MOA signing, DOST-STII and SDO Ilocos Sur are hopeful that SDO Ilocos Sur
will be 100% STARBOOKS recipient/user in the succeeding years.
