When is the last time you checked your credit score or report? If you’re afraid to check it because of the fear that your score will drop IT WON’T!
You can check your own scores as much as you’d like. Your score will be affected only when “hard inquiries” take place. Examples of hard inquiries are : loans, credit card applications, housing applications, phone service applications etc
Credit inquiries count for 10% of your overall FICO score. Be sure to only apply for things when you need them. Inquiries stay on your credit report for 2 years.
