Codependency can be understood as seeking love based on feelings of insecurity or inadequacy. Those who are codependent look to their partner to fill their inner emptiness and restore their self-esteem. This results in the partner being unable to be who they are. They are forced to fulfill a role the codependent person has chosen for them, namely, providing unconditional love and security.

Although codependent relationships are not always the result of trauma people who have experienced traumatic experiences are at greater risk of developing codependent traits. In fact, research shows that there is a strong correlation between trauma and the behaviors that occur.

Codependency is characterized by:

✅ Difficulty identifying your feelings
✅ Difficulty communicating in a relationship
✅ Difficulty making decisions in a relationship
✅ Valuing the approval of others more than valuing yourself
✅ Lacking trust in yourself and having poor self-esteem
✅ Having fears of abandonment or an obsessive need for approval
✅ Having an unhealthy dependence on relationships, even at your own cost
✅ Having an exaggerated sense of responsibility for the actions of others

- A Quick and Easy Way to Reprogram Your Mind and Create Lasting Peace
Change your mindset and life by having more control over your mind. Re-programme your mind with only 5 minutes daily meditations.
When you rise, take a few minutes to focus on your breath. Close your eyes while lying or sitting in bed and focus your attention and awareness on your breath. During inhalation, feel the breath moving upwards in your body, and during exhalation, feel the breath moving downwards in your body. You should then repeat the daily meditation, slowly and with intention, five times to yourself. Start your daily meditation with a strong voice, getting softer with each repetition. Your last daily meditation should be made silently.
Repeat the daily meditations for continued mindfulness and awareness throughout your day!
