HOME. MANCHESTER.
Grew up in a small town, still here now to be fair. This was one of the first houses I lived in, my grandads house, shoutout to him, cool guy. He used to take me out all the time, visit relatives and go on walks and stuff. I remember making my first friend when I lived at that house, was the next door neighbour lol, was cool cos we were the same age, we grew up with each other and were still friends so that was nice. This neighbourhood was cool though cos I never felt out of place in the sense of there being a lot of south Asians/Bengalis around me. Felt somewhat safe. Got a lot of memories from this house and the neighbourhood, I’m still right next to it lol
HOME. TOKYO.
I flew to Tokyo 2 days after graduation for an internship, stayed there for 3 months. Was my first time travelling internationally by myself. Will never forget it or stop talking about it. Genuinely one of the coolest experiences of my life. Met so many sick people that I still keep in contact with today so shout out to them. My room mates were some of the coolest people too, big shout out to them. The neighbourhood of where I stayed was cool too, everyone was friendly, helpful and talkative, also the 7/11’s in Japan are something else and the art scene over there is crazy. After being there for like 2-3 weeks, it felt like home, everything was efficient, clean and fast. It was safe to walk around past 10pm around the city, saying that from a guys perspective tho and everything was mad vibrant, loved it. Anyways can talk more about it, probs will do later, will never forget Tokyo, amazing place, would love to go back.
HOME. NYC. NEW JERSEY.
Mini-series. Made 3 stamps for this series. This one is inspired by NYC and New Jersey apartment blocks. I remember the first time I saw one of these when I was in nyc/nj and I was like woah, it reminded me of movies and sitcoms that I’ve watched in the past, kinda took me back, was cool to see in real life. Plus as a kid I’ve always wanted to live in one, idk why, I think it’s cos I like tall buildings or something? Crazy, I know. I miss nyc and nj, cool places and cool friends.
The Keffiyeh is a scarf with black and white patterns. It is a symbol of Palestinian resistance and it was banned by the is****i gov between 1967 till around 1993 :/ . The bold/block lines on the left represent the trade routes going through Palestine. The olive leave patterns represent the strength, resilience and perseverance. And the fishnet pattern on the right represents the history of Palestinian sailors and the Mediterranean Sea.
Olive trees. Olive trees are crucial for Palestine. Olive trees contribute to around 14% of Palestines economy. Since 1967, more than 800k Palestinian olive trees have been illegally uprooted by i*r***i authorities and in August 2021, more than 9k have been removed. This is done mainly due to the ongoing expansion of settlements in the West Bank. Did you also know that Palestinian farmers aren’t allowed to access much of their land in areas that are close to settlements, they’re only allowed to access the area few times a year. Another weird thing that I learnt is that is****I military restrict access water access for the trees, I don’t get it, why don’t these guys not like giving water to anyone, it’s sad. Btw feel free to correct me if I said anything wrong and feel free to educate me 🙌🏽✌🏽
Ur probably seeing the “🍉” everywhere on social media nowadays, only right, love to see it, let me tell you where it came from! The watermelon slice is a symbol of Palestinian solidarity. This started in 1967 during the 6 day war when is*a*l took control of the West Bank and Gaza. The is*a**I government banned all displays of the Palestinian flag, Palestinians would get prosecuted if they got caught with the flag. To go around this ban, Palestinians began using watermelon slices to represent the flag as it has the same colours as the flag. The ban lasted until 1993, that’s mad. Do lemme know if I missed anything plz. Keep Palestine in your prayers plz.
Another pic from the nice hillside in my town! I think I might’ve been playing Pokémon go around here, can’t lie, it went off. You can see so many towns from this hillside view, pretty cool. Pokémon go was so sick when it first came out, everyone was outside doing bits, still good tho don’t play it as often unfortunately :/
New York! I think this might’ve been one of my fave pics I took in New York. Being here for the first time felt crazy, felt like I seen all these buildings already from movies/shows, was cool af. Also, don’t recommend eating from a food cart on an empty stomach, ur stomach might start beatboxing. Who am I to tell u what to do tho, love ur life bros 🫡 apologies for the unnecessary long caption
Asakusa, going there at night is so sick because it’s still lively. Genuinely can’t take a bad pic here. They also have this long shipping street and I had the best taiyaki there
I loved the colours in Marrakesh, I saw loads of shades of pink, red and blue, really nice to the eye. Literally have a folder filled with different coloured buildings on my pc from there.
Central Park is massive, remember looking at it though Google maps thinking “nah it can’t be that big”, it is. Really cool park tbh
Took this at this nice hillside in my town, seeing the sunset from here is so peaceful although nowadays you just get a bunch of weirdos here which kinda kills the vibe :/ I hear it tho, at least they’re outside, touching grass. Shoutout to Manchester 🙏🏽
The sky view at the Mori tower is so sick, took me ages to get a clean shot
Shoutout to the people that take pics of the sunset, just know I appreciate them whenever I see them 🫡🙌🏽
Love rooftop views
My Daniel Arsham concept Collab stamp! I love Daniel Arshams work, the first sculptures of his that I saw was his “Future Relic”collection and then I saw his Pokémon sculptures and I was like woah, this guy is sick, anyways he’s my stamp that I made inspired by his Eroded sculptures. I’ve added some of his work on the other slides, I used them as reference pics, check his work out too, genuinely never get bored of looking at his work!
KAWS. Concept Collab Stamp!
Brian Donnelly is another one of my favourite artists out there, I would just call him Brian but I don’t know him like that, yet… He has one of the most iconic figures/toy out there, the COMPANION. I love the figures myself, there’s so many versions out there too. I would love to own one of his paintings one day or even work together fusing the COMPANION and my stamp sculpture. The inflatable figures he has made are so cool too, there’s one currently in Indonesia, go look up KAWS: HOLIDAY, btw if you’ve read all this then shout out to u, I talk a lot
Concept Collab stamps are back!, I don’t know if I should call it that tho. I just appreciate brands and the designers behind them. Nigo made HUMAN MADE a while ago. I love everything Nigo makes, my fave designer. HUMAN MADE genuinely makes everything from storage boxes to clothes. He’s a cool guy, would love to meet him or work with him one day. HUMAN MADE x koyur
koyur travel set: cardholder, passport holder, luggage tags, swipe for details!
A quick mock-up of a koyur passport holder, if I do make this, I’d like the face and the back to have the K stamp so it looks cool when closed, will show another mock-up later
A cardholder mock-up/concept, whatever you wanna call it, learning how to work with leather at the moment! Going to make a cardholder similar to this or a bit different! Maybe make some other cool stuff too!
