This is a Instagram test. Seeing if it posts to my Facebook account. Because I’m a social media moron.
My on the road face from a couple of years ago.
There is an undeniable happiness that comes from travel and music. Playing AND listening. Festivals and live music are coming back! I am SO grateful for every single person who supports and cares about my music and all music. Embrace and support our artists. Without them we are lost as a society.
Color selected and underway. Tour bus in progress. Also trying to link my Instagram and Facebook account because I’m ten years behind with my social media. 🤪
Seriously? WTH? And several pinch myself’s later...I am nervous as hell to announce I am speaking and performing my original music at TEDx Breckinridge on October 2, 2021. Another byproduct of the Mountain-Air pop up tour this past fall. Things are getting real.
Really really sad to announce the ski season Saturday night gig at the Ritz Carlton at Beaver Creek Colorado has been canceled.
Maybe next year when live music returns........
It’s so good to be home........

Looking back, dreaming seemed so much easier in the beginning. It wasn’t. It just seems that way now.
All I initially wanted was the courage to play guitar and sing in front of people - like 2 or more people - without seizing up in fear and insecurity. The courage to accomplish that dream took the longest time. Like 35 years longest time. I finally reached that milestone in my 50’s.
The next dream was to write my own songs. So hard, so much work and so much insecurity comparing what I could do to the incredible music already in the ether. I got help from professionals and started figuring out the elusive puzzle and magic of songwriting. And I did it. It’s still hard and I work a little or a lot on it almost everyday. I have no “hits” but I’m liking what I am creating which is a huge hurdle. That journey has many milestone stops along the way I think.
The next dream was the courage to busk without fear of rejection or need of reward beyond personal satisfaction. The courage to look lost or homeless or desperate or whatever I or others could think of a street musician. When I accepted it and began believing in myself, others did too. Not everyone. But enough people that I knew I wasn’t completely delusional. The people whom I have met on the streets are some of my best friends now and most supportive people I have ever known. They have lifted me up to heights in performing that I could not dream of because I didn’t know it existed. They made me understand the gift of music as the exchange of energy between the artist and the listener.
When covid shut down music it was devastating. I felt I was just catching momentum and being offered opportunities to play in legitimate incredible venues provided to me by the people who had become my fans/friends on the streets. So I just kept playing on the streets.
At the end of this summer I decided to create a plan that would allow me to still play safely but tour because I knew I had to keep going. The pop up tour in the last 6 weeks playing in the mountains towns of Idaho, Utah and Colorado with Al and without any certainty of where we would play, but faith that we could, worked. I think I finally can say I own the ability to play anywhere, anytime in front of anyone. And I know I can rely on that skill for the rest of my life.
This morning a post that I made 8 years ago popped up. The picture below. It really took me back to before I dared to dream the life I am living now. Which started me thinking and writing. As we are wrapping up the tour to go home next week I am wondering what comes next. I don’t really know.

So first stop on the POP up Mountain Air Tour was a hit.
Showed up with no clue where we were going to play. Found this stage in the downtown of Sun Valley/Ketchum Idaho and in no time at all we had an audience and we were quickly embraced by locals and visitors. Played this stage lights out last night until we were rained out.
Cannot wait to come back here and play again. Next stop Park City, Utah!
